I’m so glad she put the health insurance companies on blast. They are horrible to deal with. Congratulations Sherri on your successful breast reduction and thank you for sharing your experience.
I think it depends on the insurance company. A plastic surgeon told me to go to a chiropractor first. Once the chiropractor says it's your breast, then you go to a doctor who specializes in reductions. Get all the documentation together and submit it to the insurance company
I had mine done I was a 42HHH and was constantly denied from insurance. I ended up getting the reduction I am a DD and love them. Please note I am 6ft tall so it fits me.
The crazy part is she would've been able to get it covered if it was considered a "gender confirmation/affirmation surgery" related to being tr^n$g3nd3r. They won't cover this procedure though because too many other women would (should) qualify as well... Insurance companies suck so much.
I'm a 42DD and my ins approved the 1st time. I did research 1st on ins site to see what were the requirements. I follow that and let my doctors document for about a year. Went to a plastic surgery with my files and was approved in less than 2 months.
I just had a breast reduction also, last month. My old insurance Florida Blue said they won’t cover a breast reduction for me an actual woman. But will cover new boobs for a man transitioning. That pissed me off. I changed insurance the next month and my new insurance covered it. Thanks Ambetter.
So happy for you, I had my reduction about 10 years ago from a 40JJ to a 40D and never regretted my decision. My back, shoulders, arms & the numbness in my hands gone! Thanks for bringing up the insurance issue.
Im so glad she finally did it!!! Go Sherri!!! I hate when I hear ppl saying just love yourself the way you are you don’t need surgery. That’s bs!! Do whatever makes you feel better and look better period. Some things working out can’t fix
Thank you for speaking out about this. Having pain due to a large chest is a real thing, and it can be emotionally and physically damaging. There’s a lot that goes into it that people don’t know unless you have a big chest yourself or are close to someone who does. Congratulations Sherry!
Not to mention spending a minimum of $55 for ONE BRA!!! I have been thinking about breast reduction myself. But since I've now lost 58 pounds, my doctor said to wait until I've lost all I can since that might help lose some of the boobage. 🤗😅
My insurance covered mine as well. Its a shame that some insurances won't cover it for women who need a reduction, or they force physicians to prove that women need the procedure in order to cover those services. Women's rights getting more difficult each year in healthcare. That's why we need more women on Capitol Hill or in office to fight for our rights!💪🏽
Sherri, you are sooooo..... refreshingly transparent! You tell everything about your personal life before the Press gets a chance to in there own distorted fashion. I loveeeee your honesty. And if I could afford Breast Surgery, I would SERIOUSLY CONSIDER IT because my "gurls" are larger than yours were pre your surgery. Thank you for always being you. You are the voice of every woman who is too shy or too timid to share or speak out on important full-figured women issues....😊❤❤
Welcome back Queen. I am glad the surgery went well. You always look amazing and I know they had to be causing some health issues cause you seem to be a strong and confident woman who would not cave to the pressure of criticism over your body. Looking forward to a great season.
I had a breast reduction March of 2003 when I was 20. I had seen a plastic surgeon in high school, but being a child with only her father that visit did not go well. I'm sure it was something my dad didn't want to or couldn't deal with. Like Sherri said it was bittersweet. But I dont regret it at all. I was so happy to go out and celebrate my 21st bday, I was able to percolate at the club without smacking myself in the face. You do you Sherri...be blessed ❤
❤🎉 thank you so much for sharing light on this. I have been trying to get a breast reduction for nearly 7 years. My first insurance company told me the only way they would pay for one is if I had breast cancer now how sad to tell somebody that they have to have breast cancer before you’ll help them when they’re trying to prevent something like that my new insurance company, however is more supportive It still took me having my clavicle bone removed from the weight of my breasts and I am much larger than you are but I am happy to say that I’m finally getting one November 1 so thank you so much for sharing your story. it makes me a little less anxious to have this done. I’ve been wanting it and now that it’s here I am scared at how they will look. Your confidence is inspiring me
Thankfully I had Blue Crosss Blue Shield PPO And I worked for the Hospital that did mine. My Insurance paid for it a 100%. THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE IN MY LIFE!! Everything that Sherri said, I felt the same way. Now I have so much more confidence ever... CONGRATULATIONS TO US!!! ❤💪🏾🙏🏾
Sherri! You look amazing! I also had breast reduction back in 2019 (42H now 42C) and it was the best decision I had ever made. I also had a baby in May and my breast haven't changed at all. I am so glad that you've brought up how insurance doesn't support women's health in particular because they don't, especially prescriptions. Again, congratulations, you look amazing.
As a busty woman it's great that reductions are available. The pain they cause in your back and shoulders is excruciating. I was wearing a triple d cup until I lost some weight and I was so tired. Good for her.
My Mom was a Double D for the longest. Her doctor's tried for nearly 5-years to get her insurance to pay for a Breast reduction. My Mom was so bad that her bra strap had permanently dug a "trench" into her shoulders. The weight was shifting her spine. Fast forward to 2011, My Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, she needed surgery to remove it. (Along with Chemo but that's a whole other story.) She had a Double Mastectomy. Now 11-years later she's a Survivor and her health is Better for it. When the world says 'No way', that's when God steps in and says, 'Get out my way.'" 💜🙏🏾☺️
I had a breast reduction 7 years ago and it is without a doubt the BEST thing I have EVER done for myself!!! I have the anchor scar too. I can still go without a bra and they're still just as perky as ever. I'm soooo happy I did it. Now you get to wear tops that are your actual size. Wait until you go bathingsuit shopping. I will be a wonderful experience now.
My daughter is a 42DD as well. She is 31 and I've been asking her to get a breast reduction since she was in her 20s. She was like nope, they don't bother me. I'm thinking this will happen to her as she becomes older. You look amazing Sherri 👏🏾. So happy you're not having back issues. Edit. I appreciate all of your comments. So let me respond. 1st: My daughter is 5"2 and 120 lbs. I'm concerned for her back as she becomes older. 2nd: She and I have discussed it since she was 25 and although she doesn't want to have the surgery now she is open to the possibly. Her PCP has also suggested she should reduce based on her weight. We have a great mother/daughter relationship and she understands my concerns. There is no badgering her to have surgery.
why are you asking her to do surgery on HER body , your ridiculos especially since she already told you she doesn't have physical discomfort. Plus 42 DD is large but no where close to Gigantomastia
I'm so glad I have my RUclips notifications on for your show. WELCOME BACK SHERI AND CREW!! I remember you saying on your Two Funny Mamas podcast you were going to get a breast reduction but just needed the time to get it done. YOU LOOK GREAT SHERRI❤💯
Wow You hit it right on the head, I felt everything you said . I had breast reduction like 10 years ago and went through the same problem . I weight 115 lbs and was a 40DD , I’m diagnose with scoliosis because of that weight daily and I have to save money for 3 years to cover the surgery cause insurance didn’t accept it . I even got rejected a higher position because of my appearance (skinny , blue eyes and huge breast) and was told nobody will take me seriously cause I look like a pole dancer . It is extremely emotionally, physically and mentally damaging . Now I don’t have to wear a bra and feel better about myself. I was literally in tears of joy hearing your story. Sooooo happy for you 😘
PTL Sherri…Praying for you to heal whole, healthy and happy. Hopefully you are living your life exactly as you planned it. We love you: continued good success to you💯💌!
I'm happy for you Sherri and I can relate. I had extremely large breast and unfortunately and fortunately at the same time, I was diagnosed with very early stage of breast cancer last year and had surgery. During my surgery, I had breast reduction and let me tell you, I know how you feel! I love my new girls!!!!...Went from an F cup to a B-C cup. Blessings to you...
That was my story 3 months ago....early breast cancer. The diagnosis presented the possibility of the reduction after my lumpectomy. A blessing did come from the scary parts
So glad you’re back cause you was missed!!! And you look fabulous!!!😊So nice to see you had them done and it’s so nice to see you so happy. God bless you always and that God keeps blessing you mama.❤
She looks amazing! This just made me smile bc I proudly share my story of a reduction and I've literally been telling ppl the exact same thing that Sherri explained since 2018. Luckily my insurance did pay for mines bc I had the same exact issues as her and they deemed it medical necessary. I didn't get a lift or anything like that bc all I wanted was for them to be gone. And I definitely don't be wearing bras😂
I am sooo glad you talked about this. My daughter was in a 46 M/N!!!!! She was HUGE!!!! She has recently lost a lot of weight but prior to the insurance company denied her because of her needing to lose 80 pounds. Well now the weight is gone!! I pray they give her the reduction she needs because at her age (22) she is too young to have such large breast. Well with the weight loss no lie they are thin and long like two #2 pencils.
Sherri looks GOODT! Can't believe insurance turned her down. 😮 She's really transformed herself. She shared the info, too...doctor, insurance etc. Way to go Sherri!
Sherrie, I know this is private and personal, but thank you for sharing your story with other women who might be suffering with the same condition in “SILENCE.”❤❤😀 9:09
I had a breast reduction too. It was the best thing ever! I always wondered why Sherri didn't get one. She seems to be happy and she will realize how much freer she will feel being smaller.

People don’t realize the importance of you talking about your boobs, thank you for being open about surgeries that bring you closer to a HAPPIER YOU❤ and even if I am a male I appreciate the fact that is ok to pursue my happiness and health by whatever means.
So happy for you! I was worried about your back not what everybody else was saying. Gravity took over lol. It gets harder when you get older to lose weight. You look great girl!
I’m so glad she put the health insurance companies on blast. They are horrible to deal with. Congratulations Sherri on your successful breast reduction and thank you for sharing your experience.
And she definitely qualified for it

Tried too hard and still is copy-cating! But during writers strike, I'll watch for interesting guests on the show!

Sherri looks amazing and it sounds like she's living a healthier lifestyle. Good for her!
I've been wearing Ruby woo MAC lipstick for about 10 years

So happy for you, I had my reduction about 10 years ago from a 40JJ to a 40D and never regretted my decision. My back, shoulders, arms & the numbness in my hands gone! Thanks for bringing up the insurance issue.
How long were you down for wow I wish I could get mine done
Insurance - it's crazy because it's not like she doesn't qualify for a reduction .
I want to reduce from 38M, but have a concern about the cost. I can't wait to buy regular-sized tops.
Im so glad she finally did it!!! Go Sherri!!! I hate when I hear ppl saying just love yourself the way you are you don’t need surgery. That’s bs!! Do whatever makes you feel better and look better period. Some things working out can’t fix

No lie I wondered for years if Ms. Sherri would ever get them reduced. Glad everything worked out.
She is too damn much, so real and down to earth. GOD BLESS THIS LADY
I had my surgery done a long time ago and everything you described was everything I went through, and it felt great being bra free
I got mine too 2 yrs ago but I feel like when I gain weight I feel like they get bigger. Also it was so big that they can only remove that much.
I am screaming with joy that you liked my comment. This is truly going to make my whole day today. Thank you
I had one too. I rarely wear a bra now. One of the greatest things to happen to me!
