    Vanille Fatale is 11/10 for me 😍 I hate tobacco, so it’s the perfect alternative to tobacco vanille. It’s so dark, mysterious and warm. Not a too sweet vanilla which makes it perfectly unisex.

    I agree on the simplicity of Myrrhe Mystere. I got it as a gift and find it alright as daily driver vs the Amouage Interlude. I also own the Bois Maroccain. I agree with the 7,5. It was a duty free purchase that I am trying not to regret. It makes me smell better than the majority of people, but not in the same league as my other niche perfumes.

Its a star, it’s the reason why i start to use TF. There are similar fragrances but not good as it. Tobacco oud is elegant and dirty at the same time. Nothing can replace it. It’s 10/10 with stars 😀

    Just tried ebene fume and i have a similar analysis... Honestly, havent tried your alternative recomendations but i will say it does remind me of a less interesting Laudano Nero: that one has a great boozy note that just makes the profile that much richer and more complex. The thing is, you can get it for pretty much half the price and it is an extrait lol
    Also thought the comparison between noir de noir and black orchid is warranted, i thought the same... They arent similar smells per se, just similar in terms of "proposal" so to speak. I would also add that atelier cologne cafe tuberosa might even be better than noir de noir if you dont mind the... Well... Tuberosa!

      I do agree that Ebene Fume is quite simplistic and way too expensive for what it is but as a scent for me it hits the spot. I don't know the other one but Oud Malaki is definitely not a good alternative as it's mostly sweet and spicy so not really what you're looking for if you like Ebene Fume.

    hey Omar, can you maybe do a video about reformulated fragrances one day? I don't understand why a lot of brands do that, is it just about money or are there any other reasons? I bought PDM Layton a few months ago and I am really disappointed with the performance. I get about 5-6 hours. I think it has also been reformulated because a lot reviews say the longevity should be about 10+ hours.

    • @elenikiroy
      @elenikiroy 6 месяцев назад

      I have been wondering exactly the same thing. I suppose because the ingredients are cheaper, the brand is making much more money from the ever escalating prices, but ultimately it will turn buyers away, and compromise the reputation of the brand, so it's bad policy and kind of goes against the entire point of the artistry behind the original fragrance creation 🤷🏽

    • @ChildofGodforevr
      @ChildofGodforevr 5 месяцев назад

      Greed and ppl are not buying as much as they used to. That’s why I always advise ppl to buy any new perfume release and if u love it buy back ups because after the first year release, it will be severely reformulated. They release a nice strong formula to hook ppl in, then they weaken it and often reformulate with cheaper ingredients. The perfume industry is corrupt AF. Ppl have no idea. I have started supporting small Niche and Independent perfumers . They are the only ones who I trust to use the best ingredients and keep it consistent. Look at early Tom Ford, before he sold out, his perfumes were beautiful,artistic, innovative and lasted a long time on skin. Not anymore. And all the big Niche and Designer brands do it. Oh and my favorite deception, release an extrait version, charge a lot more for what the original USED to be. Despicable . And we allow them to rip us off by buying their reformulations. Either buy new releases or vintage . The rest is crap .

    It’s too bad they discontinued the Oud Wood Intense and Tobacco Oud Intense because they were out of this world good. I think there is Oud in those two, I’m glad I have back up bottles because the eBay prices are insane and just to be clear I wouldn’t suggest anyone buy at those prices they aren’t worth it, unless you have tons of money and don’t give a …..

      Oud wood intense is terrible. A friend sent me a decant in a swap and I threw it out after trying it out. It’s nothing like oud wood.

    Oud wood is REALLY not worth it in 2023. Got a 100ml bottle 3 days ago and the scent fades away for me after 30 minutes (It’s real) It becomes a very close skin scent only after that period of time. Its so unfortunate, cause this scent got me into fragrances when I first smelled it. Regret purchasing it for the current price.

    • @ChildofGodforevr

      Because Tom Ford reformulate everything . You have to buy older Tom Ford bottles . Nothing after 2020. Because of Covid, perfumers panicked because ppl weren’t buying as much perfume because ppl were saving their money not knowing what the future held so all the big brands severely reformulated their perfume lines . A lot of ppl don’t know this. And many ppl think they’ve bought fakes coz the fragrance is so weak. I bought my perfume direct from the brand website and it’s disgustingly weak. I had to return perfumes back to TF and MFK due to extreme weakness.

    Theres no definitive answer to if Ombre Leather is better than Tuscan Leather or not? Guess they are the same. Or as good as the other.

    Tobacco Oud IS the worst fragrance ever! Agree with u on most things except Bitter Peach. I love BP. I understand why u won’t like it, but I love Peach and it’s better as it wears down. Tuscan Leather is his best. My absolute favourite fragrance of all time but even it isn’t worth the price tag. Love Noir de Noir & like “Mandarin” but as much as I love his stuff none of it is worth the price tag Please do a video on Maison Francis Kurkdjians fragrances.

    Yeahh, I am also not a fan of TF anymore. Their quality level have decreased dramatically.
    Creations that I choose are Fougere D'argent I have (2022 batch), Noir de Noir and maybe also FF.
    I have recently written a first impression review regarding Myrrhe Mystère on Fragrantica. It seems to be very flat, without richness and complexities. Warm, dry, very much 'cedarwoody' based formula to my nose with a nice Incense accord. I do not think, it is worth the price at all. Really disappointing. The sweetness is minimal. It owns a velvety Iso E Super or Timbersilk texture, maybe Ambergris raw materials like Cedramber, Polysantol, Leather raw materials (Suederal LT, Cedrol). It owns a leathery quality to my nose as well. But it's very flat and the price tag seems to be horribly unfair. I don't think Sam's opinion is different haha.
    Well, I think, that Bitter Peach is one of their better created gourmand perfumes, if I am honest, but every nose is different. Overpriced for sure. I hated Cherry Smoke. What an artificial horror show. xD
    Mandarino di Amalfi is beautifully made, Noir de Noir too.

    I bought enough 4ml and 10ml sizes of Plum Japonais on Merci and eBay to equal 1.7 oz bottle. I love Plum Japonais, Noir de Noir, Tobacco Vanille, bitter Peach, Lost Cherry, and Solei Niege. Estee Lauder has ruined the brand. Started wearing Memo Paris, Chris Collins, and Le Lebo.

      I suggest buying a empty 50ml black perfume bottle(eBay has great ones) and put all of your PJ in one bottle. Trust me on this, I have hundreds of decants. It’s the best way to keep it fresh and from evaporating. Make sure u buy those black opaque bottles. You don’t want light to get thru. And keep all your perfumes in your coldest room. I keep mine in my smallest guest bedroom that i converted to a walk in closet. I keep the AC on full blast in that room and heat off all winter. So it’s always 60-65 degrees in there. I own almost 600 perfumes and most are very very expensive so I need to protect my investment. Perfumes need to be kept in dark and cool rooms.
      Take care

    Omar, please fix your rating system😂 The way you described Lost Cherry seemed like it’s a pretty bad fragrance, overpriced, basic dry down and not long lasting, but you give it a 6. Do it like Sam!
