Old LT was only used bc it allowed you to surpass the BS Atk Spd cap. It would have been balanced if they just removed its synergy with AA resets like Yasuo/Yone Q or Jac W and of they removed the extra range. You’d still run it on those who like the Atk Spd like WW, Jinx, Yasuo/Yone/Jax would probably still run it. Not to mention theres no incentive anymore to build Atk Spd when every Zeal item loses AD and as you said HoB’s burst dmg surpasses any dmg that would have come from the Sustained Dmg LT gives
I've always used hail of blades instead of tempo , even when tempo was a thing it just didn't feel fast to me , hail of blades secures early kills + invades really smoothly
Hob is best on yi for 2 reasons, 1 it gives him more kill potential and 1 v 1 potential in the early game that the other runes don't. 2, It synergizes well with rageblade because the first 3 hits activate it's passive making you do more damage faster.
Lethal tempo just doesn't give the insta stack of rageblade and/or terminus that HOB gives Also why does the AS from LT matter when HOB is the only one that allows you to surpass AS cap?

Riot made it clear that the Trade off for building Atk Spd was offensive stats like AD. If you build 2 zeal items, you’re losing out on so much Attack Dmg that its not even funny. Six just feels like too much and four is probably too few, and if it offered the same attack speed and maybe a little bit more damage on hit...idk. it doesn't seem too advantageous to use over HoB for master yi. Maybe for Kayle or something it's better since she has range and auto resets/kiting potential
So im a kayle player and also tried LT. The worst for me is that it wants you to buy all this attackspeed for the on attack damage. But then youre still stuck on the 2.50 cap. I really think at max stacks the cap should be gone so that when im feeling freaky with my full attackspeed build I actually do damage
yeah i hovered over it to see what the numbers look like real quick i didnt fully understand cuz i didnt look at it for too long, or maybe its just so weak i thought thered be more to it, but yeah the numbers looked reaallyyyyy low, i guess they were scared of it being op again but that just seems unusably low.
Seems like a win more ruin? Like if you are ahead and winning, you can afford 6 plus autos to get the value. But if even, having super fast autos from HOB helps way more. So the like up front damage is always better untill like 10-16 autos? But how many fights do you actually get to that many autos and use that value? Especially early, mid game. Seems like if you can greed afk farm to late lethal is better, or if you have an enchanter, against a bunch of tanks. Else hob is better overall.

tl;dr in ur 20 minute korean games none of this matters ofc so worry, but past 20 minutes lethal tempo is not just strong it actually provides more dps than it did before removal in practice toool, with experimental hexplate bork and rageblade, trying with both hail of blades and with lethal tempo how much damage i do during an ultimate only autoattacking lvl 18, lethal tempo way outperforms in dps during an ultimate. 1 ultimate worth of attacks with this attackspeed and the doubling effect of rageblade was 2k dmg out of the 9 k dmg mr yi did to the enemy dummy. so in other words more than 20% of ur dmg total is the onhit effect of lethal tempo, where as hail of blades actually just increases ur dmg output with about 500 dmg and that also unfair because u actually need to do the 3 autos, its not instant even with the as buff from hail of blades. My point is, lethal tempo is a lot better in lategame teamfights dps wise than hail of blades is.... and lethal tempo isnt 40 dmg on hit. i cant see exactly but would guess it is about 250 dmg per auto. and thats 3 attack speed items. almost capping the damage, leaving room in the attackspeed build for more defensive finishing items like spirit visage guardian angel black cleaver and deaths dance. I honestly feel like the new lethal tempo is absurdly overpowered, but in general, but specifically on rageblade yi its absolutely cracked. as i said early game hail of blades is like idk 20 times better, so if all ur games are decided in the early game its obviously gonna be the best choice.
