Oh, that regional manager was lucky it wasn't me! I'd have thrown all the trash cans in the dumpster as requested.......but I'd have taken it a step further and left all the trash bags that were in them, and their contents right where the cans were before I threw them out! After all......He said "throw the trash cans out". Not "throw out the trash". 😉
@@AssassinGTM but it’s petty so it’s worth it. I’d gladly do more work to piss off someone that pissed me off first, especially if they *told* me to do it lol
Second Story - I work in a university and when I first joined, there were a lot of people who took that route. Unfortunately it seems that many, if not most of them only lasted a dew years after retirement so my advice would be to use those days, while you still can, because you might not live to enjoy them later on.
The reason for high concession prices is because the theaters make almost nothing from the ticket sales, the majority of that money goes to the studio. The concession sales pays the bills, employees, etc.
11:19 Concession prices The reason concession prices are so insane is that theaters make next to nothing on ticket sales for the first *2* *WEEKS* a show is open. AFTER that, they start gaining a small cut of the ticket sales that increases for the longer a show is out. The first 2 weeks goes to pay everyone who helped make, produce, or even distribute the film. *Concession* *sales* cover keeping the lights on (literally), and paying the staff. I still agree that the prices are insane, and I either eat before going, bring a snack, or just forgo eating/drinking during a show. Edit: I also tend to buy the DVD/Blu Ray disc to enjoy the extras, and not worry if my digital copy is lost, because I can always "rip" it again from my fully legal hard copy, so I can watch it on my laptop.
There is also child labor laws. If you're under 18 all states have laws covering how long a person can work each day. If you think you're being abused you probably are. Then let the authorities know. If they can't help you right away they sure will help the others in the future.
Generally, these young kids aren't aware of what the labor laws say and often their parents aren't as well. Management isn't about to tell them. The schools should when they get their work permits, but more often than not they don't.
@@merlinathrawes746 That is exactly 💯 true. I took the time to read that big posted from the Dept of Labor that was up next to the time clock. I made sure they didn't run me over & try to use & abuse me. I was a HUGE smart ass with no filter back then. Still a smart ass. I just know when to engage a filter now thar I'm 51..lol
Not everywhere, but mostly yeah. I can enter most movie theaters in my state with food 'bought somewhere else' and they don't stop me. In music festivals and shows tho, the 'no food/drink allowed from outside' rule IS enforced. Exceptions are only made for medical reasons as far as I know, or for people with infants(the last one I am unsure tho).
When I was a teenager I worked a fast food job. I worked for gas money & entertainment money (going out with my boyfriend or bestie) My manager was on my last nerve one night & he could tell. He told me to get in line or I would be out the door. I went to the back & clocked out. Told the Manger on the way out I was leaving - I QUIT!!!! He was floored. He tried the whole - "so how are you going to pay for your car with no job" I told him, with a smirk on my face - "I might need A job but I don't need THIS job" Then I walked out the door & got in my car. General manager called me next sat when I didn't show up (I had worked there for over a year - a record for a teenager on fast food) ME: Didn't XYZ tell you I quit last night? GM :No, he never mentioned a thing about you quitting. ME: he was threatening me last night & told me a had no choice because he knew I needed a job. I told GM the line I gave manager last night GM: 😅 laughed & said - you're right you are only 16 Then proceeded to beg me to stay - (I was a fully cross- trained employee & they were already short staffed) ME: you couldn't pay me enough to work with XYZ. There is not enough money on the world. And - BTW he is the reason everyone is leaving night shift Went to pick up my final check- noticed XYZ missing. GM had fired him 😂🤣
Who goes to a movie theater expecting reasonable prices on the food at the concessions? I walk in there expecting to pay a crapton of money for it. It’s not a new thing.
Theater story: There's a reason movie theater concessions prices are so high priced. Theaters do not make a profit on ticket sales, ticket sales cause them to about break even. They make their profit on concession sales. But given how that place was operated it sounds like they barely managed to do little more than break even. Strangely enough, if they had hired enough workers to not stress the ones they did have, customer service would have gone up, customers would have been happier and despite the increase in labor costs, the place probably would have made more money. Strange how things like that work.
The prices are why I wait until they are out on dvd then I get it free from my local library and watch it at home. I can also have what I want to eat cheaper and I can pause it when I need to go to the bathroom.
I get a kick out of the outro. 'Check out the previous video which was way crazier' implying each video is less crazy by significant amounts, when the opposite is often true. lol
In the last story if I was OP when I went to a restaurant I would have had the waiter charge me for each item at the restaurant for my meal and then I would have tipped them each time the full tip for the whole meal. This would mean for each portion and then for the drink and then the dessert.
As for first story wording confusion. I haven't felt it sounded odd. Maybe I haven't paid enough attention. But it might be that I and maybe OP being non-native English people.
From story 1: I would have done the very same thing except I don't handle someone getting into my face very well. He would got into my face he would have walked out of there black and blue. My manager learned real quick not to get in my face. He too walked away black and blue. fortunately, I am a dairy manager and when he did confront me I took him down in the dairy cooler (no cameras). Before the pandemic started I was a bartender at a grocery store that serves beer and wine by the glass. I tried to see how many rules I could stretch. Everybody I worked with and patrons kept telling me I was going to get fired, I would tell them "Like that would break my heart" I did add "The only part that would be bad is you would be out a bartender and the friendliest bartender you know. The bartender who is willing to bend rules to make sure you are happy. I will do whatever it takes to make you happy without selling out the company or my soul".
Story 2 readers comments about the op being entitled to a treat or something? He obviously did it because it was the right thing to do the knowledge he got one up on a burocracy is reward enough, No body is entitled to a reward for doing a good thing otherwise how would it be a good thing
Deserving something (which is what he actually said) is not the same thing as being entitled to something. By definition they're not even close enough to each other to make this comment

I missed that part. I would totally back you up!

Theaters don't make money from the movies they play but from the concession stand. That's why they forbid anyone from bringing in their own stuff.

The student should have turned the movie theater over to the Labor Board for the way they were abusing students at work.

Doesn’t anyone stand up to bullying and rudeness. I’d have just stepped back and called a Lawyer.

On the Regional Manager for the dam. Five gets you ten says the RM $#@!ed the New Guy one too many times before. Mua ha ha ha!
Why is ruined in past tense?
Edit. Ok I understand now. Was asumimh it would ruin a company but this isn't pro revenge.

Theaters only make money from consessions
Story 3; 3 people from the management team to bitch to a worker but not enough people... I wonder why...
Aaand which company exactly got ruined by whom? Are we clickbaiting now? Am I to unsubscribe from this channel, too?
lol

the thetre was breaking the child labour law
The higher ups are watching this boss suggest that the law should be broken and they're just egging him on
