There was v-shift then so offense was more oppressive and there were already deep characters like G but that wasn't the case for a couple of the characters. Maybe it was the departure of Ono from the company to get some fresher minds I'm charge but outside of season 3 Abigail and outside times where characters like Menat, Cammy, Urien and Akuma were busted SFV has been very good.
I played the demo yesterday for the first time, and got damn it's fresh and tight AF. There's virtually no delay between button presses and actions onscreen, and the fighting feels a bit more loose than SF5. And it looks DAMN good on PS5! Soon as I get paid, I will submit to the Preorder Gods.
This is the first Street Fighter I actually feel decent at just coming off of practicing in the demo the past few days. I’m actually chaining some nice combos together, and that’s hugely in part to this video. I had no idea that we could get DR out on Frame 1, but boy oh boy did it change my world, lol. I’ve always been a somewhat casual SF player since the early days, but I feel this game is finally the one that’s clicking for me and taking me to a new level, and that’s incredibly exciting. I’m beyond hyped for the full release.

This just reminds me of the days when we would gather around the TV/console and pull out the game mags that had all of the Alpha combos/counters and see who could reproduce as many of the combos on the page as we could and then try to pull them off in fights against each other. Ahh, those were the times~
Depends. Think what they are going for is to "balance" everyone by making everyone viable with many tools. Each character will have their own approach, ofcourse, but fleshed out tools. I hope they manage this. If this is the case, nobody is "a monster", they are all monsters. Just comes down to which character suits which player and play style and how that player skill pushes said character. I hope this happens. For once we may get a SF where the tier list is completely dependent on which character players love and how good they are with them.

Thanks Max that tip about forward and mediums opens the game and I didn't even know after most neutral buttons if you just hit forward twice immediately it green cancels as well without actually holding or tapping mediums. Game's F#@&% awesome. I'm a casual (not modern control casual) but I've been in that lab for like 4hrs now it's crazy fun....can't wait to try out Marisa 🔥

FYI you can do a slighty more damaging version of this combo by using 4HP instead of 5MP. Full transcript: 5HP xx denjin 214P, (MP+MK)66, 4HP xx 66 5HP xx 236LP, (MP+MK)66, 2MK xx 236KK, 623HP xx 236236P. Might be able to fit 4HK xx 623HP after 236KK, but I forget if that works in this juggle. In terms of the input method for the raw DR, I personally use the (MP+MK)6,6. It is a lot easier than 6,6+MP+MK and the one extra frame of parry startup doesn't really matter in juggle combos usually.

something saucy that i wish i could see again was mvc for ps1 where you can cancel super into super and you could combo till the corner than go shinku hadouken into shunkuu tatsu into air shinku hadouken. It felt so good
4:23 Another technique that also works well is to hold down the mediums while the juggle animation completes, then simply dash when you need the drive rush to come out. Since the juggle animation takes a while (e.g ex tatsu or charged hashogheki), the drive parry won’t come out while you’re holding the medium buttons and the drive rush will come out on frame 1 immediately after you dash. I find this method a bit easier as I’m just doing a normal dash instead of fwd, fwd + mp + mk.
The combos are endless with the drive rush system, this feels like such a different take on the SF style of combat and I’m loving it although it is a bit overwhelming at first to try and wrap my head around the possibilities
I don't know if you mentionned it on stream but , like the Cammy spécial from the animated movie , i find similarities when Ryu "buff" his biceps before the shin Shoryuken like vs Sagat in the intro of the animated movie... and i like that .

I disagree with that sentiment. The last two seasons of sfv were excellent. Plenty of depth on both the offensive and defensive end of things.
