The homeless guys were Randolph and Mortimer from Trading Places. You reacted to that film last year.
There is NO way you have never seen this. Best movie ever made.
Definitely Top 10 now
@@deving9793sure someone said it already but the 2 homeless guys he gave money to making a cameo appearance from a previous movie they did with eddie . They were rich Eddie and dan akyrod made them poor .
@@Jaybeast5x - Yeah... who told him to react to this without watching 'Trading Places' first?
@@Mr.Ekshin He did, Jan 2022.
@@AthanImmortal - Wow... most people went 5 years (1983-1988) between watching these films and instantly recognized that cameo as a meta-joke. He sees them only a year apart, and... nothing.
1. They killed the multiple roles.
2. The appearance of the Dukes is an "Easter egg" from "Trading Places".
3. James Earl Jones AND John Amos! GMAFB😎😎😁
4. A movie featuring John Amos worth a first time/share is "The Beastmaster".
5. "Coming Two America" is OK, but that's about it.
The two guys Akeem gave the money too were the Duke Brothers from the movie Trading Places.
Fun fact. Akeem's Mom and Dad are played by the same people who voice Simba's Mom and Dad in The Lion King.
😳😳😳 I would never known
This movie is probably the reason they were cast.
He also remind me of one of the characters in Monsters Inc. I’ll have to look that up
Not many ppl realized that about the mom in particular!
Really? I had no idea that the guy playing the Dad ever stared in anything else. Never heard of him before. Seems like the type of guy that if you cast him, people will come. Definitely seems most impressive.
Eddie and Arsenio played a lot of the characters in the movie, the barber shop was all them.
That one guy wasn't but the rest were.
One of the best movies of the 80's. Still holds up today.
Take out the retayrded femynysts propaganda, and it's a masterpiece. with the propaganda, is entertaining and fun but not much more.
34:49 Those were characters from an earlier film with Eddie Murphy called Trading Places. It's a good, insightful comedy. They're prominent characters.
18:10 "Greatest Love Of All" Most people know the Whitney Houston version, the original was by George Benson.
I clicked on this so fast 😂 your reactions are so fun, I'm glad you checked this one out, appreciate you
I appreciate you for watching my content 🙏
I did the same thing. I literally said out loud " Devin never saw Coming to America?" Lol .i gotta see this
Same!
33:08
“Why does he look bored”
I believe it’s called “gilded cage syndrome”
It's what led to the Buddha. Imagine being so sick of pampering that you go sit under a tree with nothing and eventually spawn a religion and life philosophy based around mindfulness, meditation and minimalism, and for it to persist for over 2500 years.
13:39
One of my favorite bits from this movie
“Good morning my neighbors!”
“Hey f*** you!!”
“Yes! Yes! F*** you too!”
The reaction to the first few minutes had me cracking up. 😂😂😂 “He got moneyyyy!”
Just let your soul glo. Just let it shine through.
😂😂😂😂🤣
@@deving9793James Earl Jones the voice of Darth Vader he was also the main bad guy in Conan the Barbarian with Arnold.
The one he was suppose to marry at least she was hotter than the one he wound up with and obedient lol part two had a lot of the same people but was a let down.
@@deving9793Watch Vampire In Brooklyn it also has Eddie as the vampire.
One of the funniest romantic comedy movies ever made!
“Come back thief!” followed by “Sexy chocolate” are the greatest lines in this movie
Coming to America is one of the funniest movies ever made. After a dozen watches, you still find new things to laugh at. This movie is definitely not Disney. LOL.
Eddie Murphy was 27 in this movie playing a 21 year old. Right now he's 62 and still making that big money.
Was about to go to bed and your video popped up so here I am from the uk. This as always been a favourite of mine.
Appreciate you family
I was surprised you'd never seen this. Absolute classic!
Fun Facts about old guys: The old Jewish guy in the barber shop was Eddie Murphy as well
The old guys Eddie gave money to were from Trading Places. Another classic starring Eddie Murphy, and Dan Aykroyd
Massive thanks to Devin G, this reaction was a much needed laugh today. Love from Wales.
P.s I love all DG and his misses. Devin had me laughing till it hurt with this reaction. This is my favourite reaction !
When he calls the guy a welfare case I couldn't breathe.
Wanted to add this is my most favourite reaction by DG!
Akiem has the type of money that even Mc Donalds bk off!!!
Fun Fact: The 2 homeless guys he gives money to was Ralph Bellamy (Randolph Duke) and Don Ameche (Mortimer Duke). There was another movie Eddie Murphy did called Trading Places where these 2 brothers were powerful stock brokers. But they get outsmarted by Eddie Murphy and end up broke. If you check the credits of both movies, they are cast as the same characters. In other words, their villains that makes a Cameo from one of Eddie Murphy’s previous movies.
Nice spoiler.
Listen to me carefully my FRIEND, this first film is awesome and a classic. BUT do NOT watch the second one, it is so TRASH lol, i was SO hurt at how bad it was.
I’m not even gone do that to myself then 😔
As long as you don’t go into it thinking you’re going to get the original level of good it’s worth watching.
I was disappointed when first watching the sequel, but I’ve watched it more than once.
Also the 2 old white men are from another Eddie Murphy movie trading places...a true classic in its own light
there's a sequel to this ?? wtf
@@xellestarcame out like 2 yrs ago
Your laugh is so contagious! 😂😂
😂😂😂 I’m glad. Appreciate you 🙌🏾
36:35 I was waiting for this part. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Never gets old.
Sometimes we just need stupid, dumb, funny movies. Belly laughs!!!
This was the belly laugh for sure
This movie never struck me as stupid, nor dumb. If you're looking for that, check out "Dude, Where's My Car?" for completely stupid yet enjoyable
@@douglasmurphy3266agreed. This is what you call a great comedy.
The "white" Jewish man in the barber shop was actually Eddie Murphy. The make up and the acting was so next level, almost no one can tell that unless you've been told so. Eddie at his best is so good, there are no words to describe it. Of course later in his career, he opted for the "easy cash grab roles without any passion", which sucks, because there is always so much potential in how much he can bring to the table, if his mind and heart is in the right place.
You have to watch Trading Places to understand the two street vagrants!!!! Also a great classic
He watched it a year ago. Watch the reactor Dasha's reaction to that scene when she realizes who they are.
The barbers calling Akeem Kunta Kinte was an inside joke as several of the cast members were in Roots.
McDowell (John Amos, the dad from "Good Times") actually played older Kunta if I'm not mistaken.
@@clutch236 That is correct. And Madge Sinclair (the queen) played Kunta Kinte’s wife. James Earl Jones (the king) played their descendant Alex Haley in Roots: The Next Generations.
@@nrkgalt Exactly correct! 🏆
I'm only 3 minutes in and this is the best reaction to this movie 😂😂😂 I'm rollin!!!!
Hi Rollin!
@@clutch236 😂😂😂😂
@@ambamb310 lol
If You have not seen Trading Places, You should have watched that first and You would have caught onto a subtle nod to another actor in this Movie!
Already on the channel
The orchestra in Akeem's room was just a front. You saw when Oha turned on the stereo in the little cabinet? That was playing Akeem's wake up music.
The song Randy Watson was singing was GREATEST LOVE OF ALL, originally done by GEORGE BENSON, and remade years later by WHITNEY HOUSTON.
So glad you watched this one brother, it's my FAVORITE COMEDY OF ALL TIME! you had tears in your eyes on a couple parts so I know you was feeling it. Can't go wrong with any 80's Eddie Murphy movie
Eddie Murphy was in shape, but you know that wasn't HIM doing those backflips. You could tell it was a stuntman.
34:54 "who the hell are they?" next movie on your list... Trading Places.
Already on the channel💪🏿
Zamunda walked so Wakanda could run lol
How you get so deep!
😅
😂I don’t know what was funnier the movie or your comments during the movie 😂 once again Devin you delivered an amazing reaction 👏🏾🍿🥤🎥
I love ur reactions! You be cracking me up! Love seeing people enjoy a classic movie for the first time! Keep it up my Guy!
😂😂😂 Great reaction Dev! Super fun watching this with ya
I think there should be a band called “sexual chocolate”. It’s catchy and hilarious.
This is the movie that made me love Eddie's comedy this was goofy and much needed Dev 💯🔥
Randy Watson and the Sexual Chocolate Band deserves a Grammy. I laugh so hard every time that part comes on 🤣🤣
You're frame is inspirational and this was an amazing reaction! Can't wait to see what else you react to! Thumbs up indeed!
"That boy got his damn coin..". 😅
With Akeem being called Kunta Kinte, it's worth noting that 3 of the cast were in Roots. John Amos (Cleo McDowell) played the elder Kunta Kinte. The late Madge Sinclair (the Queen) played Kunta Kinte's wife Belle. James Earl Jones (the King) played descendant Alex Haley in Roots: the Next Generations
Devin bro, how are you NOT going to react to the credits, and end credit scene? That's FOUL bro!😢😂
LOVED your reaction so genuine !...don't forget the characters that he played in the barbershop .
😂😂😂😂 10:00 bruh your reaction!! I feel you
I think that Lisa said no because of what the father of Akeem said to her. She felt it would be too much strife to take that kind of drama on
Yep. Also, she was deceived by him. Although it was a ‘good’ deception (for valid reasons), he still lied to her. I think once she was able to reconcile that, with what she knew of his character, she could then accept the love and relationship that they developed. 🩵
Loved the reaction! Great job bro…always having me laughing my ass off!!
In my top 5 to 7 Eddie movies. Was a treat to see you like it Devin
ONE OF THE BEST IN HISTORY.
34:50 You have to watch TRADING PLACES (also an Eddie Murphy comedy+ Dan Akroyd + Jamie Lee Curtis) to get that reference.
Man did I time travel or something!? Because how you look younger than the last time I saw you!? Are you really devinG?😂 This the best reaction video ever! I saw "coming to America" countless times, I started watching it as a child and haven't stopped watching it since. It's one of my all time favorite movies, let me tell you something! Coming to America is funny as the grass is green. Coming America is pretty up there as the funniest movie in the world, I don't see no other comedy movie that can compete with Coming to America except "The hangover trilogy" If you haven't seen the haven't thr hangover part 1 or part 2 or part 3 devinG then I highly, highly! recommend you react to it. You don't gotta do right now but at least add it to your list please! I'm telling you dawg, you gone have such a good time with that movie. I'm telling you right now you hold your stomach throughout the whole movie ready to bust your kidney from laughing.
Best comedy ever. This shit is the greatest
love the videos my bro, glad to see your channel change for the better but love the reactions my guy 🙌
If you search on youtube, you'll find a lot parodies of the Soul Glo commerical and Randy Watson 'sexual chocale'.
34:51 they are from movie ''Trading Places'' with Eddie as a main character too it is a great movie
That and Brewster's Millions with Richard Pryor are one of my most favorite movies
i Love the scene with the father showing Akeem on the money :D
ok Lisa He got his own money and when i tell you he got his own money i mean the boy got his own money !!!
2nd one wasn't the same. I can't put my finger on it but I felt like there was something missing with the character building.
6:20 - This dance scene was actually choreographed by Paula Abdul. Brilliant.
Watch "Trading Places" to find out who the homeless guys were. Another Eddie Murphy movie and a comedy classic.
Consider, for Halloween, Eddie Murphy's horror comedy "Vampire in Brooklyn".
You're reactions are hilarious 😂😂😂
I quote this movie at least once a day, ever since I saw it as a kid (29 now)
Man You Look So Different Without The Beard 😂 But Nice Great Reaction To This Comedy Classic Movie No Doubt
Great reaction 😂
34:50 - You need to now watch "Trading Places". You will quickly see who these 2 guys are and why this scene is so funny.
The Trading places reference is awesome.
I haven’t seen Andrew Dice Clay in forever
Great reaction Devin! I’ve always loved this film, an Eddie Murphy staple!
8:37 Rumor has it she's still barking, on one foot to this day
I saw this movie a lot while in high school. It taught me that persistence, is key. Talked to a girl and messaged her on AIM (aol instant messenger). She was a bit of a bitch and on the upper middle class; I was on the lower middle class- household income. At the time, I was asking some personal information about her and she told me it'd never be useful because we'd never be together.
We are happily married. Now, she is the kindest and loving person I know.
Brotha, how is this you’re first time watching “Coming to America”??? There is a part 2, it isn’t as good, but it’s still decent. Akeem’s parents (James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair) are ALso Mufasa and Sarabi from Lion King. “The Greatest Love of All” is Whitney Houston. The old guys that Akeem gave his pocket change to was a small crossover from “Trading Places”….which should be TOP 5 of next Eddie movies lol. And it wasn’t about her being into him as a goat hearder and not as a Prince, lies are lies, no matter what you’re still allowed time to process. Really in enjoyed this one boo!😊
Appreciate it!! He voice is so familiar too
Part 2 is terrible 😆
When the car showed up and you were trying to think of what it was, I think you were thinking of z28 Camero. But that car was actually a trans am.
Ur reactions be lit 😂
💪🏿💪🏿🙌🏾
loved this moviesas a kid :)
Classic Eddie Murphy comedy. Great reaction bro! 👍🏿
I love how NOBODY catches Samuel L Jackson in the opening credits 😅
I love the Mortimer and Randolph cameo. The Dukes are back on the stock trade.
Arsenio Hall and Eddie Murphy played several parts in this movie. Eddie Murphy played the white older man in the barber shop.
Oha sings like an angel.
It’s probably been said but the bums he gave the money to were the big bosses in the movie Trading Places
At the beginning ist Ladysmith Black Mombazo, the group with Paul Simon made the Graceland Album.
I loved all the Eddie movies I seen growing up “92baby” but I always pushed off This movie 2 years ago I finally decided to watch it always knowing it was one of his best movies and man I was pissed I didn’t watch it growing up. So fuckin hilarious 😅
Hopefully you caught his other stuff before this movie too. Trading Places, his standup, SNL, his music... the man is a monster.
@@MrKeychange not trading places. I seen his snl his music and the professor movies, daddy day care, haunted mansion, Doolittle norbit. I may be forgetting a few I seen
@@RamsayboltonSnow Trading Places is probably his 2nd best film after this one
@@MrKeychange I’ll have to watch it
I loved your reaction and I’m glad you had lots of laughs and enjoyment. Many of the hard-core fans dislike the sequel. I saw it and honestly it’s worth the watch. It doesn’t quite hold up to the original but it is pretty good for a sequel.
What's up bruh. I like your reactions . They be true
No one ever notices one of the flower girls is fancy from the Jamie Fox show, actual name is Gabriel 😊
Ohhh duuude…Trading Places!! You need to do that one also.
Awesome 😊
34:52 you gotta watch Trading Places.
Funny how the intro reminded you of the Lion King. The King and Queen were also the voice actors for Simba's parents in the Lion King 😊
And the 2 old white men Akeem gave that money two were from Eddie's movie Trading Places, which I recommend you react to a well... another classic
The two homeless guys that Akeem gave money to were the characters Randolph and Mortimer Duke, the same two greedy elderly brothers from the movie Trading Places that also starred Eddie Murphy and was also from the same director of this movie. At the end of Trading Places, they became broke. So they made a cameo in this movie which I guess you can say was a crossover.
It was years before I learned this is where the ' mike drop' originated.
...and the singer is Eddie Murphy.
6:30 little fact, this intro dance was choreographed by Paula Abdul.
17:12 He's talking about the Hugh Hefner on High!
Everybody in the Barber shop is Eddie Murphy.
Have you ever seen this movie Ghost Ship? If not you check it out. This movie used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid but now not as much. I watched it the other day and it's still an Amazing horror film. I might get drunk and rewatch it again when get off work tomorrow. Yeah 🍻👍
Trading places is a must watch now.
Mr. McDowell aka Black Mr. Krabs 👌
