Hi Nate, this song was always a favorite of mine. It always gave me a sense of peace. The day I found out that my father had only about 6 months to live, I was upset. This song came on and somehow put my mind at ease, that everything would be okay. Now, every time I hear this song, I think of dad. Now I will play this in hopes that he will hear this, somewhere, Across the Universe.
Wow, I haven’t even had time to learn Angie yet, and you release another amazing song! I know how to play Across the Universe on guitar, but now hearing piano, it just adds that little spark that makes it sound awesome! Thanks!
Great tutorial. I've recently decided to learn to play piano and am having a Yamaha P145 delivered tomorrow (25 Nov). Always loved this tune so your tutorial will inspire me to learn it.
Yea! I think covers of this song work really well. I'm sure some people will disagree but I feel like while this is one of Lennon's best songs, they didn't quite "find it" with the studio version. It's a fine recording but it's held up by the strength of the writing and not the production. I really love Fiona Apple's version which takes it in a wildly different direction.
Excellent addition to your Lennon catalogue. I would like to make the suggestion to include Jealous Guy, Oh my love, and Beautiful Boy. And a special request: Love of my life by Queen (Freddy)
This is amazing Nate and so easy to learn with your clear explanation. Are you familiar with Oh My Love by Lennon? Would be wonderful to see your take on that.
@@PianowithNatejokes aside I’ve found several of your tutorials very helpful. You’re one of the only ones that does the full song. So love from Norway 🇳🇴
Thank you so much! And yes, I have actually: This is my flagship technique course and practice roadmap: www.pianowithnate.com/piano-chord-breakthroughs This is my music theory supplemental course: www.pianowithnate.com/keys-to-chord-progressions I'm actually running a Black Friday special right now with a discounted bundle of the two if you are interested! www.pianowithnate.com/blackfriday
@@PianowithNateI'm an intermediate player. Do you think your course would benefit me or is it more for beginners who have to be taught what a chord is?
@@richard135b7 Hi Richard! It is not for total beginners - it assumes you know chords (there are pre-requisite videos to help beginners get ready) and the course focuses on rhythms and arpeggios and other techniques to get into your muscle memory to express yourself while you play chord accompaniment. "Intermediate" is a wide umbrella and I cant say for sure if it'll be the right fit for you. I've had self described intermediate and advanced players tell me they got a lot out of it, and I've had some tell me it was too easy for them. I have a 30 day moneyback guarantee so if you find it's too easy, just let me know and I'll refund you :)
Welp... Found my next song to learn. Thanks Nate! Btw, I have a request if you ever get the chance - Tears of Rage by the Band. Would love to see how you play that and there aren't any tutorials that I know of. Anyway, thanks for your vids Nate, they're great for someone like me who can't read music very well and learns better by watching instead of listening.
@PianowithNate Definitely check it out, even if you don't end up doing it! It's one of my favorite songs honestly. Dylan wrote the lyrics for it and they're predictably awesome. There are a couple of versions out there but the version from their debut album is the one I'm talking about, with Richard Manuel's incredible vocals. That whole album is great from start to finish.
Hi Nate! Amazing work! I was wondering if you could make a tutorial for "Crazy", by Willie Nelson, I love that song but unfortunately I can't find a single video tutorial on youtube. Thanks!!
Hi nate I know it’s a bit early, but when you get round to doing your Christmas tutorials can you do step into Christmas by Elton John? and mary’s boy Child by Boney M.🎉
The incentive is to find good piano-based songs that would get you the most views. The Beatles are always a safe and beloved bet. However, how about Hornsby and The Way It Is? A true classic and perfectly suits a piano.
I'm most Definitely going to learn this song I love it so much thank you so mush nate 😀😁😃✌ have a awesome week how old was you when you got your first guitar and piano
Awesome, enjoy! I had a piano in the house that I banged around since I was a little kid but started lessons around 6 or 7. Got my first electric keyboard in 4th grade (I loved making up songs with the beats and voices it came with). I started playing guitar around 8th grade I think (my dad played so there were a few acoustics laying around my house). Cheers!
thanks a millonand billion!! this is a one of my favorite of the beatles songs!! lovely!!! Now I can play this song!!! great appreciate you!! have a nice day!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
