All would have been resolved if the store person said they’ll double check, went to check, came back and politely said “I’m sorry, we’ve sold out”. If there is a line and unable to check, then politely saying there’s a line and unable to check, customer will need to come in, is generally understood when explained politely. Cussing at customers or being rude is never ok or funny.

@marcilk7534 This is all a joke you know that right? Like these are real situations, but I never talk to customers that way, but it is how they talk to us. These are just things I wish I could say when their being mean.

@@Dpoppinz I realize it’s a comedy sketch, but it’s worth noting a better way to handle these situations because there are people out there who think it’s ok to handle challenges this way. It’s not so much directed at you personally, but for impressionable youth who think it’s funny enough to try to copy in real life to get a laugh.

Also would have been resolved if the caller accepted the basic concept of selling out of something.

@@johnmcclure40 And that’s what my thinking was, she would have been much more likely to drop it if the cashier just walked to the where they were, double checked, or at least gave a valid reason they’re so certain “just checked for a customer an hour ago/computer shows out of stock/etc.” I had a store do just the opposite to me, told me yes they definitely have something, didn’t actually double check. It was end of day and everything closing. I had 1 chance to get this item. I went to the store, and they didn’t actually have it, so I missed the opportunity to try another store.

@@marcilk7534 Was their inventory wrong, or did someone else buy it?
And I have dealt with customers like this for the last quarter century. They will not accept the idea that just because they want something, doesn't mean that the world will provide it for them.
