    I saw you on tv! Lol
    Doing the darce, I have to say I prefer to squish their arm with my chest. However, your setup is awesome awesome!!
    Edit: instead of sitting on my foot to protect from the sweep, I'll use a wide base but turn my knee closest to his hips inward, which puts my foot under my junk. It gives me a post, hides my foot from quarter guard and sweeps, and puts my weight closer to his chest for squishing or 'dropping' into the darce

    Always one of my favourite chokes, the feedback that you feel is something else. Also, i loved your live streaming video during UFC 239 as i think you're the perfect person to do so with events such as that. Would love to see you do that again soon mate 🥋🤙 Oss

    So is this more like neck crank kind of chock or blood choke. When I had some try it on me, it felt like cranking. Wonder if I am doing this right.

    • @whittazhau
      @whittazhau 5 лет назад +1

      I'm of the opinion as a long armed person that if I go too deep with my arm it turns into a crank, but if I simply go a thumb length past their length and then tighten from other side I tend to not crank them. There are of course other variables such as what the opponent does to defend etc. Brian of course might disagree completely

    • @kghkfyxk
      @kghkfyxk 5 лет назад

      it's a neck crank, the direction of the choke in the video is opposite to a normal darce. watch this video by joe rogan and it's pretty much the same thing where he calls it a neck crank darce because of the opposite motion.

      Everyone seems to have an opinion here. So as one of my favourite chokes to perform (darce, head and arm choke, anaconda, Peruvian neck tie ❤️), I'll say it's both. It is definitely intended to be a blood choke. However, if it's locked up, but you missed something technically, it's definitely a finishing crank. I do my darce with extra focus on trying to squish their arm in the darce with my chest. Whereas my anaconda choke my focus is the squeeze and trapping the leg(s). Head and arm, the focus is squeeze and moving my body away from theirs. All are blood chokes, but can just as easily be cranks.

    love your channel and this looks good (like your top side mount mith one knee up), but the way you lock your hands leaves an entire pathway for escapes and counters open....I will soon upload a number of videos adressing the weakness of this old school way of locking the grip

      How do you lock your hands?

      @@TeachMeGrappling i use a shallow forearm grip (using a mokey grip with four fingers on the ullna bone close to the wrist, with the flat backside of my forearm on my opponent`s neck,while mentaining "a loose wrist" to help assist in tightening the sling. @@TeachMeGrappling this modified way of locking your hands allows not only for a much stronger strangle (no neck crank at all), but also offers you much better control over your opp as well as much quicker transitions into other techniques like an arm in gilloutine.....I wish i could show you,, greets from europe

    You know how they say there are no stupid questions? Well I'm the runt of the litter so that's automatically my job. How is this different from the anaconda choke? I think it's almost the same but the finish is maybe a little different but I can't remember anymore. 🙀

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  5 лет назад +2

      The anaconda is like the darce like the triangle is to the reverse triangle. With the anaconda you enter your arm where the neck is, then you lock near the arm. With the darce, you enter your where their arm is, locking near the neck. 🤷‍♂️
