@@Dgdrew Bro, those machines were made to work for so long, there is no matter on that.
However, you have to know that first, it is not possible to use the MacBook closed to use it as pc because the MacBook will stop the image streaming, for that reason most of the people use it plugged to energy, but it will destroy in the long run your battery.
To have a good health in our batteries is fundamental keeping between 20% and 80%, no less than 20 no higher than 80.

@@Dgdrewwon’t matter closed or not I use my MacBook Pro with a monitor probably 90% of the time. I do suggest using aldente to limit the charging to 70% if you plan on desk use to save the battery from being 100% all the time and causing faster wear.

When switching the laptop on after it’s been off then you need to lift up the screen. If it’s on standby then no.

Does the connection happen automatically upon connecting via cable/dongle or do you need to go to macbook pro display setting and change things after connecting the cables? My macbook pro screen is completely cracked, can't see anything.
Does that still work if i use a dongle? So im looking to purchase a macbook air and it doesnt have an hdmi port. There are dongles that feed power via usb-c while letting you connect more monitors, usb-a accessories and sd cards to the dongle….the dongle then has a single cable that plugs into the usb-c port on the macbook. Will clamshell still work that way? (The dongle i have found can extend the macbook air to 3 monitors simultaneously)
Yeah you just need the dongle with a hdmi insertion and you’ll be fine

@@Someone-224hey👋🏽 you connect one end of hdmi cable into MacBook then the other end of the hdmi cable into the monitor.
The adapter advice is garbage. Do NOT buy adapters. Buy USB-C to HDMI (both ends male) cables. I cannot believe anyone uses adapters.
