Too slimy. The way Malaysians prepare okra is to wash whole fruits clean. Then slice them. Better to not cut off the bottom part that once connected fruit to stalk, to avoid slime coming out. And once they are sliced, no more washing with water, washing will make the okra slices extremely slimy n no longer taste good. The slices are cooked right away after washed whole fruits are sliced.

I wouldn't wash it with sault because the original slimy fluid taste the best and it contain soluble fiber which is good for your digest system.
That was my thought too. It was wash more than it should have and that can reduce its properties!
