- In this video, I show my method for digging a hole to get to the diamond bearing gravel deep under the surface at the Crater of Diamonds State Park. I will also show you the process of washing the harvested material from the hole, using tools that any visitor to the Crater of Diamonds State Park could use!

Hey guys, within the video descriptions I have included links to the tools and equipment that I use, along with many other items you see in the videos. Check them out!
I hope the gravel held a diamond for you back at the house. Great tips for people. I love the milk crate classifier! That is the neatest use of a milk crate I have seen so far.
Good luck Solomon!
Thanks!!

Hey great video there!!! the wife and I are heading up there hopefully in a couple of weeks and this video is pretty awesome and exactly what I was looking for as far as the whole process. I just subscribed and look forward to more videos. It would be cool to see a fellow RUclipsr out there!😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍👍
Fishing with Fredo hope to run into you there! Make sure to let me know when you plan to visit!
@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner will do buddy😁😁😁👍👍
Thank You for sharing your techniques and knowledge. I have been to the park twice and learned more from your vids than anything the park puts out. I am currently assembling, classifiers, probe, containers and a wagon for my next trip. I am a retired, professional hard rock miner form Missouri. Hope to meet you in person in the near future. Good Luck...!!!
curt lenz I am glad you enjoy them! I have recently found a potential source for custom mining equipment, let me know if you need probe, yoke, or screen sets. I hope to show them in a future video. Thank you for watching! Hope to run into you there sometime!!
Yes, I would appreciate a link for diamond mining equipment. Thanks!@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
curt lenz he is a young local guy just getting started. I am trying to get him to start up an LLC of his own so he can expand on his talents. He doesn’t have a website yet that i know of. I will check in on him later this week, see if he has an ebay store or anything.
Im in arizoma and prospect for gold i hope to see u when we come out later this summer when is the best and worst time to come
I usually avoid the heat in July. We have a little humidity that can make it seem pretty miserable.
I'm older. So I would use a gas powered post hole digger. To dig down and also bring that soil up. I'm just saying working smarter not harder always works.
Victor Robinson park rules state that there can be no tools other than manually powered.
James archer would say, work all the clay!!
Ryan Cunt i probably would have if i had no time constraints. I am only there for a day or two at a time, so i have to be efficient.
Mining is hard work but the rewards make it fun what is the diamter of uf probbi g tool
Probes are usually about 3/8” diameter. Stainless steel works best if you can find one.
Did the gravel have a bleach color to it? The area you dug the hole is known for bleached gravel.
I didn't see any bleached gravel, but i had heard that too.
If you plan to spend a weekend or more in same location . How do you protect your site ?? You can't set up a tent nearby??
There are rules against claiming any area of the search field. A visitor can work any part of the search field, but usually people will respect other’s space and there aren’t problems. As far as setting up a tent, they allow canopies or similar setups, but everything has to be removed from the search field by the end of the day or it will be discarded. You have to take it out with you, or rent a storage pen like the one in a couple of my other videos.
I noticed a water hose....how many places in the mine do they have with water so you can wash the mud in case you want to wash there?
I think there are two water spigots that i know of for use, but i am not sure about rules regarding water hoses. I have used them to fill the small tanks i use when i set up by the east drain.
What about using like a sharp auger type tool and make handles to help bust up alot of ground easier
I am not saying to use battery powered tool I think it would make digging alot easier. What do you guys think
If you auger a hole, it may not be big enough to get your material out of after a few feet. I have seen some guys try it, check out the end of one of the gravel farming videos. It didn’t work so well for them.

Okay I understand, I am new to these mining videos, just trying to use my imagination
Work smarter, not harder.
The more I see of these videos, the more I realize that it really takes hard work, knowledge and dedication
Have u found anything over a carat!?
No, unfortunately, over 30 diamonds and none over a carat yet. I havent been there in a while, so I am due a good one😂. Thanks for watching!
just curious what do they allow on the diamond mine for equipment?
Brenda Middlebrook everything for mining must be manually powered and fit through a standard doorway.
TADM, what months are you usually out there in the field? I would love to pick your brain on different types of searches.
Charles Kelly i am usually there most between March and late September. I just mine on the weekends for now.
@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Thank you for the reply.. I have a question that I have had an issue with. How does one tell the difference between a light-seethrough Jasper of brown color, as opposed to a Brown or (Champagne) diamond?
Charles Kelly a diamond will have a metallic luster. Most jasper will look waxy. Even diamonds of poor quality and inclusions have that metallic look.
@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Thank you!

I bet he was wore SLAP OUT after digging that hole!
It wasnt too bad! Thanks for watching!

To redundant, less talking more action. From a Superintendents view anyway.
GaryLordsWayMinistry ha! A shovel doesn’t seem to fit my hand correctly😂! Thanks for watching though. Have you ever been to this park?
