Consider donating your gently used luggage to foster care organizations, many of these children only have a plastic bag for their few possessions. A piece of luggage can be nice!
many thanks for great tips! ... here's ours: if getting new luggage, one can also use the old luggage for EMG ESSENTIALS, in the home: Preparedness for earthquakes, fire, hurricane/tornadoes: why store PREPPER items in a box, when u might have to mobile with a 5 min warning or less? Everyone I know has nothing ready, or a 2 days supply of a couple of food items in a box in a garage or basement that might become inaccessible: we keep 1 wheeled carry-on filled, for each family member hidden under the dining room table.
In Australia our carry on limit is 56cmx36x23cm 10kg for domestic travel with Qantas , 7kg for other airlines. International it’s 7kg , depending on which class you choose it might be more. I haven’t seen any changes that I know of.
Children in the foster system could use the unwanted luggage. They are often shuffled from house to house with their meager possessions in garbage bags.
Totally agree. It would be nice to do a fundraiser for them and I have the platform. But not sure if youtube has a foster care organization in its database. Gonna have to check. Thanks for the suggestion
I'm finding these changes complicated and frustrating. As an infrequent traveler I'm trying to abide by the rules but they keep moving the bar. I'm irritated.
It’s ABOUT TIME .. Was a cabin crew for 30 years & the number of psgrs who INSISTED that their OVERSIZED / OVERWEIGHT Bag is ACCEPTED ALLOWANCE .. When intercepted and arranged for checked-in, these “entitled” psgrs often threatened a complaint.. Sadly - Management tends to acknowledge such complains and suggested that crew should exercise flexibility .. Often, when crew assisted due to bag’s weight and size - they ended up sustaining injury (sprained wrist /back).. This resulted in loss of flights if injury persisted .. ALL THESE BECAUSE PSGRS REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES & MGMT FAILS TO PROTECT THEIR CREW .. Am NOT exaggerating - but in my years, have often come across frequent flyers lugging onboard 15-40 Kgs Oversized bags & INSISTED they have ALWAYS Done So & Was NEVER TOLD Otherwise.
Longtime flight attendant here - spot on! Boarding was so nice when people could check for free - now it's a luggage battle. And we're supposed to bully people into putting small bags underneath, in their tiny legroom area. Sure, if it's their second bag - but when they have paid to check their bag, and want to put their only small carryon overhead, they have a right to that legroom!
Great tips! My carry-on duffel is well within the size/weight limits as long as I don't overpack it, and I will be checking my power bank to make sure it's acceptable. Safe travels everyone!
Most power banks are unless they’re a monster! Mine have the relevant info on the devices. I also think it’s prudent not to pack in amy checked bag - but if you must tape over the connectors and warp in bubble wrap.
Very confused? Almost all “carryon” luggage exceeds the new limits. Example, Travel Pro 21 inch bag is actually 23 inches when wheels are included with measurements. So nearly all carryon bags don’t meet these limits!
I now just use two shopping bags. Two are about 4 ounces. They are tough and reliable. They are cheap. I strap them with a one ounce strap to keep them closed. One in the overhead and one under the seat. Since I travel light anyway, I easily get my stuff to where it’s going and I have more than enough things to use while away. If you think and plan and scheme you can make it just fine!
You are most welcome. And thanks for stopping by. I do appreciate that! Please turn on your notification so you don't miss my daily videos. Have a pleasant evening.
You keep referring to the battery's/power bank's "watt-hour" capacity. There may be a "watt" rating but not "watt-hr", because this is a usage measurement, not how much is available to be supplied. As an electrical engineer, I must tell you the standard designation is by mAh (milliAmp-hour), aka "ampacity." The uniform way to compare power banks/bricks is by the mAh number.
I will be doing a video on that shortly. But I would recommend bringing a doctors note and letting the TSA agent know. Also it would be helpful to ask for wheelchair assistance so you can go in a separate line
Personal item dimensions are all over the board. It would be nice for domestic and international airlines agreed on a larger standard, particularly given the personal item only fares some airlines offer.
What is your source for the universal domestic airline carry on size limit of 56cm x 40cm x 23cm (22.07in x 15.75in x 9.055 in) coming in 2025, please? I am seeing various dimensions and would like to verify before buying new luggage. Thanks so much for your excellent video.
There’s no industry standard for sizes for carry-on luggage, with every airline assigning their own size and weight restrictions. If you want to purchase a carry-on bag that would be accepted by most airlines, then the most common maximum size would be 22 x 14 x 9 inches (56 x 36 x 23 cm), including handles and wheels.
I will be doing a video soon to go through and highlight different acceptable bags. Someone else asked the same question. So stay tuned. I will be digging a little deeper to get the best info for you. Thanks again
Check the link in the description. It will lead you to Amazon where you will see the watts hour or WH in the title and/or description. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for the synopsis. The universal sizing and enforcement is welcomed by me. My powerbank is under 100 watt, so no problem there and I already travel with solid toiletries. What will be not so great is the upcoming weight limit. I use packing cubes to maximize what I can take, and I wager the weight of my carry-on will be more than the limit. Boo. So a 300 pound person can ride with a 8kg bag for free, but a 250 pound person can't fly with a 9 kg bag for free? Inequitable.
Connecting domestic flights don’t route you back through security if you don’t leave the secure section. Board in St Louis, connecting at Dulles to go overseas? No extra security.
Very complicated since most Airlines seem to implement their own rules. But watch several videos on my channel and you will get clarification. Thanks for stopping by.
Has anyone used a Level 8 Voyager 20’ carryon for domestic or international flights in 2025? I just bought one and have not used it yet but looking at the measurements , I think it is too big for the new standard. And it is too late to return it now. 😢
I have viewed many post about the size of carryon baggage and they dont say the same size. These are just strategies of these bloggers to gain more views.
I know. I just uploaded a scheduled video to cover the safe dimensions to consider because every airline is different but most of them are close to 22x14x9. So I searched about 7 carryons that are the same or lower. Keep an eye out for the video today or tmrw. Thanks for stopping by.
Too bad that the new luggage sizes aren’t the same as those introduced by the EU in September 2024. 55 x 40 x 20 cm for carry on and 40 x 20 x 15 cm for personal item. These sizes are small than the new standards in this video.
Next flight i wont be bringing a carry on you cant put @nything in it anyways if your suitcase weights 4 lbds and your only allowed 11 lbds what is the point
Talk about just making things difficult and confusing for your customers. I just dont think its worth it anymore. Luggage is sooo expensive now and especially if you travel only occasionally. (A new way for them to make more money, because you now HAVE to purchase a new bag because they've reduced it by 1 inch - 1 inch!!- really???) All airlines have different rules. Too many rules these days. Certainly not customer oriented anymore - just that bottom line profit is all that matters. Its shameful. I don't think airlines care about customers at all anymore. I feel like they would rather you don't fly at all - just give us your money! thats the vibe they give off.
A smart baggage without batteries won’t help when you’re trying to find your baggage, or when airlines lose your baggage, right? Might as well buy a simple baggage. They’re probably on cautious side on electronic interference… maybe?
😂😂😂😂 You absolutely right that’s what I said last month instead counting on 2 kilograms over carry on bags count on 120 kilograms Americans instead 70 kilo Asian men

I keep hearing that airlines are standardizing carry-on luggage and reducing sizes but I have scoured the internet and haven't found any information.
It's coming. They haven't fully rolled it out yet. Just get ready for it. In the meantime, if you are going to travel, check the airlines website.

Hi there. My luggage measurements are: 14.2 x 19.7 x 7.9 inches
