Thanks for that. I suspect that these guys know their job, and do it the best way for speed. They did do a first class job, and quickly, and I know the farmer was very pleased with them.
I gotta say ive spent a lot of hours in a combine doing some pretty technical things and I have no desire to run one of those. Operator: you have my respect.
Thanks dude - the Valtra in this year's silage is 150hp but last years I don't have a clue, except that its fuel consumption was compared (favourably) to that of the big JD. balmesh
Colin's base is about 2 miles away, but as the road is narrow, they used a one-way system and the wider road through the village for the return journey. The Jaguar still had to wait sometimes! Balmesh
I think the tractors, makes and models have been covered in an earlier posting. As for the Claas, as a contractor's machine I doubt it's very old, and it goes like a young'un! balmesh
I haven't the remotest idea what a "moover" is! A Hoover I know about. Is it about adding audio? 'cos I think the snarl of a Jaguar is quite sufficient on its tod!
For some reason that farm doesn't - in fact nobody in the Luce Valley does. Round the corner near Stranraer, they all do - maybe it's the depth of soil? Alan
Yes, sure they do on other customer's farms. Fact, I know they do, cos the 'tractor said "That's it till maize harvest" when he'd done the whole crop. Alan
He told me that his son had recently bought a new John Deere and it used twice as much diesel as the Valtras. (Sorry, this could be controversial, but that's what he said).

Thanks. Galloway in the SW of Scotland. Rough country, great people!
Luv the sound of the valtras! Lush!!

Thanks Vince. I'll look him up (and wait impatiently for next spring!)
Balmesh
Thanks. I asked the owner if he objected, and the reply was that he delighted to see someone taking an interest.

this boy has a nice outfit
I'll bet they ARE big down there. Long way from Scotland, though - I have to make do with what we have here. And I can't complain.

I didn't even notice! Down to the contractor, I suppose.

Thank you very much

Firstly, can the spout be placed either side?
Second, if the Jag. driver does the manoevring, the spout needs to be where he can see it best.
Send a few of those trailers home.
Yes, but he's picking it all up! About 1.5 hours to do the 23 acres, I seem to remember.

awsome vid my frend
Balmesh has never driven one, bt Colin likes them! What do you other guys think? Is it the price - or are they really the bees knees?
Agreed - but why do you think thy would fill them that way? Must be a reason.
balesh
good video
Yes - but go and see "Twelve tractors and a Jaguar". That WAS something!
This is good teamwork. I'm surprised that you Yooropes can operate machinery well.
nice video ;)
Fair comment! No time for tripod, though - this was a "Grab camera and go" situation.

To Liozeris
Whatever do you mean by "Yooropes"? And why should they not be able to operate machinery well?

They are certainly used very hard during the season!
Which Fiat were you looking for?
I haven't seen a Fiat tractor round here in 5 years.
Well, I'd have liked it, but then I couldn't have done the video!
But where do I find Liam's videos?
balmesh
they must have done some amount of tractor buying in one year from way it looks in your other vids.
What tractors you got there? How old is the claas jaguar?
were you driving any of these machinery?
