id consider myself a good spear player, but bmg should not nerf spear, its never been actually "buffed" nor nerf, so i don't see why it needs a sudden nerf
I run left bumper for dash/dodge right bumper for weapon throw. gonna use Xbox buttons just as an example but I have A to jump B quick attack X heavy attack. Y is disabled. Turn off press up to jump I don’t recommend quick attack pickups turn off improved sticks and I recommend out of jump recovery’s especially if you’re a newer player. If you’re on steam and play joystick I recommend lowering your dead zone through the steam controller settings and changing your joystick inputs to dpad inputs. If you’re on dpad you’re chilling. That’s pretty much it it’s All preference but I think these are pretty good settings
I think one of Phazon's videos helped me. So the concept is to slow down. We try so hard to speed blitz our learning progress that we are always rushing to confirm kills and rushing to win matches. In ranked, we have 8 minutes to win. Instead of learning the thought patterns of our enemies, our focus is wrong in the beginning. We focus on just hitting everything without understanding our options and our spacing. Once you slow down and learn common mistakes of your opponents' movements, it becomes clockwork to punish them constantly. In ranked 2v2, I learn how to attack and not attack. If my opponents are constantly whiffing and trying to contest me off stage, with spear, I'll do my best to space and position myself above them slightly diagonally to smack em with a dair. Dair is pretty powerful and speedy on spear. Slight is useful for when you know your opponent will land in a particular spot OR you can catch them off guard with a fake out dash in and out or two or a few (or as stingray calls it, pressuring them to try to attack you while you bait attack misses out of them). I still need to learn how to properly feel for intentional dlights into a proper punish on command with a jumpy opponent. TLDR; get them to basically play in your domain rather than you play in their domain, and stop attacking without thinking; stop whiffing. Force them to play how you want to, at least in the gold levels and low to mid plat levels until your movement becomes consistent
How many match have you played? Ive played for 6 month with 2k match with hattori and im low plat. How is it even possible to play for a year and still 1336?

Just use the default settings but switch the dodge buttons with the throw buttons
