rubber cement from homedepot works too was getting ready to buy a new one so wasnt worried about it failing but its holding better then before

I don't know what that is exactly. I highly recommend the glue I used in the video, the dust cap has been living happily ever after despite the 2,500+ watts of RMS I throw at it. Running a Skar RP-2000 at 1 ohm stable amzn.to/3CPHEvE

Just glued my evl dust cap back on with e6000 tomorrow will be the 3rd day I’ve let it sit. How long before you went back to full tilt

@@TeksTherapy I was just riding full tilt for like 25 minutes. Everything seems back to normal.
My evl 12 did it too but only one out of four? Idk how or why it’s strange
Maybe the guy gluing then at the factory messed up and used too little glue.

I reused my original one. You should measure your original dust cap so you can buy the right size for your sub.
Can I use loctite gel glue? Plastic cap i have

what happens if you continue to use the sub without the dust cap? do you lose the quality of sound?
I actually ran the sub without the dust cap for over a month, didn't notice any sound difference at all. Just make sure you don't have something like sand particles in your trunk because if sand granules or something like that get between the moving parts of the woofer cone, you'll toast the subwoofer. Luckily that didn't happen to me, and everything still works really well .
You risk getting dust in the coils. This can destroy the woofer. It's simply a dust cover. It's only purpose is to protect the coils from dust. I currently have 4 or 5 layers of paper towel taped over my woofer to help protect it. It has been going strong for 4 months. What can I say I only have about $30 and 10 hours of my time in them. The surrounds were a nightmare to remove. The replacement part went smooth.
I figured the first video would be skar, kept hearing it happened to people and just now I though my zvx blew but was still bumping fine, so checked and sure enough the dust cap is loose on one part....

Would guerilla glue work? Speaker repair glue is 30 to 50 dollars and I am sure there are cheaper alternatives.

Why did you take the dust cap off ?
One day we were going to get groceries and I noticed it was sitting on the bottom of my trunk. Not sure why it came off, unless 2,500 watts RMS on a warm day delaminated it from the speaker cone.
