Truth…after 27 yrs, I’m preaching to the up and comers about the mental side of things…we eat our own and we should be better mentors.

As a retired cop of 24 years this is absolutely true and not a new issue.

Retired fireman/paramedic...I completely relate to what he is saying. I started when CPTSD wasn't even heard of. I didn't know why I was depressed and having issues when my world was relatively great. Towards the end it all came down on me. Four years later I am still on my journey to fix me. If I'd only known, I would have chose a different path.

Can somebody please validate my comment I come from the military family I did not choose that route in my teams. I went straight into corrections and I was a correctional officer for years before I became a police officer now that I’m a police officer I am proud to serve my city and the people within.
My question is how come police officers don’t get disability checks like the military do guys that I serve with in law-enforcement who’s been on the force for 10+20 years retire and they don’t get anything. I believe that law-enforcement officers first responders she receive the same benefits as the military personnel because first responders deal with crisis every single day day today military personnel, like my brother who is a retired. Colonel told me that all they did was deployed and then when they deployed, it was just fun day. It was nothing serious and that’s why he stayed in the military for so long because he knew that it was just an 8 to 5 and no headachebut police officers retire with nothing but a retirement party please someone explain why or should we maybe send this up to whoever is in charge to give better retirement pay or disability checks to our law-enforcement personnel thank you

Not a maga guy or a Biden guy. Did I vote Biden ? Yes. I chose the lesser of two evils. Usually I vote Republican. I pray that you find inner peace and learn to separate People's souls from who you think they might've voted for.
