Funny enough too because it was first introduced to me through a sponsored recommended ad on RUclips.

Discovering field medic is like hearing a subway busker that you know should be playing stadiums.

I remember seeing him busk in Powell, Montgomery, and Embarcadero stations some time between 2011-2013 (hard to remember exactly when, anymore). A barefoot, redheaded kid sitting on the dirty floor, he looked like all the other Haight Street runaway kids. But I remember him playing some improvised funny song about people he was seeing in the train station. I didn't have any cash on me and he wasn't very good (yet), but I remember thinking that it was great that this was a busker playing his own original songs. After he grew up and I found his music and I saw his face, I immediately recognized him as the Muni busker kid.

That's real poetry right there. Something is weak in the love-force. The love disappears at unreliable moments. And this love didn't tattoo itself. It's a henna tattoo and it's fading. It looked pretty, but it's over. Time to inscribe something new. That pain of seeing someone fall out of love, so perfectly captured.
It then boggles me how silly the video is for the song. He must really think of himself as a clown--like Pagliacci, or Kafka's Hunger Artist. He tortures himself for our amusement.
I truly admire his ability to discard everything else. He has turned himself into a living vessel for his art. As someone who has failed in that path (but who believes in its importance), I feel more faith in humanity when I listen to Field Medic. Even though his latest songs suggest he is getting tired of this path, I appreciate everything he has done. His music is a true tattoo on my heart.
Henna tattoo has become one of my all time favorite songs and vidoes it's just weirdly beautiful and creatively relatable thank you for making this song to give me another song to go to when I need good vibes ✌️
