This is a topic that goes beyond scientific inquiry, touching on what it means to exist, what nothingness is, and how the universe could emerge from it. Join us on this journey as we delve into the most mysterious thing we know and don't know, nothing.

It's ok to say... we simply don't know.
Awesome answer. I believe God's work cannot be explained.
@@RodSanAgustinAnd I believe Zeus and Athena work in mysterious ways. 😂
Which doesn't imply we should refrain from trying to know. Shame is though , this "trying to know" brought death and destruction.
@@RodSanAgustin That's cuz gods are imaginary. Imaginary things can never be explained because there's no tether to reality with them. No physical measuring, no senses contacting. But real stuff can be figured out. We don't know a lot of cosmic facts *now*. But we will know *one day* if we keep searching. Because the cosmos is real - unlike gods. And unicorns. And magical wizards attending prep schools lodged in a magical neverwhere. And Spider-Man.
(Every single time we've ever figured out a mystery, like where the sun goes at night, it's always turned out to be a perfectly natural phenomenon. Isn't that wild? It's never turned out to be Apollo on his chariot or a wizard casting a spell or whatever. Stuff humans blamed on demons for eons turned out to be diseases and mental illnesses that can be treated - like leprosy and schizophrenia, both of which Jesus blames on demons in the NT. If "God's work" were real, we would be able to engage with and study it exactly as we do black holes and cancer. But it isn't, and so we can't.)

The deeper or higher the thought - the deeper the need for even subtler knowledge - for the mind - towards infinity.

And they said u would never amount to anything. Please accept my thanks for doing nothing
@@waterthugsbut the universe inspite coming from nothing amounts to something
There can never be “nothing” because the potential of “something” always exist which means “nothing” cannot. The energy of our universe came from this potential energy.
Where did the potential energy come from, and what is potential energy and when was it factually discovered?
How am I existing right now? You. Me. Us. How are we floating about in outer space? How can we exist? How did all of this come from nothing? Where was the start? How can a start even exist? It's truly out of the realm of imagination. If it all came from energy, how can the first energy arise from nothing? If Our Creator (assuming we have one) came to us with an explanation, I wonder if we'd have the intelligence to understand such a question.
The only way to attempt to grasp this, is to first admit that time and nothing does not exist. We simply can't think "outside" the code of reality we were created inside. Our perspective is limited. I wonder if this will one day change? If it's possible to ever expand consciousness to solve the mystery of our genesis.

My mind is blown. WHY DOES ANYTHING EXIST... including nothingness? They are both perplexing. Does nothingness exist as empty space? Isnt space itself SOMETHING? SO is nothingness a solid? Nothing makes sense anymore.
na
There is something that always exists. Even supposed empty space is filled with virtual particles popping in and out of existence. It's like nothingness is trying to become something all the time, and true empty nothingness cannot be a state of existence. When I ask the big question "Why does anything exist at all?", I try to console myself with the answer: "Because it has to. Because nothing is impossible."

@@BlastHardcheeseableso existence is in essence eternity we are in.
@@BlastHardcheeseable Yup. The only thing we can truly know is that there's something rather than nothing, and therefore something has to exist for some reason.
The simplest answer is usually the correct one. There has always been something. Einstein called it space time. It has always existed. We know matter is just a state of energy and particles can appear and disappear without leaving a trace. Space wasn't empty to begin with. The concept of Infinity is the bit people can't accept.
Because it’s terrifying, even if there is an afterlife, wouldn’t there have to be an after AFTER life, and so on? The concept that has always intrigued me is there something & not empty space (or nothing) ?!

We certainly weren't "created" in some magical place, no matter what people desperately want (or need) to believe.
The problem is that we humans learned to think in time. When I was stoned 50 years ago, I told my friends and friends, that we are only energy. We are only a fantasy and illusion of ourselves.

Idk, I think it's fascinating that there are only two known examples of singularities, the big bang and blackholes. Could they be related? Could the Big Bang actually be a super massive blackhole in reverse. Perhaps the whole universe is inside a blackhole, and blackholes are nurseries for universes.

The fascinating thing about this question is that whatever answer you have ends up being paradoxical. Either an entity without a beginning , or an ongoing evolutionary process without a beginning, it just doesn’t really make sense from our perspective.
It's sort of like wondering if the size of the universe is infinite or finite. Either possibility ends up with insane implications. Existence is truly bizarre.
In deed without a beginning sounds more rational than from nothing, because only nothing can come out from nothing. The most viable instrument used to unravel the paradox of the universe is human consciousness, hence reasoning. Lets try and understand this tool first because it's much more closer to home. We may be surprised the riddle have been under our nose all this while.

I don't blame you but the big bang hypothesis.
I would add to this that I don't think we can say "Nothingness" ever had a chance to exist, as existing requires the passage of time. "Nothingness" thus never was, not even for a microsecond. Since time is interwoven with space, spacetime was a brute requirement.
But even if nothingness is impossible because time and space MUST exist, one could imagine a universe that exists with nothing special going on it at all (ie. no life). That's the real mystery to me. There has been no scientific finding that everything started from nothing.
There has never been a time when there was nothing. There has always been energy .
Maybe
I don't think energy is without a beginning. I don't think it makes logical sense to have an infinite past of anything, otherwise it would require an infinite amount of time to reach the start of our universe. I do believe everything had a beginning, including time, and there is no before the beginning of time itself. Thus nothingness never was, existence is a brute requirement.
Probably not. What we know about the universe is better understood if it emerged from an infinity of nothing, such as a Kuhn level 8 nothing.
An infinity of nothing being infinite, is replete with possibilities. One of these is the emergence or creation of our universe.
The creation event itself had to be very simple in nature so that it became not just a possibility, but also probable.
The universe we experience today is as a consequence of decay from that creation event. Ultimately (in trillions of years) the universe we know and love will decay back to nothing, no particles, no fields, nothing at all.
However, along the way it may go though a number of trillion year long 'events' as dark energy rips apart black holes.
The concept of absolute nothing is flawed, as even the act of imagining it imbues it with some form of existence or definition.

The title of this video has been my biggest question since the Universe, I mean me, began. Actually the way I phrased it is, 'Was there ever nothing?'
It was done by a time travel from the future. The whole mass was as small as a pea, and evolved to a planet 2x as big as the Universe, 100x as far as the size of the Universe. The Universes were made, and the mass was delivered by a cargo ship into the universes.
Universes at the size of a pea also exist.
The transition of energy into mass does not contradict physical laws; for example, the birth of a particle-antiparticle pair from a vacuum can still be observed in scientific experiments.

lets not make assertions about it, it just is.
See, if opposites attract, I've actually got to be my opposite self sometimes. I make big decisions all the time.
By definition, everything can not start. Think about how should time start? There is no time to go from "no time" to "time". There can not be nothing and there has never been absolute permanence. The universe is eternal and has always existed and changed. There can be no cause for the universe as any possible cause is part of the universe. The universe is unconditional.
Me, personally. I think it could be possible for time to spontaneously start nowhere and from the absence of anything as there seams to be a natural tendency for time to progress, but then light speed and singularity also offer an impression of some ability for time to stop and lay dormant. In either scenario we appear arrive at a proposition of either infinite universes from nothing, or infinite universes within infinite universes. For me some infinities appear more plausible than others though.
