At long last, the world gets to see these two legendary kaiju fight to the death. The city is the arena. The monsters are the combatants. Welcome to Death Battle.

Supposedly when Godzilla used his atomic breath while falling, he was trying to slow down to make a safer landing, though I felt like they didn't do a good job portraying that. As far as the battle, I feel like this is the most obvious ending so far: Godzilla is the King of the Monsters, while Gamera is really just meant as a child-friendly alternative, so of course Godzilla wouldn't be dethroned here. Also, he survived a black hole (which I guess you just forgot about during your predictions) and if you can survive a black hole, let's just say you deserve to have "God" in your name.

Gamera movies show quite a bit of gore....but in terms of kaiju power Godzilla is a solid 9.8/10 and Gamera is about a 7/10, that is perfectly respectable for Gamera
Ginger Daikaiju Lots of Japanese children's media show gore. Hell, even YuGiOh of all things had some pretty hard core things in it.
Just saying that the subject matter in Godzilla was more suited to adults while Gamera's was always geared toward children, although both Gamera and Godzilla had dark ages in the Showa Era, both had pretty amazing Heisei films, But the point still stands that Japanese children are hardcore if they watch Gamera movies
Ginger Daikaiju Japanese children are hardcore in general. Shonen Jump is aimed at children, and that has Fist of the North Star and Death Note.
Also the monsters confirmed for the next film are Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah.

They leave things out A LOT. Also Ris, if you were wondering why Godzilla was shooting into the water after falling from space, he was slowing himself down with his breath to break the fall.

***** The newest Toho Godzilla flicks are really nice. Final Wars has a lot of monster mayhem and some Matrix-like people fights for some reason (As well as an American fellow with an epic mustache).
That film was really disappointing because of that stupid music that played throughout the entire movie. Also the dubbed version was really poor sound quality. Such a bad end to the Japanese Godzilla movies.

Godzilla '98 was one of my favorite movies of all time, actually, and was one of the reasons I got into kaiju.

When Godzilla was falling from space, he was shooting the ground to slow himself down before he hit the water. Kind of like where he flew using only his breath XD

I'm a big Gamera fan, but I still enjoyed watching my favourite turtle fighting the king of the monsters, even if he lost.
Wiz and Boomstick described Gamera (at the convention when this was first played at) as being "Turtle Batman" because of how he strategizes.

Gamera was shown briefly in DragonBall, as being owned by Roshi, as he gave the cloud to Goku, so Roshi rode the spinning turtle to fire Mountain to use a Kamehameha to put out the mountain.

Even when this fight was announced back in May after Fulgore vs Sektor with Godzilla showing up first and after they announced Gamera back in June I knew Godzilla was going to win since he's faced a lot of different monsters, robots, the military and even aliens for the past 60 years since he was introduced. But for my pick for the next fight I would say Captain America because he's a Super Solider and he's got a very tough shield and Batman is only human and I don't know if they will included prep time for Batman but it can be very close.
But if Batman can beat Captain America one thing still remains how's Batman going to get past Captain America's shield and I have misunderstood defense because I never think about that every time I play a fighting game and I just go on attacking and never defend myself which I should do that.

I've heard at least two times that Batman needed the help of Robin to defeat Death Stroke and even still just because you beat one super soldier doesn't mean you beat them all. Master Chief is a Super Soldier and there is no way Batman is beating him in a first encounter. Speaking of first encounters Cap is an entirely new opponent and as such Batman doesn't know what to expect. With Deathstroke he is from the same universe and has fought Batman a few times, Batman knows him. Cap is another story so Bat's is fighting blind...no pun intended.

Plus Cap's shield can block pretty much all of Batman's gadgets plus he can even toss it like a boomerang.
And I heard that Cap has very impressive aim and also the sheild has magnetic properties which is why it is able to return to Cap like it does.
I see but either way I look at it Cap's got this fight in the bag no matter how I look at it which means Marvel's winning streak isn't going to be broken anytime soon.
I am surprised that they didn't mention Godzilla taking on Charles Barkley in a game of hoops.

I actually meant the turtle Master Roshi used to fly to the Ox King's burning castle. It was named Gamera.

did you know this wasn't the SGC "Next Time", they changed because they had a HARDDRIVE failure and that's why this episode has taken so long (the SGC next time was way better)
When they were talking about Gamera's weakness on the side of the screen it said that he retreats from battle and then he saves the day
Ris Grestar here's something that ya probably didn't already know (Godzilla gets that much bigger & more deadly destructive powerful through feed off of/on Radiation simply by absorbing it but fortunately as well as unfortunately even Godzilla can absorb so much Radiation just like Captain Atom from Detective Comics Universe)!
I have recently became a big fan of Kaiju's and Godzilla is a part of my childhood but I must say that I liked Gamera's story more. I just find it more interesting than a Godzillasarous being mutated by a nuke and becoming an indestructible force of nature though Godzilla is still awesome. I gotta say I want to watch some Gamera movies now because he looks like an awesome monster.
One thing I noticed about this fight is its quite comparable to Superman vs Goku.
Superman/Godzilla: The originals who came before their opponents. They have a signature attack that can disintegrate virtually anything in sight and gets their powers from an outside source and are seen as the most powerful character in their respective casts, they can also fly despite how seemingly impossible it seems to be. They have also been both good and evil.
Gamera/Goku: Protectors of the planet and very intelligent fighters. They get their powers from an inner force that depends on their physical being and they can even draw it from other things if need be. They are very smart fighters but have their limits despite how strong they seem they are not invincible and must fight hard to over come great odds.
In the fight: Goku and Gamera were able to keep up with Godzilla and Superman and even gave them quite a run for their money but Godzilla and Superman's sheer power and durability were too much for them to handle. It seemed like they had won at first but that hope is quickly dashed when Godzilla and Superman show up once more and completely obliterate them, leaving virtually nothing left.
Godzilla was roaming through the city like,“ Fuck your buildings and your military!"

Dont worry Ris, I enjoyed the 98 (God)Zilla movie as well. Actually, ironically, had I not seen that I never would have become a fan of Godzilla as that movie sparked my interest in the character as a kid. Ironic because Toho, declared that iteration of Godzilla, not Godzilla. And made the character in that movie a separate entity. Zilla. A character I still enjoy.
Considering Virus, the hyper spiral ray would've went through through Gamera like a watermelon.
The Gamera that these guys in this video talk about is a different version from the original. The original 60's-80's Gamera was a monster created by atomic bombs just like Godzilla. The Gamera in this video comes from the 90's reboot trilogy.

Batman and Captain America have fought twice before in continuity and tied both times.
Everyone has probably told you this but you should watch the kaiju movies that were on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
You know, I don't like that they chose to do Batman vs Captain America. They said in Spiderman vs Batman, that Batman would have been capable of dealing with Spiderman's strength and speed, but the spider-sense threw him off, so that means that Batman's the more than probable winner.

Awesome!!! Loved your lets watch and Gamera is cool but Godzilla has 30 films and can match Thors strength from the Marvel comics. Also the new Godzilla film was awesome you should check it. Finally, what you said about the stories for movies and how they advanced, i think the first Godzilla had a great story better than most of todays movies with a message of nuclear war and such great video
Angelo321luna I had thought I heard that was the reason for Godzilla, but when they didn't mention it I...Well, the thought wasn't confirmed. It's a powerful message for the time, but I'd have to see the movie to know about the story.

finally someone who actually admits they like the 1998 Godzilla movie. it is not the best movie I will admit but it was not as bad as people basing it so much. Point being no matter which Godzilla, he will always be a badass. Bad choice in picking the winner but maybe next time.

Also if you want more Death Battles, go visit deviantart.com. There are many people (I'm one of them) who are making DBs on their own. BUT... they write instead of animate them. It sounds confusing at first, but it's really fun actually so you should totally check that out. There are many fan favorite battles which Wiz and Boomstick haven't done yet, like Deathstroke vs Deadpool or Batman vs Iron Man.
This may sound weird, but once the Legend of Korra series is finished, I would love to see Aang vs. Korra.

Hey ris earlier on your channel there was a private video in your death battle playlist, where you giving the video a check for bugs. Also when they said that Godzilla lost to king kong that was the American version but the Japanese version Godzilla won.

That was a myth started by a Children's Book. James Rolfe himself disproved that during his Godzillathon for "Monster Madness."
