Almost every village in nagano has a ski hill. Fukushima has also some.they don’t get rid of old lifts always. They are hiking trails in summer time though, so most places have service roads. It doesn’t look like a full on resort.
I think it is called Toyama or something similar. As for why it is abandoned, I have no idea. Everything was left behind in all the resort buildings and chairlift terminals. A bit of a mess but it didn't feel like the previous staff had been told that It would be shut down.
@@SummitSagathere are dozens of abandoned ski hills in the area. We have a cabin 2 hours drive on the other side of Japanese alps. In our area there are two in similar condition. I think it’s just the small ones couldn’t compete with the larger resorts since they’re so close together.
With an ageing population there's less and less skiers in Japan to support these local hills. This one had been shut for 15 years and still had rice cookers left on benches like they'd just gone home from work for the day.
yep that’s exactly it. There is a whole urban exploration thing here exploring abandoned places. Theme parks, museums, love hotels and many more 😯 This winter trip we will go explore some abandoned resorts and feature it on our RUclips series 🤙

Here before the channel blows up
