The second lady was profoundly annoying. She's obviously been dying her hair for a long time yet doesn't understand the basics. She definitely had the colour she wanted as well as the blue.....
Yeah her whole channel is her doing dumb shit to her hair and calling everyone haters if they tell her she's doing dumb shit. She's obviously getting the likes and views though.
Agreed... She is quite annoying because she is acting dumb on purpose. She actually had the exact color on the box at the end. If she had waited for a week to 10 days, washing just the root area, it would have faded down to a dead ringer for the box. FERIA is actually an EXCELLENT home colour brand. It uses a very strong developer, and usually gives great results. Her hair is very fried, so obviously she achieved uneven result. Her damaged ends don't hold onto the dye molecules as well as the roots and mids. The excessive saturation from pigments is because her hair is excessively so porous. She doesn't really understand how the products she is using work.
I've been using the same L'Oréal to cover my roots for years. I had down to my bra strap length hair and I would divide a single box into 2 because there was just too much even when I went all the way to my ends. Now my hair is just to the top of my shoulders and I struggle with a full box to have enough to get half way down the hair strand. Before I had a super soupy foamy drippy head of goop and now it is barely wet and a bit sad. *Somebody* has been changing the quantities in their packaging and not saying anything.
I would need like 3-4 boxes of dye...I think people are cheap and want to spent as less money as possible...so they just hope 1 box is enough.... for me, using proper products and enough of it saves me a lot money in the end...Since using better bleach I need less aftercare😊
I use Feria for my hair. I've found that it's one of the best brands. Of course, I don't do anything crazy, I just do a nice golden brown. My hair is longer than hers, I use one box, and it's more than enough. I laughed pretty hard at "That's kinky." You are awesome, Hair Buddha. This is why we love you.
Yeah.. I use this exact color. And have thick ,waist length hair. One box is just enough. I think it has more to do with application. If you use too much in one area you aren’t going to have enough for the whole head.
@@thaismatsumoto I wish I had long hair like that. But, my hair is curly, and the curls get weighed down as it gets longer. It's been trial and error trying to find the right products. I have plenty in one box.
Easy. Because, as per instructions, once you mixed the dye you have a rather limited time to apply it. Chemistry is a complicated bitch, right? 😜 So, the setting time of the test strand will make the rest of the box dye expire 🤓 And as we all know, they always only have one box 😅
It is both. That's what I like about Fiera - the variety of color so it gives depth. Some colors are the same all over. I've gotten good results but never panic over the color before washing. I actually liked the result! particularly compared to what she started with.
I think I see more purple than blue, but it's a spectrum, so it's hard to say exactly where the line is 😂 I do think it is such a scam that box dye companies don't even give enough product to colour short hair with one box. Personally, I think they should be required to say how much you get and how much you would need for x length, y thickness hair.
I don't know how it works in the US, and frankly last time I've used a box dye it was in the last century. here in Italy the box always indicate something along the lines of "one dose of product will cover X cm long hair of average thickness". Which implies "if you have more hairs, do your math and buy more boxes" 😅 But seriously, do we expect the kind of people featured here to really read instructions on a box dye? 😂😂😂
@@nimeryaspawnbrd1049the boxes do say you may need to use more than one box. The issue though is that it only says that if you have really thick hair or long hair. Those of us who don’t have either have to rely on common sense. Unfortunately, there’s too many people who don’t much of that.
You are correct, the lengths are the same color as the box in the second RUclipsr, but the roots are darker. I bet it's patchy under the styling, but the color turned out better than I expected. Too bad she's not happy with it. She should watch your channel, then she'd know to have 2 boxes do the lengths first then roots and take smaller sections.
Well...my husband has dyed my hair for several years now. Sometimes I use box dye and sometimes I use colours like manic panic. Right now I have a mohawk that is striped (purple and pink). I love it! 🎉
"That's not platinum." Exactly my thought as I was platinum when I was young. I was seeing more purple on the bangs as it looked like the dye sat longer. The back and sides were more the smokey color.
Its’s like a weird dark periwinkle, which is a mix of blue and purple. On her hair, that was straight purple. I feel like I’m having a weird flashback to that stupid viral dress where you had to guess the colors. 😂 You can definitely see that the box color isn’t what she got. I used Féria for years, and I had really long hair (down to my butt). For all over color, I needed three boxes. One of their boxes definitely has more than the typical box dye, but it’s always best to get at least two if you’re going all over. I needed one full box to do just my roots… and now I use henna and my hair is happier.
I always learn so much from Hair Buddha's reactions and they save me from making many mistakes! Also love his fashion sense so cool especially the rings he wears :)
Definitely purple, not blue. Anyone who colors using box dye should know the color is different before you wash it out. It usually says in the directions that it's not going to be the final result. I thought it looked okay. Just okay, not great, but not terrible. The green eye shadow was terrible.
I think a lot of dyes professional or box are a different color when developing. I remember there was a RUclipsr that made a video warning people not to use a certain hair dye COMPANY because of the color it was on her head developing is not the same as the box. Meanwhile her hair came out fine. She call them liars everything. I’ll never forget how stupid she was because she did the clickbait title. I think it was a Madison Reed video.
I have long, thick hair, and I used to dye mine with one box all the time. Dye is small sections using a rat tail comb to divide them. Color the ends at the end. Start in the back. You only need a bit to fully cover the roots, and when ALL of your roots are done, use the rest of the bottle and what's on your head to saturate the rest of your hair. That said, I swore off dying my hair because I started to see some silver shine in my roots. YAY, natural grey!
Why did she even try that color if she doesn't like purple since it had purple/blue tones in it? I don't get it. Great fun to watch though and thank you Buddha for the funny comments. Greetings from the states🙂
You’re right it’s that silver purple color on the side and throughout actually. I think it looks so much better than her yellow hair. Honestly, it even looks shiny.
Lol I see blue on the box, but I've learned that people do see colors differently my husband and I do after getting in several arguments over colors of things. I came across a test that gets you identify colors you can see I can see more colors than he can.
Lol 😂 my husband and I have a blanket. I say it's green. It is olive green. He sees grey... not green. We have even brought in other people and 50/50. But we did a color match and it's an ashy olive green.

10:11 I see silver 😂 but I understand why some say blue and some say purple... as color exists in spectrum/range perception can be different. Even culture, age and other personal experiences can change perception (I guess). So both (blue/purple) can be correct as we can see that this colour is near both colours...
You are NOT colour-blind - it is purple. I rather like the final colour. I hope she doesn't mess it up again - but I am pretty confident she will. Love your channel!
You are not at all wrong, Hair Buddah. Your colour perception is working correctly. Some day, you will come across a video where a person watched your stuff and LISTENED! On that day, there will be great rejoicing🎉
Actually you are very wrong, if you use box dye according to the directions and pick the right color you can get great results, my hair will not accept professional dyes such as Wella, and framar they don't work on my hair at all because my hair is resistant to color because of greys, I use Revlon box dye for many years on myself and my mom and we get very good results, if people followed directions and know what color will work you can get beautiful results, recently my friend told me every time he got his hair done professionally he was never satisfied with the color I told him to try a box dye from Garnier or feria and loves the color and texture, not all box dye is bad, I used to dye my hair black when I was younger and I used box dye and had the shiniest black hair ever.
@@EsmeraldaWolfsbane7777not all box dye are bad but they do exaggerate certain colours, especially blonde, they always show dark brown hair will turn platinum in one go which is false

I used LOreal fashion colours before. Always, and I repeat, always, I needed two boxes for chin lenght hair. And they are damaging as heck. Now I use a conditioner with direct pigments from a polish brand, great results, very vibrant at first, washes out to pretty pastels, and to get rid of all the colour bleach Bath is enough (done pink, navy and blue, and mixed some to get sea-green and lilac. The brand is Magic and I do recommend it).
I have used box dyes for over 10 years. I have had short hair and shoulder length hair and have always used one box with extra left. Maybe because I am covering gray and putting excess on my hair that is the same color. When I finally get the nerves to go lighter, I will get two boxes. Thanks for the great info. I'm a natural blonde and don't really dye my hair, I can just go in the sun and it lightens naturally but now that I'm old and get white hairs believe it or not a can just once a year do a peroxide rinse to tone down the white, most drastic I ever did was cut it to hip length because it was between my knee and ankle and gave me headaches, but if I did ever want to color it I'd prefer to go to a shop where they know what they are doing
No it’s violet and purple.💯agree with you.💜 I’m happy she said no give it a break and didn’t immediately strip what left of her extremely damaged cuticle.
The reds in the Feria line are VERY pretty anything blue or purple or other color that isn’t natural-ish… don’t do it! Especially if it’s splat it’ll be a pain getting it out of your hair later on and the color you’ll get won’t match what the box says you’ll get or by sheer luck you’ll get it but it won’t last as long as you think it will. @@thegreenmanofnorwich I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a mixture of both techniques. Using a wig and altering the color digitally…
That’s why I don’t dye mine, not even temporary color. Mine is mostly white/gray. Not about to ruin it for some temporary fun lol.
I love your voice, it's soothing. And your channel is fantastic. Thank you for teaching us the proper ways to transform our hair. 😊
I agree and his voice is also the right balance to the vastly annoying people's voices he critiques.
The second one is working hard for alopecia 😂😂 you'll get there soon, keep up the great job!
Her brand is clearly "trainwreck" so I bet she's deliberately self-sabotaging
I think all the hair dye chemicals have gone to her brain.
I need one box just to touch up my roots. How people expect it to cover the whole head is beyond me
Exactly
I've been using the same L'Oréal to cover my roots for years. I had down to my bra strap length hair and I would divide a single box into 2 because there was just too much even when I went all the way to my ends. Now my hair is just to the top of my shoulders and I struggle with a full box to have enough to get half way down the hair strand. Before I had a super soupy foamy drippy head of goop and now it is barely wet and a bit sad. *Somebody* has been changing the quantities in their packaging and not saying anything.
Nordic middle aged woman here. One box is enough 😂
I have short thin hair. One box with leftover
How do none of these people ever do a STRAND TEST 🤡
Easy.
Because, as per instructions, once you mixed the dye you have a rather limited time to apply it.
Chemistry is a complicated bitch, right? 😜
So, the setting time of the test strand will make the rest of the box dye expire 🤓
And as we all know, they always only have one box 😅
Especially when using fashion colours and not natural shades! Madness.
Can’t be arsed! As someone that has had nearly every hair colour, never done a stand test. 😂
My thought is if I fuck up, I can just cut it off 😅.
Who does a strand test?? Not even professionals do that.
“That’s kinky” hahah Hair Buddha I’m dead 💀😂 that was so funny!
10:10 On the box i see light greyish blue. My monitor has very good calibration to see true colors.
It is both. That's what I like about Fiera - the variety of color so it gives depth. Some colors are the same all over. I've gotten good results but never panic over the color before washing. I actually liked the result! particularly compared to what she started with.
Me too. I thought the end result was cute.
There is a tint of purple, probably from the colors they mix to get that "smokey" effect.
I think I see more purple than blue, but it's a spectrum, so it's hard to say exactly where the line is 😂
I do think it is such a scam that box dye companies don't even give enough product to colour short hair with one box.
Which implies "if you have more hairs, do your math and buy more boxes" 😅
But seriously, do we expect the kind of people featured here to really read instructions on a box dye? 😂😂😂
@@nimeryaspawnbrd1049the boxes do say you may need to use more than one box. The issue though is that it only says that if you have really thick hair or long hair. Those of us who don’t have either have to rely on common sense. Unfortunately, there’s too many people who don’t much of that.
Funny I use this exactly product in this color and me box is enough for all my hair. And I have thick ,waist length hair.
That’s absolutely PURPLE
You are correct, the lengths are the same color as the box in the second RUclipsr, but the roots are darker. I bet it's patchy under the styling, but the color turned out better than I expected. Too bad she's not happy with it. She should watch your channel, then she'd know to have 2 boxes do the lengths first then roots and take smaller sections.
I was drinking water...you made me choke on it, with," that's kinky " comment 😅😂
🤣
Well...my husband has dyed my hair for several years now. Sometimes I use box dye and sometimes I use colours like manic panic. Right now I have a mohawk that is striped (purple and pink). I love it! 🎉
"That's not platinum." Exactly my thought as I was platinum when I was young. I was seeing more purple on the bangs as it looked like the dye sat longer. The back and sides were more the smokey color.
The progression of “It is PURPLE” is 100% relatable 😂 Where is the blue?! I see no blue! Let alone sapphire blue!
The color on the box looks like a bluish silver to me but her end result looks like arctic fox periwinkle which is like a blue purple color 🤷🏼♀️
Definitely purple, not blue. Anyone who colors using box dye should know the color is different before you wash it out. It usually says in the directions that it's not going to be the final result. I thought it looked okay. Just okay, not great, but not terrible. The green eye shadow was terrible.
I agree that green is horrid
100% agree
I think a lot of dyes professional or box are a different color when developing. I remember there was a RUclipsr that made a video warning people not to use a certain hair dye COMPANY because of the color it was on her head developing is not the same as the box. Meanwhile her hair came out fine. She call them liars everything. I’ll never forget how stupid she was because she did the clickbait title. I think it was a Madison Reed video.
The lip color was also horrible. And together with the green eye shadow and yellow hair? Wow.
It's just makeup. She's a pretty girl.
5:00 Your facial expression is freakin priceless! 😂
Too true, I see bluish purple, definitely more of a periwinkle shade.
You’re right it’s that silver purple color on the side and throughout actually. I think it looks so much better than her yellow hair. Honestly, it even looks shiny.
It looks a zillion times better than the yellowish color she started with... much better for her skin tone.
1. Does she not see the huge spots she missed? Several were in the front! 😂
2. Its not the product it's the base color and the application.
The last one.. honestly I think the color is really pretty!
Most women see more colours than most men. And there are more men who are colourblind than women
@@ella_cinder4361This. They’ve done studies on it. On top of seeing more colors than men on average, women are more educated on colors from younger ages too. That isn’t to say that some men can’t see more colors than the average person. I imagine hair stylists and artists are far better are differentiating between color shades than the average person as well
Some of the best videos on RUclips are the big macho guys trying the colorblind Enchroma glasses and crying over the true colors of blue purple green and red
@UnicornsPoopRainbows Funnily enough his mother is a hairdresser and I know i see more colors than she does based on the amount if times we have had misunderstandings on the colors in my own hair when I've had it lighted and such and was going for a certain color or tone and she sees it as the same color as the picture but I do not lol.
Sir I am watching a marathon of your videos on this snowy day in Illinois! Thank you for the education and laughter! Bless you!🙏🏼🍿🍿🍿
You can turn bleached hair grey or silver with a toner! I would never put a box dye on top of my bleached hair.
I have 4 boxes of this dye in my cupboard. It was on sale. The silver really does a number on my hair. I like the color
For someone who has red naturally in my hair, I always want to laugh at people who think that the little pink left won't make a difference.
It won't make a difference as long as you stay on the same side of the color wheel.
10:11 I see silver 😂 but I understand why some say blue and some say purple... as color exists in spectrum/range perception can be different. Even culture, age and other personal experiences can change perception (I guess). So both (blue/purple) can be correct as we can see that this colour is near both colours...
THANK You❣️⚘️Thought I was the only one seeing Silver/Gray.Purple and or Blue ,lol!!!Its Silver/Gray.😅
You are NOT colour-blind - it is purple.
I rather like the final colour. I hope she doesn't mess it up again - but I am pretty confident she will.
Love your channel!
so happy I stopped coloring my hair, happy with my hair now, be happy with yourself, love your expertise! and video!
Je mettais du leave in conditionner en spray dans mes cheveux afro et je m'étonnais à penser: "take fine section !" 😂😂😂
That’s definitely PURPLE! 💜 The lengths are close to the box and the front is definitely purple! 💜😂
You are not at all wrong, Hair Buddah. Your colour perception is working correctly. Some day, you will come across a video where a person watched your stuff and LISTENED! On that day, there will be great rejoicing🎉
You're absolutely right. It's PURPLE! You're always right.
Don't worry, we see purple too😂
I’m with you on the first-I see PURPLE too! The box sample is a little more on the blue side of purple, but definitely not just blue.
What do people expect from a box dye?!?! You must be living on another planet if you think your hair will turn out exactly the colour on the box!
@@Indahowse No they don't show that. I use box dye to lighten my hair and it is clearly writen and shown that if you have darker hair than a middle blonde (sometimes a dark blonde if you use not a platinum dye) you should not use the product. I dye my hair for several year now and had the platinum some years ago. It worked but i have a natural middle blonde which was the darkest recommended colour!
@@xyz.Axolotl ok you dye your hair and I have done hairdressing lol, I don’t know where you live but where I do they definitely exaggerate the colours on the box and no it doesn’t give a warning on each hair dye…
It will if you start out with white hair.
Hair Buddha you are right! It’s purple! It’s a very pretty purple! I think I will stick to clip in extensions if I want some extra color.
as a stylist, i love that people do this. It means so much more money for us when they come in to have it fixed.
I know right 😂 I'm a stylist to
Unless the hair is already dead to the extend that if you try to ''fix it'' it's going to fall out.
I LOVE the second girl! Her videos are so funny!!! She’s the best!!
At being an idiot
A string of hair is called a ‘strand’ ie “Your hair strands are very porous.” “If you look at a strand (of hair) under a microscope, you can see how porous it is.”
I’m not bashing your English by any means, it is FANTASTIC! I love your content and I learn so much while being entertained. I’m just an ESL teacher and ‘strand’ doesn’t really come up often in classes but it is very useful for hair stylists ❤
Nothing worse than Kitchen Beauticians …..
💯😂
I have horror experiences. Skunk striping. But also stylist fails. Very expensive mistakes.
I have used box dyes for over 10 years. I have had short hair and shoulder length hair and have always used one box with extra left. Maybe because I am covering gray and putting excess on my hair that is the same color. When I finally get the nerves to go lighter, I will get two boxes. Thanks for the great info. I watch you often and laugh alot at your expressions and comments.
They keep saying blue because they incorrectly associate the name sapphire with blue.
You Rock Hair Buddha! LMAO I love listening to you!!
C.O.L.O.R. W.H.E.E.L. My goodness.

Professionals won’t color correct over splat dye??? What??? No way lady, that’s a cope to do it yourself
It can be really difficult to get splat out because it contains fabric dye.
@@hells_shellsdid you know all direct hair dye and fabric dye are essentially the same, except the fabric has a mordant. If it dyes natural fiber it will dye hair.
@codename495 yes. My hairdresser even said they looked into it, and that's why splat is so difficult to get out of hair. The formula is closer to fabric dye than any other semi-permanent direct pigmet hair color line available in the states.
@@hells_shellsyup, and because of it being far closer to fabric dye than hair dye trying to correct it by lightening can make it so much worse driving it further into the hair. Used a cheapo fashion dye once that was similar and it was a nightmare.
12:00 I do see the purple hue on the hair. But on the box, I mostly see blue.
Trying to be kind, but what’s wrong with DYE hard Barbies lips? If she wants to apply lipstick overly to make lips larger? Or maybe she just has big lips…. then please do it straight n not all over the joint.
Errrmmm, it’s PURPLE not blue , lol.
Nothing about that makeup is right for her!
Way OVER extenuating the lips and that green is making her even paler than she already is- sorry, not good!
Lol 'this beautiful blonde' raises eyebrows.....no words required
Splat dye sucks and L’Oréal Hair dyes suck
Yeah I see light indigo and I've always thought of indigo as a purple/blue so the slightest amount of yellow or orange will change it either way 😅 thankyou for the video!
I think it’s about time we all agree, collectively, that if we want hair the colour we want, we should all go to the hairdressers 😅
I see purple, too! :'D ETA: I laughed SO HARD at "IT"S NOT BLUE!" LoL thanks for the much-needed chuckles!! :D
The first girl is gorgeous. She's one of those natural beauties that destroy themselves with ugly hair and terribly applied make up. I can see another face there, buried entirely. Aw, I wish I could bring my kit with me and show the world what I see when I look at her, all that potential to knock the socks off every unsuspecting passer by...😃✌
I see PURPLE toooo! But I am slightly colorblind 😂💜💜💜
I have used box color before and it’s always fine for me. I have thick long hair so I usually buy 5 boxes I usually only go through 3 or 4 but I am terrified of not having enough so I buy extra and figure I won’t need to buy more when I do my roots
I love all your videos. Your point of view is always spot on ❤❤❤❤
I see purple as well and it’s like a train wreck you don’t want to watch but you just got too 😂

I see purple as well!
L’Oréal Féria on me always came out 2 or 3 shades darker then the box lol

Two very good Lessons.I see all of the colors Purple/Blue/SmokeySilverGray.Thankyou Hair Buddha 💜💙🩵🩶😄❣️⚘️💯
No it’s violet and purple.💯agree with you.💜
I’m happy she said no give it a break and didn’t immediately strip what left of her extremely damaged cuticle.
I gave up on box dye matching a long time ago. I just pick a color and roll with it. Bin interesting.
You are the best!😂😂😂😂😂
The reds in the Feria line are VERY pretty anything blue or purple or other color that isn’t natural-ish… don’t do it! Especially if it’s splat it’ll be a pain getting it out of your hair later on and the color you’ll get won’t match what the box says you’ll get or by sheer luck you’ll get it but it won’t last as long as you think it will.
Now I’m devoted to and only buy manic panic , arctic fox, or good dye young depends on what shade I’m after honestly.
I'd probably add a little bit of white Dye to dilute the the blue
i love that shade of purpley colour,i'm deffo gonna buy some of that stuff lol.
