How are there still so many guys in maroon 5? It could be done with two or just Adam and a drum pad. They’ve sucked all of my soul out of me with red pill blues, but JORDI sucked whatever is left and then put a trap beat over it. God I hate this album
Adam Levine once asked on “Makes Me Wonder” if it even makes a difference to try. Shame he actually followed his own idiotic advice. Bigger shame it was proven true.
Can’t believe this album is coming from the guy who complained not too long ago that there were “no bands anymore”...whatever happened to “be the change that you want to see”?
Maroon 5 stopped being a band once Moves Like Jagger came out. I think Adam is the only credited band member on the entire album. There are no real drums, the guitars aren't special and could be played by any session player, and why they have a bassist is beyond me as I haven't heard a real bass in about three albums. It's safe to say this is more of an insult to Jordi than a tribute
@@artvjon I believe I mentioned this on a stream recently, but the Wikipedia article says that “his bass can be heard on three tracks”. Lmao no it can’t 😂
Yes Jon! I was waiting for this! When people ask me what is the “maroon 5” sound I just say it’s Adam Levine’s annoyingly high pitched voice over the latest radio crap trends 🤣
That fact that Memories remix exist shows the level integrity this group has , like , I can picture Adam Levine being like, you know what this song lack? two West Coast gangsta rappers, how...
It's like in Adam's mind, the only artists who are so innovative and groundbreaking that he wants to work with them are rappers... So. Many. Rappers... 😂
ive had no problem with maroon 5 going pop up till now. i couldn't even make it through half the album cause i was so bored. i like the singles memories and beautiful mistakes. adam levine can't go solo cause his brand isn't as big as maroon 5.
If Adam Levine went solo he would flop, Maroon 5 is a brand now, and Adam is beholden to that brand, its what he has and at the very least the other guys get paid, I hope.
A total surprise that there’s even a new M5 record. Now I’ll be looking forward to seeing all the music reviewers here on YT trashing it. The opposite with the possibility of the singles getting overplayed in radio or tv
I loved Maroon 5 back in the day and it sucks that they've never learnt since Overexposed. Especially when Adam can write a song like "Go Now" from the Sing Street soundtrack which rules
When Overexposed first came out I thought they lost their minds. Nowadays I would much rather listen to Payphone on repeat for 2 hours than anything off this dumpster fire of an album!
@@BlinkPS2 Despite some different factors dragging it down, Overexposed is in reality a pretty decent album! Hell I'd say Love Somebody & Ladykiller are among the band's best songs... 👀
This was my least favourite album of 2021 so far, it was absolutely soulless and probably how I thought pop sounded like before I realised it’s not all bad and sounds much better than this.
For some odd reason I had the slightest bit of expectations for this album but it quite possibly may be their worst yet (this or red pill blues). But at least Lost was the first M5 song I actually like since Maps…only took them 7 years
I’ve spent the past couple of years re-doing their 2nd album to sound more inline with ‘Songs About Jane’. I’ve slowed some of the songs down. Altered the structure and arrangements on some of them. Isolated and re-balanced and mixed some of the tracks. Added parts and completely re-did the drums on some to give them more of a groove. Overall less of an overproduced, plasticly Pop sound. I plan to release them in the next couple of months.
That would mean they do an album in the style of AJR. If people in their 40s are making those kinds of songs there’s literally no redeeming quality whatsoever.
Honestly the song Harder To Breathe was IMO their best one, so everything of course would go downhill after that. Songs About Jane was their peak and that was their beginning so it’s a lost cause to try to top that. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
At this point i won't even believe it's the same band that once made me go "hey, what is this cool new group?" when i heard Harder to Breathe on MTV in like 2003 🙄
Everything about Maroon 5 nowadays is just GEN-Z-BAITING, and it's despicable. 🤮😂💀 They, especially Adam, just wanna stay in the sexy spotlight, but they're wayyy out of their league with the current YOUNGER pop stars today. They should consider hanging it all up. LMAO. 😂🐲😝
I honestly didn't realize they had more stuff out since Memories... Can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. 😅 Edit: Hold up... I just looked at the tracklisting, did they really just put a REMIX of Memories RIGHT AFTER THE ORIGINAL at the END??? 🤢
Honestly, Maroon 5 isn't about Adam nor the band anymore..it's about awesome new young talented songwriters pitching songs and making a name for themselves. I'm all for it. Lot's of talent all over this album
I also love the fact that their bassist Mickey Madden got arrested for domestic assault last year and ended up quitting the band, and very few news outlets really picked up on it. Haven’t seen any fans complain about him not being there, or heard it mentioned in interviews with Adam. Just like he never existed. Imagine the absolute Twitter shitstorm if it was Adam Levine who got arrested...
Although that's probably just a bassist thing. 3 Doors Down and Coheed & Cambria have had bassists that got in trouble with the law (the former committed vehicular homicide) and not a lot of people seem to know that.
I only recently bought Songs about Jane a year or so ago but I always loved the songs from it back in the day because Maroon 5 has been sucking so hard after the mid 00's

@@nah....6151 second album was pretty good too, Wake up Call was one of the songs I remember distinctly from my early childhood, I think the music video is the first time I ever saw someone die on TV, which in retrospect is pretty wild to say that Adam Levine introduced me to murder lmao
I stop caring about this band after the release of Overexposed. Really miss their 2000s era 😞
I can maybe understand Juice WRLD wanting to work with Adam Levine but there is NO WAY that Nipsey Hussle would work with his ass.
when i tell you i almost choked when i saw nipsey hussle on the tracklist
How? Just… how? I’m as baffled as you are.
i...did not know they released an album 2 days ago LMAO
The worst thing about Jordi is that there will still be people out there that will buy it and enjoy it. 💔
they could’ve been a solid funk band.
How are there still so many guys in maroon 5? It could be done with two or just Adam and a drum pad. They’ve sucked all of my soul out of me with red pill blues, but JORDI sucked whatever is left and then put a trap beat over it. God I hate this album
(there's actually 6 members in Maroon 5, it was 7 until Mickey Madden quit after being arrested for domestic violence)
I know like how woculd there be 7 at once at some point, even now being 6 its so weird why do you need so many ppl
The collab with Juice Wrld called "Can't Leave You Alone" is so unaware it's hilarious
Adam Levine once asked on “Makes Me Wonder” if it even makes a difference to try.
Shame he actually followed his own idiotic advice. Bigger shame it was proven true.
Hey, comment section. Were any of you aware Maroon 5 was releasing a new album like... at all?
Can’t believe this album is coming from the guy who complained not too long ago that there were “no bands anymore”...whatever happened to “be the change that you want to see”?
Maroon 5 stopped being a band once Moves Like Jagger came out. I think Adam is the only credited band member on the entire album. There are no real drums, the guitars aren't special and could be played by any session player, and why they have a bassist is beyond me as I haven't heard a real bass in about three albums. It's safe to say this is more of an insult to Jordi than a tribute
The bassist quit the band after being arrested on domestic violence charges 🤐
@@artvjon well shit
@@artvjon I believe I mentioned this on a stream recently, but the Wikipedia article says that “his bass can be heard on three tracks”. Lmao no it can’t 😂
They stopped being a band before this song came out, they did 2 albums then became a Adam Levine solo project.
I didn't even know there is a new Maroon 5 until I saw this
Yes Jon! I was waiting for this! When people ask me what is the “maroon 5” sound I just say it’s Adam Levine’s annoyingly high pitched voice over the latest radio crap trends 🤣
This is the greatest review of all time
Maroon 5 is just pop going wrong
Bro thank you for this! I sat listening to this album thinking, “when is the guitarist actually going to play? Did they fire him or something?”🤣
wtf the first song on the album has guitar playing in the first few seconds
That fact that Memories remix exist shows the level integrity this group has , like , I can picture Adam Levine being like, you know what this song lack? two West Coast gangsta rappers, how...
It's like in Adam's mind, the only artists who are so innovative and groundbreaking that he wants to work with them are rappers... So. Many. Rappers... 😂
@@gargudon8720 Well, it's not like Adam is innovative or groundbreaking.
@@Kylea1979 Maybe between 2002-2010 when him and his bands' music had a touch of authenticity to it 😂
Thank you for listening so we don't have to.
Why are Maroon 5 still even a band....
I wouldn’t call them a “band” anymore.
@@kylehegedus5498 That is a fact
money
I didn’t even know that they had an album coming out.
U can guess how much I care about them right now.
Maybe they threw their back out with the first 3 albums and now they just keep suffering on, instead of going to see a doctor.
this is like auto generated maroon 5
ive had no problem with maroon 5 going pop up till now. i couldn't even make it through half the album cause i was so bored. i like the singles memories and beautiful mistakes. adam levine can't go solo cause his brand isn't as big as maroon 5.
"The nightmare edition" 😂
If Adam Levine went solo he would flop, Maroon 5 is a brand now, and Adam is beholden to that brand, its what he has and at the very least the other guys get paid, I hope.
You should review the Kara’s Flowers album The Fourth World since it’s available on Spotify.
A total surprise that there’s even a new M5 record. Now I’ll be looking forward to seeing all the music reviewers here on YT trashing it. The opposite with the possibility of the singles getting overplayed in radio or tv
Still putting up a video for us to watch while he’s moving: thank you so much Jon. You’re the best: stay safe 🙏🏼
Thank you my neighbor!
I loved Maroon 5 back in the day and it sucks that they've never learnt since Overexposed. Especially when Adam can write a song like "Go Now" from the Sing Street soundtrack which rules
Songs About Jane and It Won't Be Soon Before Long are good
Hands All Over and Overexposed are ok/meh
Everything after that is bad lol
When Overexposed first came out I thought they lost their minds. Nowadays I would much rather listen to Payphone on repeat for 2 hours than anything off this dumpster fire of an album!
@@BlinkPS2 Despite some different factors dragging it down, Overexposed is in reality a pretty decent album! Hell I'd say Love Somebody & Ladykiller are among the band's best songs... 👀
song about Jane was a solid debut. I love It won't be soon before long but honestly everything after is trash
This was my least favourite album of 2021 so far, it was absolutely soulless and probably how I thought pop sounded like before I realised it’s not all bad and sounds much better than this.
I miss so much the Songs about Jane era, they were amazing back in the first decade of this century, now they're just making heartless songs.
Jon, what were your thoughts on the new AFI record? I think it’s rad, their best record since Burials.
Maroon 5's next album:
0/5
That would mean they do an album in the style of AJR. If people in their 40s are making those kinds of songs there’s literally no redeeming quality whatsoever.
@@shywitchanimations5235 that would be another good example of a hypothetical 0/5 album.
It doesn't honor my name LOL 😂😂😂
Hey no pressure, but will you talk about Marina's new release?
Honestly the song Harder To Breathe was IMO their best one, so everything of course would go downhill after that. Songs About Jane was their peak and that was their beginning so it’s a lost cause to try to top that. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
😂😂😂😂😂🤣 I absolutely LOVE when you tear music apart it’s comedic gold. Thank you for this review so I don’t have to listen, cheers to you Jon😅
A Day to Remember has officially gotten a friend. They aren’t the only ones this year with a rating of 1/5 after all.
I’m so fucking sick of Memories. I can’t be asked to listen to the album itself.
please review Marina’s new album!!! ik ur SUPER busy atm thooo
At this point i won't even believe it's the same band that once made me go "hey, what is this cool new group?" when i heard Harder to Breathe on MTV in like 2003 🙄
you tore this album apart LMAO
Everything about Maroon 5 nowadays is just GEN-Z-BAITING, and it's despicable. 🤮😂💀
They, especially Adam, just wanna stay in the sexy spotlight, but they're wayyy out of their league with the current YOUNGER pop stars today. They should consider hanging it all up. LMAO.
😂🐲😝
"PLAY FROM YOUR F***ING HEART!"
Seasons sounds almost like something that Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber or even Travis Scott would do.
Are you gonna review Marina's latest album? Reminds me a bit more of her FROOT and Family Jewels days
I personally liked the album very much. It's a summer sit in the backyard enjoy type of album.
i was waiting for this :)
So much respect for the thumbnail!
I honestly didn't realize they had more stuff out since Memories... Can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. 😅
Edit: Hold up... I just looked at the tracklisting, did they really just put a REMIX of Memories RIGHT AFTER THE ORIGINAL at the END??? 🤢
Thank you for listening to this album so the rest of us know we don't have to
That intro tho 😂
Honestly, Maroon 5 isn't about Adam nor the band anymore..it's about awesome new young talented songwriters pitching songs and making a name for themselves. I'm all for it. Lot's of talent all over this album
@@nikkibarron3102 😅😅😅😂😂😋😋😎
9:13 I got a good laugh out of that (probably because I grew up on Thomas The Tank Engine).
I literally only found out about that two days ago. And he’s a founding member, so you’d think it would have made a few headlines
Although that's probably just a bassist thing. 3 Doors Down and Coheed & Cambria have had bassists that got in trouble with the law (the former committed vehicular homicide) and not a lot of people seem to know that.
@@iliketrains3495 Yup, he was always there since Kara's Flowers
I only recently bought Songs about Jane a year or so ago but I always loved the songs from it back in the day because Maroon 5 has been sucking so hard after the mid 00's
