That's called poor difficulty balancing. When the devs added EXP ALL, it caused such a problem they only bothered fixing up the elite four for nostalgia, and leaving everything else the same.
Oh my god... These fools were so hard to kill tho. Especially Flint and Lucian. Basically, my strategy was set up, then sweep. But Flint and Lucian just did NOT let me. That Rapidash just spammed hypnosis and almost ruined me. When I got up to the elite four I thought “well this theme is just gonna be the gym the-“ I hear the guitar and damn that theme caught me off guard and it hyped me up- …Then I got to Cynthia
I went into the flint fight under leveled thinking this should be a cake walk. I forgot he had a drifblim and once that thing set up with minimize, then baton pass to infernape and I actually blacked out to him.
*Drapion use Night slash* It's a critical hit! *Drifblim use mimize and baton pass. Switch out to infernape.* Your Attacks missed. *Mr. Mime uses Light Screen and Reflect* Me: God dammit can y'all please stop! Cynthia in the back: Hello, young trainer.

The most stressful elite four I ever faced
When Ronald Mcdonald only has 2 Fire types...
Just wait until his rematches.

The theme of:

I absolutely love the Elite Four theme in Diamond and Pearl. This is even more epic.
I remember being bummed at how easy the game was. And then came the Elite 4, jesus christ..
They definitely saved the best for last.
Ngl, it only makes me feel worse about the state of the game
Imagine how challenging the new Elite Four would've been if they kept Platinum's mechanics
@@fansee1368 You would wish Pokémon Perfect Platinum or whatever you wanna call it is a think don't you
That's called poor difficulty balancing.
I only survived because my Chimeco was being an anime protagonist, evaded an attack while sleeping, AND woke up on the same turn, finishing that annoying fire monkey off. I'm lucky I had one shot his balloon, otherwise... Yikes.
And Lucian just would not stop setting up screens. And when his clown did go down, he sent out fricking Girafarig, and ruined me with trick room, using my own Sticky Web against me. It was awful. He almost swept me.
Lucian setting up those damn screens was so annoying. Also for some reason his bronzong was faster than my rapidash who had already set up two flame charges.
I kinda just calm minded with jirachi until the screens came off because mr mime couldnt do anything anyway but that sounds rough
Flint's team includes only 2 fire type, but :
- Steelix is made of steel, forged in heat
- Drifbloom is a HOT air balloon
- Now think about Lopunny.
Lopunny is the only Pokémon in the game that is used as a substitude for the main type I think is a real strech. I know what could be the reason. I just think the reason is dumb.
I forgot he had lopunny. It was a lopunny showdown. I won.
Lopunny's fur would retain heat pretty well, I... guess? Yeah, even a Breloom would struggle to stretch that far.
They did not need to go this hard, I didn't know this theme could get better
Ahh yes! The Murder 4! went in blind and had a way tougher time than i remembered and then found out they had been buffed! and naturally Cynthia demolished me. Good times!
imo this is the most underrated pokemon theme - not the best by any means but a huge improvement over the original just because of the guitar alone, really really nice
I like the change in key that makes this significantly different than the actual Gym Leader theme! It tells you "This is it! Don't give up!" :)
I agree!
Least they actually did something to differentiate between the two other than Dean Norris and Mean Norris
Out of the four, Bertha gave me the most trouble. After the fight with her, half my team was fainted, and the other was battered to hell and back.
In DPPt she gave me Hell lmao them Ground/Rock types ain’t no joke if you’re not prepared lol
I think that Quagsire would have ended me without my Lopunny and Solar Beam
@Voltify That Whishcash was made to counter Torterra, yikes
God, when I heard tis song live on my stream, I was shocked how good of a theme this has been. I really hoped they would do a atleast very different feeling song from the Gym Leader one.
and they delivered... hard
I really love the guitar in that. Like AAAA im just such a sucker for Electric Guitars
I give to you
Youngster Joey 20 years later
Old geologist
Clown
Sophisticated man
The whole OST sounds like the anime and I love it
not true..
I knew I was in for a really tough fight against Cynthia when I was having quite bit of trouble with the Elite Four
tell me about it. I even had an underleveled team and struggled hard
My boi flint doesn’t need fire types when he has that baton pass driftblim
Ah yes, the teenager, the grandma, Ronald McDonald and the copy of Will (or just the booker) are back.
One of the few remake songs that are better than the original. Kudos to the sound team on this one! :D 3:11's gotta be my favorite part.
THE CLOSEST to the anime as they'll ever get the music in the games imo
"Alright, let's do it! You're a groovy little dude, so...before we battle, let's dance!"
-Flint, Diamond and Pearl Adventures manga
The toughest Elite Four in the series. Happy how they turned out. One of the few blessings from the remakes.
They did a good job with this theme. They made it stand out more from the gym leader theme. In the originals there were slight differences but it wasnt very noticable.
The bug-guy with his Heracross was hard for me. I came confident because I had a higher level and he broke my ass like 4 times ._.
The ilca guys did a very good job with the difficulty of the game, love this remake♡
Aaron not bug guy
But I call him TinkerBell
1:26 for the quagsire standoff
This is honestly a lot better than the original love it.
Sooo glad that the trumpets are back!!
That fucking drifblim baton pass into infernape….
Did a steel Mono run
Even with only 2 fire types, Flint was an absolute beast to face.
Empoleon definitely helped a lot but the High Jump Kicks from Lopunny was Annihilating my team left and right and don't get me started on the Infernape
I really liked this version, but I prefer the original because of the bass. In the original version the bass chorus is sensational.
Apparently Volkner was supposed to be in the Elite Four. I believe he would have replaced Aaron's spot.
On one hand it’d be kinda sad not having a bug E4 member (though tbf we actually don’t have an electric one yet), but at the same time it’d be dope to see a bug specialist as the 8th gym leader
I don't think, Bertha would make more sense since she is already an elderly woman soon it would make sense for her to retire from being an elite four
@@luisfillipebeserra2108 Volkner tells the MC in Pokémon Masters
Honestly as lazy as it seems it's cool that the themes, especially the original ones, were so close between the gym and elite four themes
It's really fitting, especially since elite four are really strong gym leaders, I like how the tone difference implies that
godamn 99.9999999999% of the game's difficulty is here. guts heracross with flame orb, recover leftovers quagsire, minimize baton pass drifblim?
This does a much better differentiating itself from the gym leader theme this time. Excellent use of the harmonic chords with the e guitar.
Still one of the most epic pokemon battle themes ever hands down!
I can't fully express how HAPPY I am that Game Freak put Ronald McDonald in Pokémon.
I'll be honest, Aaron's Drapion in the rematch is reason I can't sleep at night
To think calling your infernape Luffy would, in hindsight with what is happening in the manga right now, be this fitting is hillarious.
Galar Champion Leon would be in some serious trouble going up against these people especially since Sinnoh champ Cynthia is a literal monster lmao
flint baton passing to infernape after using minimize with his drifblim still gives me nightmares
I see this theme getting millions of views over the time
That moment where the E4 starts using some neat strats.
Gotta say, fitting and intense theme for what is literally the hardest Elite Four in history.
When you finally hear the difference 100% but you still only see 40% fire type pokemon on flints team.
Even on replays, that initial 15s of build up still gets me hyped.
Wow! Looks better more than gym theme!!! 😍🤩
This is so much better than the original holy moly.
welcome to the elite four, we have
boys will be bugs
former dark souls boss
Ronald McDonald and finally “STOP USING TRICK ROOM”
Me: okay, this should be easy. Aaron uses bug types, so Rapidash should be fine.
Aaron: *kills Rapidash with Dustox*
Me: well, I'm f*cked.
Yeah, just get a Houndoom from the Grand Underground. Namely the Volcanic/Dazzling Cave. That canine is a powerful fire breathing dog that can think bad thoughts to boost its Special Attack.
Somehow Chimecho carried that first fight for me
My Absol knowing Flamethrower was the one that saved me from Aaron but wow that Drapion almost ended me
Is it just me or is the gym leader theme more intense
That shiny QUAGSIRE tho 🔥
Round 1 & 3 were def the hardest ones for me
Round 1 was hard because I was NOT prepared for them to have max EVs and IVs. I made sure my team was on their level and a bit lower.
Round 2: i was better prepared, I reset my teams Evs, caught 2 new members and Ev trained them after i got the power items and i was closer to cynthias level and didnt struggle much
Round 3: i only leveled some of my team members a few levels higher but they were around Aarons level. Plus i was not expecting them to have different mons
Cynthia is by no means a pushover. She'll def push you down a cliff but man am i glad i finished it
When I got up to the elite four I thought “well this theme is just gonna be the gym the-“ I hear the guitar and damn that theme caught me off guard and it hyped me up-
…Then I got to Cynthia
The outfits the elite 4. In Gen 4 wear are so casual compared to Gen 5 s elite 4 outfits
Them packing heat with the BD SP remakes on the OST front is making me fucking itch with excitement for when Gen 5 gets their remakes
I think this is my fav elite 4 music. It's just so straight to the forward
I went into the flint fight under leveled thinking this should be a cake walk. I forgot he had a drifblim and once that thing set up with minimize, then baton pass to infernape and I actually blacked out to him.
*Drapion use Night slash*
It's a critical hit!
*Drifblim use mimize and baton pass. Switch out to infernape.*
Your Attacks missed.
*Mr. Mime uses Light Screen and Reflect*
Me: God dammit can y'all please stop!
Cynthia in the back: Hello, young trainer.
This slaps harder than Cynthia's Garchomp
When the gym leader music slightly changed the key resulting in an absolute banger
I just did my first Elite Four run overnight, my mons are between Levels 50 and 60 or whatever and what made me lose was Lucian’s ALAKAZAM AND DRIFLIM HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL
Welcome to sinnoh's pokémon league! We have:
The Bug Catcher
Agatha's sister
Ronald McDonald
Bronzong's only fan
Bronzongs only Fan!!! I love it! 😂
Bruh, screw that Drifblim on flints team, with the baton pass at +6 evasion. I literally couldn’t hit the infernape with any move for a full 10 turns
The “Yanmega used Detect” theme
