LYRICS
Grieving is part of the journey
Saying goodbye
to who I thought I was
Life is a mystery
full of twists and turns
One little lesson that I've learned
Forgiveness
Is our healing medicine
Forgiveness
when we just can't forget
Sharper than any sword
Stronger than any war
It's not easy
But I know it's a gift from you
We're all a part of a family
The family is growing again
We will fall and break and bruise
And get back up
with open wounds
And choose to trust again
Forgiveness is our
healing medicine
Forgiveness when
we just can't forget
Sharper than any sword
Stronger than any war
It's not easy
But I know it's a gift from you
You never said that it was easy
You know what it's like to lose
Through the power of forgiveness
You make all things new
You make all things new
A little faith
can move the mountains
But how much faith
will it take to
Let go of the pain we're in
Reach out
to the world again
and keep holding on to You
Forgiveness is our
healing medicine
Forgiveness when
we just can't forget
Sharper than any sword
Stronger than any war
It's not easy
But I know it's a gift from you

Ah...forgiveness! “It’s not easy, but I know it’s a gift from You.” I am a 61 year old woman....my dad’s kicking post most of my childhood. When I was 37 my mom died of ALS all while my dad had been cheating on her all along. As soon as my “sweetest mom in the world” died, the other woman filed for divorce and married my father 8 months later. My dad has had nothing to do with me since even though I have reached out multiple times extending an olive branch. He has been mean including treating me and my children terrible at my brother’s funeral when he died 7 years ago from cancer. All the ups and downs...the merry go round of a lifetime of a bad relationship, and now my dad is 85 and all I want is to know he will go to Heaven. But for forgiveness....but for God....forgiveness! I keep forgiving every day with God’s help. I fill my life with the presence of God, and that brings healing and forgiveness. I pray for my dad....forgiveness comes when you can pray for those who have hurt you so badly.
Thank you for this lesson!❤🌻 I am praying for my father too. May God answer your prayers! 🤗
Ema Derecichei .....May God also answer your prayers and His blessings be upon you always. 🙏🏻💕
I understand you and can relate to what you say about your father. I keep praying for mine even though sometimes I really don't want too but then I have been forgiven
Deirdre Mynes .....every day, God give new strength, mercy, and grace. I pray that God would cover you every day and wrap you lovingly in his arms. But for our Heavenly Father....He is our truest Father. Blessings🙏🏻
Praying for your healing and your fathers salvation. 🙏🏻💛
I once heard a son say, "I forgive him for killing my mother. Not for him. But me. I no longer am dragging him around by a chain." That spoke volume.
2 months ago I parked my official car and walked into a building to deliver a letter.
Upon my return to the car, I discovered it was broken into with valuables stolen including my laptop containing a book I was working on and other very important data.
This occurrence broke my heart and soul and I really wanted to hurt whoever did it somehow in form of a revenge.
Days went by and I just couldn't find peace of mind. I turned to God in prayers for peace and joy but God told me I needed to forgive the bandit(s) that my heart is bitter against.
That very moment I forgave them and peace flooded my heart. I have received more than double of the things I've lost in just 2 months and even working on a better project.
I still pray for the whoever stole my stuffs.
Forgiveness is the best way to get over any pain from anybody.
Glory to God.
I believe that your book will come out BETTER than you expect.... .
Wonderful ... and it even brings healing to a body. God bless you. :-)

For sure. God has been dealing with me about this and He is telling me that it's NOT about feelings it's about what the Word says & when those"feelings" on unforgiveness comes I need to stand on the Word of God. It's part of the healing process I believe

The gift of forgiveness
God bless you Jason for this new song.
Thank you Jason Upton for this powerful song. I shall add it to your other one, I only discovered last week, "Table". That song is played during my evening preparation for going to work. After spending time in His Love Letter, I enjoy playing that song to help set my mind for the battle I go into.
Blessings to you, your family and ministry🙏🏿
Parenthetically, I’m not a Christian. How do I even know this is about Christ and forgiveness through His redemption? The world is all about self-love and forgiveness. Worship pastors need to make the proclamation of gospel truths crystal clear, especially in these difficult days.
James Bellamy Jr we can only truly forgive with the help of Jesus. He forgives us of our sins. He has done for us what we can’t do for ourselves. We also need to forgive ourselves. God is most interested in our heart. This is all about Him. Once you surrender to Jesus, you will know this is true. Jesus is calling you. He wants you to know His love and forgiveness.
I'd agree with you James. It could be interpreted as any kind of other song you'd hear. We do need to be crystal clear. Especially now.
Adam Miller this is not the complete song. You can find the complete song on another channel. It is about God. We need His help to forgive.
Yes and amen let healings flow Father God!! Thank you Jesus!!!!

"you know what it's like to loose"??? NOT BIBLICAL.
Jesus never looses a battle.
(In response to Jennifer Gonzalez statement on a line from my song "Forgiveness" where I say: "You know what it's like to lose, but through the power of resurrection You make all things new."
Jennifer Gonzalez: "You know what it's like to loose?" NOT BIBLICAL. Jesus NEVER LOOSES A BATTLE").
My Response: I disagree -- I believe that Jesus did know what it's like to lose, and through the power of resurrection he made all things new. Being a follower of Jesus is not about being a people who avoid death and loss -- It's about being a people of resurrection! I believe that learning how to cope with real loss is a biblical part of the training program for being a follower of Jesus. Jesus wept when he lost his friend Lazarus to death, and it wasn't until after he felt the feeling of loss that his friend was resurrected. He lost friends who walked away from him and denied him. He was disrespected. He was beaten. He was killed. He even felt like his own Father had abandoned him. In my view the art of losing well is not incongruent with the Bible or the ultimate victory of God, but a meaningful part of the process. The art of losing is part of the making of a true Champion! I don't believe it's possible to become a winner at anything without developing a disciplined capacity to lose. If following Jesus is all about winning and never includes losing... the "winning" is a mirage. If you expect the Christian life to be one big Tennis match where you never lose at any point, you will never be a champion!

@@jasonuptonmusic thank you taking the time to explain, great insight.
God wishes that none would perish but that all would come to repentance, so He does know what it feels like to lose in that sense, even Jesus coming down to heaven to shed his blood for us, in a sense he “lost,” (or gave up momentarily) his full glory, but due to his obedience unto death, he went to his “glorification,” on the cross and the father not only restored him, but also many many of souls that were lost due to the grip of sin (the wages of sin is death) and in that he received the greatest victory his reconciliation of our souls back to the father for eternity, thank you Lord Jesus! We should strive to lay down our lives (lose) daily in the promise that Jesus is the resurrection and the life.
Funny you said sharper then any sword
“Father forgive them they know not whaaa.” Track ends forgive the sound guys… they made a bad cut… 😂😅
