I used to own a day spa in Long Beach called Trabuco. No Doubt members were customers. We installed video monitors and played their videos. Thanks for those wonderful years No Doubt! We love you!
good guys...love them....noticed over 26 years no drama between each other like drugs and alcohol abuse, they proved you can play music without abusing. :)
The whole group really is great. Met them all several times over the years, pre-fame and post, and their heads are screwed on so right. So humble, so grateful, so honest, so kind, so dorky, so awesome, and they bask in their fame and radness without abusing it or getting in trouble or coming off like dicks. They really do have it all!
oh dont be fooled, they drank and done drugs like most artists. but never let it in get out of hand IMO. Ive seen pics from the late 80s of Bradley from sublime smoking weed with Gwen. But i dont think No Doubt needed it to perform.
From a fan - the emotional angst of "Don't Speak" is when I began listening and appreciating No Doubt - young love lost - thinking nothing of Gwen and Tony and the battle they were experiencing emotionally; just ME and MY emotional experiences with boyfriends. Weird how things happen.
Life was WAY better without RUclips, fb, and twitter. I remember how much more valuable liner notes seemed. A single image would mean something and stick with you. Now everything is processed instantly and spat out, forgotten. So sad and completely out of our control.
Ridley On Steroids I disagree, Digital music lacks the warmth of analogue. too many artists/singers are DEPENDENT on studio effects such as autotune. Studio's are more like editing suites as opposed to recording studio's. You can buy music without anything just an MP3 file. I used to love buying a new vinyl LP and looking at the artwork, seeing who produced, engineered, mastered it etc, etc. Everything is so disposable these days, although i read recently that vinyl is selling more again. The only positive is convenience, although I'm not even sure that is a positive because listening is no longer an 'event'. Plus everything sounds like bad renditions of old songs. I'm afraid Ridley, I agree with Rose Redd.
all you said is true, but when it comes to modern technology, it is much easier to find, listen to the music you want thanks to the internet, and you have the ability to look up bands and find new ones in genres, it is much easier for newer bands to put up something on the internet and promote it thanks to soundcloud and etc. etc.
Ridley On Steroids I think you're missing the point i was making about listening to music being "an event", either trawling through second hand record shops (or new for that matter), reading what's on the sleeve and deciding whether to take a punt on it and then getting it home, sliding it from its sleeve onto the platter and gently dropping the needle onto the vinyl and listening. Deciding whether it'll grow on you or not. Too much these days is at the touch of a button, I prefer to make listening to my music an event, not an exercise in mouse clicking, too many things these days are "instant" and yes we all know about progress, you go and watch a band live and all you see are idiots recording it instead of enjoying "The event". Lets just agree to disagree!
yes, lets agree to disagree :), oh and, yeah the whole "idiots recording instead of enjoying the event...i totally friggin agree, i've never been to a big major concert but concerts i've seen on YT, i see a sea of Ipads, if that is the point you're trying to make...i totally agree
I have always through out the 80's and 90's loved No Doubt. I keep the candle burning still for Gwen Stefani...her music now the "Truth" album...so mature yet so innocent and pure with life and love. Stay real and true always each and everyone that was in the band. That is the very reason you all were and still are a success with music, friendship, and still have admirers out here. Not many bands still have It! You definitely have It! It= Still the talk, interesting, humble, kept on the right path and that's tough being rock stars! Bands I bet, as well as fans have great envy. Beautiful people very special human beings indeed! I better stop but just my point people only have good things to say, good memories, and none of us can stop talking about Gwen Stefani! My husband was never a fan but he is now since I listen to them constantly.( Or could it be Gwen is easy on the eyes!) Their music never gets old. Kinda like Gwen Stefani. Amazing! See the envy!? lol!
No Doubt just got better with time and their song writing improved as well. Then there 's their live performance which just jumped to a whole new level and totally unique. Gwen became a super star in several areas and she just seems to get more beautiful with time. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to recapture success when you take a 10 year break.
Great interview, Scott !! Ive always been into heavy rock music, but i also like ska, reggae, punk, and everything but country. lol Been a No Doubt fan since i first heard them in 1988-89. Bought every album at release. Bumped into Gwen and Tony at a festival around 96', where they were playing. We let them cut in line at the food and beverage spot because the lines were crazy long. people gave us hell until they realized who was in line. So down to Earth and humble people! And they both smelled nice in a sea of sweaty people. lol Glad they've stayed together and had such great success! Thanks for sharing this Scott!
i watch this now and just feel sort of sleighted...the way they describe their relationship and the band just feels so marketed/forced/disingenuine when you see that they've disbanded and don't even talk to one another anymore...
She did not like the “Gwen doing her solo records” comment at 33:10 hence the deep breath, it’s interesting to see how deep that relationship still is.
It's impossible that Gwen could get upset or not like Tony's comment about the solo records since he helped her with a lot of her solo songs; same as is impossible for Tony to not like her solo albums since he collaborated with her. Probably your imagination.
His Lauren Hill reference has ZERO relevance, NOTHING to do with No Doubt. It's kind of insulting. Lauren Hill went crazy, lost her shit, went crazy. No Doubt took a collective break to get married and raise families and do other projects. It annoys me that they left that "connection" in the edit of this interview.
Ashwin Tony Kanal (Londres, 27 de agosto de 1970) es un músico y un productor inglés. Es el bajista de la banda de ska y soft rock No Doubt y produjo el disco Together as One del cantante de reggae Elan Atias.
Rudelicious flopped as in didnt get much mainstream attention However its an amazing album from start to finish and way better than rock steady. If it had gotten more mainstream attention and she wasnt going through so much shit around that time It woulda been just as big. I however love that it didnt get mainstream success makes it a more appreciative album.
28:16 does anyone have the link to the interview at that part of this video? I am trying to find it I keep searching 'No Doubt interview 2000' but I am having no luck D: I thought it would be easy to find because of the pink hair haha. Any help will be greatly appreciated! p.s Soctt thanks for this interview it's amazing I watched it the whole way threw without getting the slightest bit bored!
My ONLY issue with this interview is how FAKE a "fan" the interviewer is! YES, he did his homework and he's likable and enthusiastic, but he HAS to be cuz it's his JOB. He calls it 'Total Hate 95' and 'Return TO Saturn.' FAKE FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha, but he DID get GREAT stuff from the gang, which is the point, right?? #NoDoubtNation
"Total Hate '95" IS the name of the song (the version most people knows, featuring Bradley Nowell). I don't think the interviewer put the apostrophe in the wrong spot bc, well, he was talking 😋 Really, why would an apostrophe after "95" make sense, Scott? 1995 --> '95. The apostrophe denotes that the "19" was dropped. I'd focus more on your apostrophe than the erroneous preposition that the interviewer used.
They be perfect always ,dosn´t matter about time they are like time machine love them! One of the original band in world! To same like Depeche mode Perfect!
Gwen Stefani is one of the most beautiful women. She’s absolutely stunning.
Finally a good interview without stupid questions
I used to own a day spa in Long Beach called Trabuco. No Doubt members were customers. We installed video monitors and played their videos. Thanks for those wonderful years No Doubt! We love you!
That’s an awesome story!!
gwen is such a sweetheart
you can see is something special between gwen and tony
i agree!
Yup lol
Soulmates.
christian ulloa nope she looks at him with love,he doesn't.
there is just something that i feel when I watch them talking

i realize it is kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Santiago Edwin Flixportal :)
@Lincoln Judson thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it!!
Oh my gosh! I love No Doubt. Fan forever!

you know there are as many positives as there are negatives
the positives are mainly conveniences though

It is pretty cool to think these guys grew up together and have stayed together through it all.
this is one of the best interviews i've seen in my life! and i was born in 86, i've seen a lot!
Breaks me heart to hear Gwen say that about "Total Hate" :(
Out of all the 26 years this band has been around, they still have it and continue to be amazing! Love No Doubt!
Gwen's voice is so cute. I love it!
The entire band is STILL bleaching their hair after all these years?! 🙆
Travis-2313 blondes have more fun, fact.
NO DOUBT about that.
Iconic
Great interview indeed covered alot of ground and flowed very well, phenomenal people and absolutely amazing band!

This interviewer was fantastic, best no doubt interview I have ever seen. Loved it, and I love the band!
Since Gwen is coming out with another solo album I def want a new no doubt album, let’s bring them into the 2020s
That was a good interview. Reminded me why i love them so much after all these years.
Great interview, No Doubt are so cool.
Now that they just got back together again, I think we need a PART TWO, Scott!!!
GREAT interview! You can always tell when they are fans of the band

Gwen didn't age a SECOND!!!!!
I can't believe Gwen Stefani is 44 years old.
She looks great!
Realisticdreamer902 shes 50 now.Blondie lost her looks at 50. Gwen must be keeping away from the drugs.
54 now and still looks good
she´s 54!
Love love love NODOUBT
I’m pretty sure Tony was Gwen’s first love…if I remember correctly…😊
JFC Gwen is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous
No Doubt just got better with time and their song writing improved as well. Then there 's their live performance which just jumped to a whole new level and totally unique. Depeche Mode and the Cure, yep. No Doubt has good taste. I'm not surprised. We're the same ages.
I loved watching this!!
LOVE Gwen
gwen never ages dammit
I love no doubt
i watch this now and just feel sort of sleighted...the way they describe their relationship and the band just feels so marketed/forced/disingenuine when you see that they've disbanded and don't even talk to one another anymore...
They are on hiatus not disbanded.
@@beepbopboop7727 Adrian has come out and said they likely will never do anything again. the "hiatus" is corporate language
She did not like the “Gwen doing her solo records” comment at 33:10 hence the deep breath, it’s interesting to see how deep that relationship still is.
Why did that comment upset her?
Good catch. That’s a therapy technique
It's impossible that Gwen could get upset or not like Tony's comment about the solo records since he helped her with a lot of her solo songs; same as is impossible for Tony to not like her solo albums since he collaborated with her. Probably your imagination.

I enjoyed this interview.
I miss this magic 🎼🙏❤️
That was an amazing interview!!! I love it!!!
Gwen i love you
I love Gwen. And I love how she always gets pregnant at inconvenient times and makes it work still 😅
Gwen Stefani Queen 🫅
I remember the first time i heard No Doubt it was 1997. Just A Girl.

Where's the No Doubt bio pic??
Love Push and Shove at 33:41.
When she talks about Total Hate... hahaha!
it was almost perfect until : return TO saturn
omfg gwen looks as hott as ever!!! she needs to come back solo. Too bad this ND album flopped. :(
Rudelicious flopped as in didnt get much mainstream attention However its an amazing album from start to finish and way better than rock steady. I think the controversy with Looking Hot screwed things up for this album. The song was so good.

to make a new record
You can sense a lot of tension amongst the men and Gwen. You can see it in their faces when she talks

year and a half ago

Love Gwen but sad she is so needy poor thing…same with BS now…ugh
