  • Polaris has debuted the 2020 Polaris RZR PRO XP. This side by side holds more punch than any RZR yet and comes sporting Dynamix 2.0!
    The Engine
    When it comes to the engine, the RZR PRO XP is using the same engine as the RZR XP Turbo S. I don’t yet know exactly what changed to increase the hp from 168 in the Turbo S to 181 hp in the PRO XP, but I’m guessing it involves the way they tuned it. They have also introduced a new primary clutch that is supposed to double the belt life using a self purging cooling system (more info to come on whatever that means). That’s about it…Polaris seemed Shockley quite in saying much else about the engine during the initial release.
    Chassis & Drivetrain
    Polaris claims that the new RZR PRO XP has the strongest chassis yet. It is a one-piece welded frame (meaning zero bolts). This is not the only thing Polaris has made stronger, however. They have also fully reinforced the drivetrain. According to Dirt Trax if you can name it, Polaris has strengthened it.
    The Cockpit
    There is no denying that Polaris has really stepped up their game when it comes to the inside of the new RZR PRO XP. The cockpit of this beast is pretty freakin sweet. It boasts everything from beautiful led accent lights, to a Rockford Fosgate audio system (with 10″ subwoofer)! Polaris has also gone ahead and added a plethora of adjustment options, giving you the ability to tilt and telescope the steering wheel, along with a 3 position title control seat and 50% more adjustments front to back. Speaking of the seats, this may have one of the first side by side seats that appear to be good enough you’re not instantly yearning for an aftermarket replacement.
    Wheels & Suspension
    One thing I probably should have mentioned is that Polaris has lowered the seats and frame while raising the roll center in order to better align the drivers center of gravity. What does this mean? It means you should have better balance and more stability when riding. As for the ground clearance, you are looking at 14.5″ with either Walker Evans shocks or Dynamix 2.0 (depending on how much paper you are willing to fork over). All 3 versions come with a 64″ width which, according to what I’ve heard handles so well in cornering it can be compared to a 72″ wide machine.
    Trim Options
    There are three different models you can get for the new RZR PRO XP:
    1. RZR PRO XP
    -Base model (If you can call it that)
    -181 hp / 64" Wide
    -Walker Evans shocks
    2. RZR PRO XP Premium
    -181 hp / 64" Wide
    -Walker Evans Shocks
    -LED Accent Lights
    -6 pt Seatbelt Harnesses
    3. RZR PRO XP Ultimate
    -181 hp / 64" Wide
    -Dynamix 2.0
    -Rockford Fosgate Audio
    -7" Touchscreen Display with Ride Command

    I have a 2021 turbo s dynamix 2 seater. Love it, ordering a second one for my girlfriend in a couple months. The pro xp will not even be considered. The premium or ultimate model is worth it in either car.

    Wish the telescopic steering wheel was an add on option for the regular pro xp. I don’t think it kills the Turbo S but if they make a long travel version on 32s then we can re-evaluate.

    I just got the 2020 ultimate model, and it does have a Rockford Fosgate sound system, but it doesn’t come with the 10 inch sub included, you have to order that separately.

    I like the machine, really wanted the new live valve. Until i priced it out. the live valve with one of their package options is around $35k. The price is getting out of hand. I was having hard justifying $20k to myself for sxs. No way I'll do $35k!!!

      Try to build an equal machine and let me know how “out of hand” that price is. Seriously. Not being a jerk. Amazing tech in an off the shelf machine.

      Dave R definitely a big bite to take. That said, the only thing seriously overpriced is the accessories and they are DEFINITELY overpriced. For sure advise anybody looking into a machine to weigh the difference between a package price and adding them after the fact. I have a ‘19 ranger crew and have, pretty easily, added close to $8,000 in upgrades and accessories already and still don’t have doors. Getting ready to drop another 3,000 on a boss plow. Gotta say though, I HAVE NOT been disappointed in any way. Things a tank, does WAY more than advertised and as much fun to work with as it is on the trail and with the ecu tune, clutch kit and extra horsepower and torque? It’s a blast and JUST (if I dare say JUST) a utility machine with, now, 100hp. I would definitely do it again tomorrow.

    • @jimriley2812
      @jimriley2812 5 лет назад

      Dave R what I’m trying to say is, IF you’re in an area that you’ll use it, IF you can squeeze the budget and you decide to make the purchase, I’ve yet to meet the disappointed owner out on the trail.

    They have port and hose that goes through the top of head and valve cover then the hose runs to the coolant tank to expel air.

    Some people. All any of the channels do is regurgitate public info. They just do it in an entertaining way and make some extra money doing it. I’d rather get the info by watching these channels than reading a boring ass manufacturers website. Keep it up, your subs are moving up in number so kudos to you.
    On to something productive-
    I wonder what the chances are of the 2019 XP1K being the last year for that chassis? I can see a late 2019 fire sale and a N/A XP1K getting released.
    And the coolant system uses water temp differential to keep it circulating when the machine is off to help cool it down. And it helps remove any air in the system.

    Aside from being ugly, it's a pretty sweet machine underneath. Here's my gripe though; I'm an east coast trail rider. I don't need a turbo. I bought my '18 XP1K for under $14k at Abernathy. Let's just say I can pick up a '20 Pro XP for $21k. That's a $7k difference. I can build a pretty badass XP1K with $7k. Cage, tires, gearing, skids, shock therapy springs and valve work, harnesses, roof, winch, etc. I think the tepid response to the Pro XP comes from guys like me that wanted to see needed and meaningful upgrades to the trail segment. A better cage, same size tires/wheels front/rear, springs that don't sag 4" in the first year, and a 3-speed transmission. Anxiously awaiting the Kawasaki sport SxS release in October.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      Great input, Holden. I get where you are coming from. I definitely don't think the Pro XP is for everyone. If your the kind of guy that likes to modify your machine and have 20+K to spend I think your method makes more sense in many cases.
      In my mind, the Pro XP (much like the Turbo S) is meant for someone that either wants to spend 25+ and get a beast of a machine right off the showroom floor. Or someone with 35K that wants a beast right off the showroom floor that will be insane with another 7+ in upgrades!
      I do think they did a good job reinforcing the drivetrain and chassis. Do you not agree?

    • @x3dominator28
      @x3dominator28 5 лет назад

      3 speed transmission has been on every single one of my Polaris surveys. That would absolutely make these machines. And yes, the damn springs are cheap

    From what I've seen all over instagram and Facebook the last few days 75% of people are pretty disappointed in the new platform. I personally think it's okay from a visual stand point. Seems like it was designed several years ago and already looks a bit dated. Interior looks great with huge improvements. I'm sure once I get to drive it opinions will change. It definitely won't t replace the turbo S. Too many people like the wide stance for the dunes.
    -Dave

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      Yeah the wider stance is a good argument. But at the same time they say the 64inch with dynamic 2.0 handles about the same (like you though, I haven't driven it either). I could see them keeping it around though simply for the wider stand and to act as a dune machine to compete with the wider X3 models.

    • @wraith511802003

    You think the Turbo S is dead? Wtfe.. this machine is a major let down. Turbo S is a bad ass rig and no one is going to pay $30,000 for 64" machine with modest horsepower with a dated engine that does not tune up well. Evo just released their stage 6 gt tune for the X3 300+ horsepower. RZR engine was tapped out almost 3 years ago. Nothing left to give. People are going for the X3. Polaris really dropped the ball. So disappointed...
