I was a fan of Ed when Here Be Monsters was out. I was 3 or 4 years old and he was my favourite to listen to in the car. Then I fell out of awareness of what he was doing until about 2020 and now he's my favourite all over again. This is the first album aside from the instrumental albums I've been here to see the release of. I'm jumping for joy, cuz I also get to see him live in June!

    [Verse 1]
    And so this is blood
    Some kind of war
You know I'd walk to hell and back for more
    Then sweet relief
    Gracious in defeat
I'll crawl on a bed of nails if you let me speak
    [Chorus]
I bet you thought you'd never slip
Into the loving arms of your enemy
Now you've gone and missed the trick
Into the loving arms of your enemy
    [Verse 2]
    To be despised
    Some Anti-Christ
You feign outrage but underneath you're smiling
    Oh you gotta hang
    Guess that's too bad
But I got a heart that you don't want to rival
    [Chorus]
Bet you thought you'd never slip
Into the loving arms of your enemy
Now you've gone and missed the trick
Into the loving arms of your enemy
    [Verse 3]
    So now we're here
    The battle's won
My knees are weak and my heavy arms are gone
    I've got to say
    You play a good game
I think you knew the outcome all along
    [Bridge]
    Keep your demons strong
But keep your angels clean and sober
    Keep your friends so close
But keep your enemies much closer
    [Chorus]
I bet you thought you'd never slip
Into the loving arms of your enemy
Now you've gone and missed the trick
Into the loving arms of your enemy
Into the loving arms of your enemy
Into the loving arms of your enemy

Last time I listened to you was on a cd. You've been waiting for the mobile technology to mature, smart ;-) Great tune. Welcome back, welcome to my phone.

I feel like this was inspired by the book 48 laws of power.
