Hi! I'm a bartender and wanted to inform you guys of a really interesting fact. We, as people involved in the service industry (I live in Detroit) are required to take courses before, or during, our time of employment to help keep our patrons safe... One of these facts I found during getting my licensing was that carbonation (bubbles) mixed with any liquor get you toasted faster... ServeSafe was the name of the company we went thru... and they informed us that the man drinking a whiskey and coke would be more intoxicated than a man drinking whiskey and water... just wanted to put that out there! Another thing ;) the bar will pay for a cab... promise!!!
Our bar doesnt pay for the taxi, unless someone is properly shitfaced, but y'all are lucky over there! Also yes, that is true! Also drinking through a straw also helps you get you intoxicated faster. Most of my usuals always order something with either coke, red bull or fanta/sprite if they want to get drunk quicker, been telling them that little 'secret' myself, haha!
