I thought that was very intriguing! I mean as to be expected 16 boons was very beneficial but I also think that most of the help came from having a coordinated 4-man SWF
I don't get this train of thought. Counter play is pretty simple for both. I feel like people who are so adamant about certain perks being busted are just not playing into them right.
if this happened to me, i'd still be good with all the bloodpoints. but yes it would be lots of fun. for me, the fun is in the chase, not necessarily the kills.

i want people to consider that this was the nice version, if they bring flashlights it becomes hell for the killer let me paint a scene: you are a killer who has to work to chase people down due to calculations and shadow, but every time someone gets down a army of people flashlight save with their speed, if you hit one it doesn't matter because of their speed and their ability to slink off from the pack and heal by themselves, but if you don't pick the person up then they just stand up and the swarm scatters and their above average speed
I was 1 or 2 times against a team like that.and damn it was frustrating.i had like 3-4 hooks at max with freddy and i play him better than any other killer... when you down someone-3 people right away infront of you with flashlight,if you dont pick him up-they heal him and go back to the boon to heal.i hit them 100 times probably and down probably more than 20-30 times but at the end 3-4 hooks....
@@tylermorgan1654 Flashlight saving isn’t toxic, neither is running perks. “Toxic” as defined is when a survivor(s) are teabagging, and purposefully attempting to make the killer feel bad, like running in circles at the exit gate, or DS’ing unneededly. Toxic isn’t perks and flashlights, that’s just part of the game
I wonder how many of those killers were bothering to snuff those totems- it seems to be like this build's biggest weakness is simply that _all_ their perks were tied to totems. If the killer's proactive at snuffing, they can at least buy some time while the bone's relit to try and earn some pressure- and you can tell by the hook count that these killers were still getting some work done, even if nobody died in the games we saw. Fun to contemplate how to counter this without knowing about it ahead of time (so no custom perk builds).
That's 100% the answer. This build requires the killer to take the time out to remove boons. Killer unlights them MUCH quicker than players relight them. You know they're pushing boons, so you know where they are. There are strategic counters to this playstyle, but the biggest problem in the game will always be, 4 coordinated players will always be stronger than 1 killer.

Even four coordinated survivors who are only 'okay' at the game would be significantly easier to deal with, to the point where I'm wondering if the right approach would make that an easier game than four guys with the usual meta perks... The secret sauce could also be, potentially, that CoH has anti-synergy with the other perks there, since that perk wants you to be away from the killer keeping the totem as secret as possible.

Man, that was some ambivalent rollercoaster to watch :D The Survivor in me was like "lol, its hilarious" while the Killerside yelled "my god that's probably one of the most annoying things i ever seen" As a Killer i would probably decide to tunnel one out if i realized what you're doing, seems like the only efficient way to deal with that, considering nobody has bt or ds and everyone will just infinitely bodyblock/tank hits/heal/pick themselves up the whole match.
Ever since they introduced boons to the game I started using iron grasp and agitation 24/7. The counter to people who are playing somewhat like this is to run them to the different part of the map and force them to play on your grounds. Watching this is gonna make me come up with a new counter, but I don’t know what it could be.
A counter is to simply tunnel and face camp (Cant heal if you are dead!), and there is Forced Penance if you want to keep people from body blocking and then healing.
I play with one acquaintance and she never wants to go on voice call when we play. Then after a match she will text me saying "why did you do that?" I'm like girl, if you want better coordination then call me. I'd rather play by myself than like that. I'm trying to have fun anyways.
For a ghost face player, that last killer didn’t do that badly against this. Full swf, boons everywhere. Granted he had rancor and noed to help but still, had me on the edge of my seat lol. Good games!

Most friends are potatoes and play for fun, but there are those rare squads that will destroy you, because the game isn't balanced accordingly. And the slight chance of this shit happening is enough to say the game is unbalanced. Why have this in the game? Solo squads are already doing good enough, if every team mate knows the basics of the game and swf certainly don't need to be this insanely strong. Boons are a game mechanic, that wasn't thought through, or only looked at from a survivors point of view, like so many other thing in this game, because there are 4 times more survivors than killers. The devs keep sucking survivors cocks and that is an issue. But there are several issues with this game by now. For example MMR. That's a different story though.

This was less a showcase of Boons and more just a showcase of how a 4-person dedicated squad of all strong survivors on comms is a nightmare. I'm pretty sure the matches would have had similar results with basically any reasonable loadouts.
There is a killer perk that allows for that (Shattered Hope). However, it's not a simple snuff to kill hex totems. I'd be fine with destroying boon totems if it took the killer 14 seconds to do it without the perk.
Actually i had other idea. Remember the flashbang from leon? I think "craftables" would be a better idea mine would be Gear: multi-tools After repairing 100%/80%/70% this perk activates press z to make "repair tool" it takes 30/25/20 seconds to do so While you have it held the following effects aplly 7% faster gen repair speed 5% healing speed 8% totem cleanse speed (depletes in 120s) Or Use it to repair an dropped item by 60/80/85% (uses 60% of the multi tool) Comment ideas (i think i made it op)
As a killer, as soon as I see a surv get up on their own from dying state, I immediately start hooking each time they go down, even of it means letting a surv escape.
I've had teams try, sometimes successfully. If I suss it right away, I tunnel/camp one right the hell out and see if they're altrustic. usually they are.
Remember, self-care allowing you to heal ONLY yourself at 50% speed was OP and needed a nerf. But Circle of Healing, which allows the ENTIRE TEAM to heal themselves at 75% speed is perfectly fine.
I didn't realize boon perks worked like that, I thought it would randomly choose one of the boons you have to place on the totem but no, it puts four boons on one

Instead of last Boon, they could take soul guard + flashlights as you said and if you are not S tier killer you are fuuuuu*ked.

This really reinforces my opinion Boon Totems need to be destroyed after they are snuffed just like Hex Totems lol
