Hey brother, I appreciate you doing this. I just wanted you to know I'm not against you but you're teaching on this contradicts a lot of things that are in there. the idea that the "know" is not a intimate knowledge contradicts the idea that things are "clearly seen" and "understood" "even is eternal power and godhood" "so that they are without excuse." "For when they knew god..." This is not a general sense, and lumping in total depravity to any of this makes the whole thing contradictory to what it is saying. Like I said I'm not against you, I appreciate getting out there and doing this, and I pray that God reaches lost souls and they get saved through what you're doing. I just wanted you to know that your interpretation hinges around the idea that we suppress truth and not hold truth. Look into that word "suppress" in 1:18, look at every every other time its used in the Bible and then come to the conclusion that it's saying it should be interpreted suppress and not "hold" KJV. God is so angry at people because they hold truth, but they do the wrong thing anyway. "They hold truth in unrighteousness." It makes no sense for God to be angry at somebody who was pushing the truth away in some general sense, and never actually holdung it
no one holds a KJV only view point here. Cody personally doesn't own a KJV Bible. What are we being saved from as Christians? God's wrath. Not anything else. We are depraved, we don't like the truth, we can clearly see that in scripture I hope you agree with that. Things of God will not "make sense" to unbelievers, some of it barely makes sense to believers. But it is clear in scripture that God is perfect. No ifs, ands, or butts. God is perfect in holiness, perfect in grace, perfect in love, perfect in all attributes, perfect in justice. Since he is perfect in justice knowingly or unknowingly if we go against Him we deserve His wrath. We deserve the due penalty for the law or laws that were broken. So He is angry with unbelievers, angry with unrighteousness, we deserve His wrath and judgement, BUT yet while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Those who are saved by that grace and mercy should be humbled at that fact. knowing now what we deserve and what punishment we should be getting isn't going to happen because of His grace, because of His mercy. This is the glory of the gospel. I would encourage you to join our thursday zoom calls. You can find the link on our social media pages. Just search Fort Iron Ministries. We go deeper there, answer these questions and grow together. This series isn't for the unbeliever. It is for men who are eager to learn, to get discipline instilled of getting in the Word and finding these deep theological truths. Sharing the gospel with unbelievers requires a different method than this. We appreciate your comment and hope you continue to watch and study the glorious book of Romans.
