The east coast of Sithonia has a lot of exceptional camps and the nearest to Sarti is 5 km to the north or about 7 minutes drive...
Welcome to beach and camp Platanitsi.
After leaving one of the passports at the entrance of the camp, as a guarantee that you will pay for the service when leaving…you can leave your car in this deep shade or drive directly to the beach which is about 500 m from the camp gate. The price of such a one-day adanture is paid 2 euros per adult guest.
In addition to the parking space, right next to the beach you have a very well decorated toilet with showers and they are also on several places in the camp. A rescue service is provided and both the camp and the beach look quite clean, so this symbolic price has justifications.
The beach is quite long and wide so that whenever we visited it there were no major crowds.
The right part of the beach is sheltered from winds and waves, so this part is more suitable for the youngest visitors, both because of the calmer water and because of the gradual entry into the water and longer shallows. In this part are cafes where deckchairs are paid for with consumption. There are also extremely tall plane trees after which the beach is named and which in the afternoon create a fantastic natural shade.
Perfectly clean, fine, golden-white sand and a phenomenal combination of blue-green water color are best seen in the middle part of the beach. Waves in this part are not uncommon, but they are not big and entering the water is perfect, so if your children are not too small, this part of the beach could be the best choice.
The left part of the beach is most often used by campers located just behind the beach, so the crowds here are less and the quality is like in the central part, the only minus thing is to walk a little from the car. If you continue north on less than 2 km is Orange beach and in between there are very beautiful bays and rocky beaches that you can only explore on foot.
You can also find a small market on Platanitsi if you forgot to bring something.
Renting water sports equipment is a great decision when you are on this beach because this "Lefkada" color is best seen when you are a little away from the shore.
And if this beach is not on the list of the most popular, we have visited it the most times of all the beaches in Sithonia. Probably one of the reason is that it is near to Sarti, but definitely and everything else is for a clean 10.
