  • The Kia Soul has been a popular compact car since its introduction in 2008. The 2023 model received a facelift on top of the Third Generation design from 2019. The trim options include the LX, S, EX, and GT-Line variants, with the GT-Line offering a sportier driving experience.
The exterior of the 2023 Soul features notable design enhancements, including an exclusive GT-Line designer 2-tone roof design and bold new colors. It also comes with black high-gloss mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels, and refreshed LED taillights. The compact dimensions provide SUV-like storage with 62.1 cubic feet of cargo room and a Dual Level Cargo Board.
Under the hood, the GT-Line is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, delivering 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque through a standard Intelligent Variable Transmission. Inside, you'll find a comfortable cabin with Black SynTex and Cloth Seating Trim. The tech features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless phone charger, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility.
Safety-wise, the GT-Line is equipped with features like Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, and more. The GT-Line Technology Package adds even more advanced safety and convenience features. The Kia Soul is priced at $19,890 for the LX base trim and $23,490 for the GT-Line base trim, with the reviewed GT-Line model priced at $27,220 with additional options.

A beautiful car in my opinion. Went for a test drive and it was very smooth and cool to drive. Wish i could afford it.

The turbo and or manual drivetrains will be missed, but your right, its more than just an appliance. Great review Adam!

I will go with the Kia Soul S model 2023. I might wait for the 2024 to roll out though.

Hey Adam, either January or June fo 2025, I am planning a road trip from El Segundo, California, USA, to Argentina and I'm looking to buy an affordable brand new car that will take me there back to the U.S. you would recommend the Kia Soul? Although, I'm looking at the Hyundai Santa Cruz, Chevy Trax, or Nissan Kicks, but Kia Soul has caught my attention. Hopefully, you'll read this message as I am getting prepared as now for that road trip as I will be driving throught 13 countries.
    Thank you,
    Jorge P.

Hey Jorge, thanks for reaching out. Umm that’s a really ambitious trip! Good luck obviously. :) I would worry about the Kia Soul’s ground clearance. I’ve driven in El Salvador which is pretty built up with their roads, I’d worry about potential obstacles or hazards. Santa Cruz sounds fun, maybe even a Hyundai Kona with some beefy tires?

@@txGarage Adam, thank you for the quick reply. I would look more seriously into the Santa Cruz and or Hyundai Kona for that trip.
