- We bought an RV. We bought a used 2001 Fleetwood Expedition Diesel pusher. It is in great shape. But we decided that we wanted to spend some time remodeling the interior. It's the perfect time for a project like this anyway since almost everything is closed at the moment anyway.
We started by doing some minor engine work. The alternator needed to be replaced. Once that was done, we started pulling out flooring. The carpet came out quickly. There was also linoleum that needed to be removed. Luckily for us, there wasn't very much that was glued down. It was mostly held down to the sub floor with staples.
The most difficult section was the area on the slide outs. It seems a lot of the flooring is attached when the slides are off the RV. There are sections tacked to the underside of the slide that need to be removed. Removing the slides wasn't an option for us. So we had to find a way to remove the carpet with the slide still attached to the chassis.
Next we had to patch all of the holes in the walls and sand everything smooth.
We spent 5 days removing flooring, flooring staples, patching the walls and sanding everything down. It's getting closer to the point that paint can go on.

Thank you for keeping this Video up and for sharing your experience. We just picked up a pusher and need to do some of the same work.
We have almost THE SAME motorhome!! We are just beginning the process of remodel little by little! SO glad I found you guys!
We’re so glad you found us too!!! 🤗
but do take everything with a grain of salt! We are not experts on motor home renovations, we are learning thru trial and error 🙌🏼 learn from our mistakes 😄
Wow that's a great RV, can't wait to see what it looks like once you have renovated.
Thanks! We are pretty excited with the find. It just needs a little love and attention.
Viva With The Villarosas it’s a 2001 Fleetwood expedition 34N
At 13:26 and 13:29 the floor of the slide out has water stains. That didn’t come from inside. Most likely your walls there are wet and rotting. At 13:24 your bathroom floor looks water stained. Also if you find “surface mold” I guarantee you it’s in the walls also. Check the seal joints on the roof. One way to tell is to go around some of your outside corner joints and pull a screw out here and there. If the screw has rust on it then there you go. Moisture is present and most likely the wood it rotted. Don’t feel bad I just went through the same thing. I am almost done but I wish I had searched RUclips on buying an RV and looking for a water damage first. Goodluck to you both and I’ll be watching. Ohh and please do the floor LAST. 👍😀
This is great advice. I love learning from other people who have done this stuff. We spent about 3 weeks total hunting down rot and mold. The worst was the bathroom. We found out that the shower pan had micro cracking all over and was extremely brittle. It water stained the flooring and we had dry rot in the walls. It’s been a process. And yes, we are saving the floors for last. We just found a great price so we bought some. 😆
Just bought a 1990 tiffin allegro 31ft 40kmiles pilot family owned. Only handful of trips. Well cared for. Ml motor is immaculate. Some scumbags cut my cat being a ford but I'll figure it out. Love this advice I havent done anything but start her occasionally since getting her in 2020 for guess how much? 1800firm lowered to 1200 firm, the lady wasnt facebookers, so nobody got to see it and the initial picture was deceiving compared to the first unofficial quick bath I gave it is nice, I got it for a whopping 240$ steal and the new fridge had less than 100 hrs and was installed for 1700 on the road when they were tripping. Kids grew old it sat in yard they had paving company coming so I got the upper hand on that situation. Absolute blessing. I was offered the bullsize tall fridge that needed repair but I figured leave it which I wish I kept for spare. But whatever. I may have some questions if you dont mind me adding you guys.. godbless from NH
I prefer the alligator spin method!!! Hahaha thanks for all the secret tricks for the Reno process! I’m so ready for action, my husband and 3 kids... not so much! I need a clever way to convince them that it’ll be a journey of a lifetime!!! ❤️❤️❤️
My husband and I are working on our rv. Right now we just had it pressure washed inside and out now the fun begins we're gonna have our whole rv. Fixed up. Next. Comes plumbing and electric.
Welcome to the madness! It’s fantastic 🤗

This is amazing! I will happily come up and help you guys with this project.
Love love the separate bedroom. Must have when living it full time. Need privacy and a way to get away from each other if it’s raining and u can’t get outside. lol
I have a medical service dog, and a bed that he can get on is a must so he can alert me if needed.
Wow. You guys NEED more subscribers!
LOVE the background music! LOL.
Beautiful size
This is a fantastic video .. love your positivity and showing the process. Impressive .. not even one cuss word LOL .. I would have lit up a dictionary of filth with a project like this :)
Sue! Mine is a 2000 Chevy Fleetwood Tioga 24D
Is this project/renovation even cost effective? Or would you guys come out better just investing in a used RV? 🤷🏽♂️😳
LOVE the haircut(s)
When you are dealing with any mold, as specially Black Mold, wear a Respirator PERIOD with a pull-up suit! Environmental Pneumonia, been there done that. Once the black mold dries out, you disturb, it goes air-born. I had a MARRIED Couple that wanted to hire me to just gut there RV. So I went there to do an estimate. Water damage with BLACK mold everywhere! I told them NOPE! I told them to burn it. Yes; it was that bad.
How much did you spend for the bus was it through a private owner. I'm looking to do the same but don't know what to expect
It was from a private owner. We got it for $20,000.
@@ryanandsusuper rig, it's a great deal I think . You can't buy a car for that price these days happy travel be safe 😌
How much did you buy your rig for and the year. I’m shopping around for one myself. I enjoy watching you guys! Pretty soon hopefully I’ll be re modeling mine!
We bought a 2001 for $20,000. We didn’t think we would find a diesel pusher that we could afford. But one popped up on Craigslist.
What state did you buy this in? Did you run in to any issue with CA smog?
We bought it in CA. It didn’t need to be smogged because it’s a diesel. And since it is an RV, it didn’t need the CARB certificates either. But it is really expensive to register.
is it 102" or 90" wide?
It’s 102”
??? - YOU WILL TAKE HIS WORD AT IT... WHAT LANGUAGE IS THAT?????
*>> OK.... I HAVE TO STOP NOW... CHANGE TITLE TO 2 BOZOS BUY A BUS???
