ABS has been around forever in the trucking industry, it’s about time it comes to the Rv industry, by the way Lippert is an awesome company when it comes to standing behind their product
As I am seriously considering a Grand Design trailer among others. Definitely a checkpoint swinging in Grand Design's favor vs competition. But is it on all Grand Design or just certain models. Matt, if any trailer/5th wheels etc has it, irrespective of the manufacturer, it absolutely should be not only noted, but highlighted with a mini-comment, much like you currently do with Azdel and its benefits.

Should be mandatory and is easy to install on all trailers. Wonder how many accidents this would prevent each year?

It would be interesting to use vehicles that aren’t newer and over sized-2500+/250+. Try this with a early 90s Chevy/Ford/Ram, med size SUV and mod vehicles(lifts). Those are the vehicles I see on the road having problems to crashes.
Living in the Sierra mountains, driving I80 Donner, Hwy 50 Echo and Spooner I first purchased a small 5th wheel trailer for this reason. I did lock up brakes several times, so having a ABS added on would had been nice in the past. Because older vehicles didn’t have good brakes, mine were drum brakes in the back with no ABS. I rely on on trailer brakes more due to this.
Matt I absolutely would want ABS on any RV that I drove off the parking lot....
I put disc brake on my 5th wheel TH , best upgrade ever. Always hate electric brake , will be great, if this ABS make them better.

Should be law for anything over x lb/kg. They are the heaviest thing on the road that doesn’t have ABS
My quick take. I think this is a good idea.
How is that sensor on the break protected? It looks to me like that might be an issue.
Is there an alarm or light that tells the driver one of the sensors is out?
How does this work with a break controller?
Will this be a dealer added option or factory installed only?

There are at least 35 comments about this product demonstration and most of them are questions but, ONLY ONE question was answered. So I'm probably wasting my time but here's my question: Is the ABS system available as an add-on to my disc brake equipped Grand Design 5th wheel?
Is this the Australian version? Unit seems to be mounted upside down. There is even a little picture of a travel trailer on it with an arrow saying "This Side up" that's pointed down.

We are in the market for a 5th wheel and once we saw this was available it kinda became a deal breaker for us. Just seems too important not to have.
This should be a DOT requirement on any camping trailer and dual utility trailer. I drove for FedEx for 25 years and all of our trailers had ABS. It’s not a luxury but an accesity

Can I get this system on any TT that has Lippert frames.
Funny there's no answer to this. Looks like you would have to replace the drum and perhaps the backing plate. Then just wire it in - Lippert frame not important.
The question remains, is this available in kit form?
