I'm listening to this through my Sennheiser HD560s. To me the HD800s sounds the nicest. It brings out some high-end detail without sounding very colored like the HE1000 v2 which has some extreme peaks and dips in the frequency curve.
Me too 560s. Thought HE1000 sounded way better than the 800s though, lot more clarity withought being agresively bright. For Classic and rock (#3) i did found 800s better than all 6´s and the while those were better in #1 and #2.

For instance at 11:59 when they switch from the HD660S2 to the HE1000 V2 the cymbals sound ear piercing to me, very unpleasant. But maybe it's because of how it's recorded, I haven't heard this headphone in the real world myself. The HD560s I'm using is pretty flat and neutral sounding though.
@@MacXpert74 i have found that when i first got them they were peaky and but it was consistent across the treble. however i was coming from focal clears which are a little duller to begin with and over time ive come to appreciate the detail and clarity these bring more
The frequency response graph is the measurement result in my recording system, I think I’d show it although it’s not exactly the same as what we hear with our ears. But by comparing other Demos on this channel, we can still find some RELATIVE differences. I will also continue to improve my recording methods. Hope you enjoy these Demos.

Technically speaking for me HD600 and HD800S sound better on a warmer system (iFi Pro iCAN Signature as amp, first Tube mode, 10Hz XBass level) and HD650, 660S, 660S2 on a neutral one (Violectric v550 Pro) no matter what DAC I use. I also have HD490 Pro (plus version, just bought) and HD560S. However, I can't say which of them I like the most, each of them has their own charm, character and music representation.
I've had the HD650 for 2 years, and though I recognize it good technicalities, its narrow soundstage and odd tuning turns me off. I never liked it, might sell it. I much prefer the HD599 to it. I'm testing the HD800s so far had for a few days and though I want to like it and keep it, I'm having a hard time with it as despite it's decent soundstage, I didn't expect it to be so anemic thin, not only the bass is totally weak but everything is not just too far away dispersed, everything sounds very minuscule, tiny. It's a disappointment so far but in my experience sometimes head burn in it's real and are a while a huge ear veil drops and I end up loving it. I'm really hoping this is the case as I went to great extents to get it and don't want to go through the tedious return process along with a separate case and cable I got for it
HD 600 and Fiio R9, a pretty heavenly combination, an intimate but wonderful sound full of details and dynamics. I have heard a lot of people complain about the bass of the HD600 because for me they are perfect, the bass is natural, at least in my case, the source is very important to get the most out of these headphones.
the bass is not good enough for edm or hip hop, or other bass heavy genre. 600s2 is adequate but also not that great in term of bass, but it's better than the 600 that lack of bass

All the tracks are based on my recording environment rather than real human ears, so I can't 100% guarantee that the one that is close to the original tracks will also be close to the original tracks when listening with our ears. I'm a little worried that it might mislead the audience, so I did not add original tracks😅

600 sounds neat like in a studio room, 660 sounds closer like on a live chamber stage among performers, HiFi sounds like on a chamber stage auditorium, 650 sounds presented like in concert stadium, 800 sounds like in an concert hall
Listen to the vocals from HD660S2, they sound like real people lol! Even in my tests, its amazing to listen to HD660S2's vocals because they are like real people in front of you.
Basically if you want a more intimate vocal performance then get the 650 or 600. If you want a wider soundstage where the vocal is less intimate then get the 660s2. I personally don’t like my artists singing to me as if they were right beside me. I’d choose the 660s2. But of course, the 800’s are best overall.
The 800s definitely have the most sparkle but from what I can hear I prefer the 660s2. I also prefer the cut in the 3-4k range compared to the 600 and 650.
HD800S is the best one. Nicest clarity and range. The HD600 follows because it also have the nice clarity and all around sound. The HD660S2 after that. It has the most sub-bass which is nice. But don't know if I can say it beats the HD600 because of it. Because if you EQ the sub-bass a little on the HD600 I am sure you can at least reach the default state of 660S2. Given the prices of all of them The HD600 is the winner. The HD800S is heading towards "end game". The actual reality though is they all sound like Sennheiser and differ very little. Closing my eyes and I couldn't really even tell when it switched to the other headphones. Ironically I am listening with Senn 560s. I own so many Sennheiser headphones. This time I went for Sony MDR-MV1 to try and have a different sound signature. Can't just buy more of the "same' all the time. MV1 has a lot more bass than any of these despite also being open back. They are made for studio mixing of spatial audio. So they supposed to be great for Atmos, 360 and virtual surround pin pointing and so on. I guess I will find out when I test them out. The MDR-MV1 is in the higher end so basically more than HD600 in pricing. Doesn't mean they are better. Just that they are not some kind of cheap afterthought headphones. Here's hoping they knocked it out of the park for movie and gaming. I am not an "audiophile MUSIC" listener. I don't care about that. I care only about 7.1, Atmos, 360 and spatial audio for movies and gaming and even in music.
very interesting. There is a lot of information, such as triangle strikes, revealed in the 6k and 8k peaks of the 800s that are almost non existent in the other three earphones. something is not right with the S2s replay of vocals... too recessed for my taste... but its bass is great.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the 600 headphones never becomes annoying, even at high volumes, because it has a veiled sound. It's as if everything is EQ'd below zero. In contrast, the 660S (and 660S2) can become fatiguing after long listening sessions because they bring too many frequencies forward.
First song: 660S2 has such better sub bass compared to 650. The 800 sounds somehow a bit sharp. Fourth song: Feels like the 600 and the 800 are made for music like this. 660S2 does not sounds so clean and neutral. 650 sounds a bit like you hear it in a tunnel. He1000 V2 are on another level here.
I get a somewhat dry sound on the 600 and 650, which I have heard from many people as well, for me the 660s2 sound the best, I think the best headphone by sennheiser. I honestly like my music to sound a little thick, not flat, which I why I don't like the 600's and 650's
Seems like the mics you're using are a restraining factor. From these recordings there's no difference between the headphones. They all sound absolutely the same on my studio monitors.

good lord, what are you listening to this video through? There are very large differences, and I'm not even using good equipment... just a Macbook Air and Tripowin Olina SE IEMs. When I listen with my Jubilee HD580 the differences are just as apparent.
Which model of Sennheiser HD series headset should I choose to comfortably hear my opponents and listen to music while playing FPS games? My budget is $500. I've used the HD 700 before and it was great in games. HD 800 series is very expensive, please do not recommend.
560s, is probably the best for games. clearer top end, lower subbass, comfort and better soundstage than the 600. 490 pro is more or less a fancier 560s that's meant to replace the 600 in some ways.
I have Sennheiser HD650 and Sennheiser HD800. To be honest with you most of these headphones from youtube videos when comparing Sennheiser lines sound pretty the same to my ears. You have to put these headphones into the real audio chain with great to expensive gears to really hear the real differences between them with your own ears, do not judge these headphones seriously from youtube audio videos like this, audio videos make HD800s inferiors to other HD6xx lines, no. Even at my home I can hear Sennheiser HD650 and HD800 have similar sound signature but there are a few differences like HD650 sounds like in your hear or near your head and HD800 still carries a lot of HD650 sound but with a huge distance, more details, clarity, better bass control on higher resolution and speed. Sennheiser engineers really tune their reference headphones alike each other, like 70-80% but with up or down db different. To my preference, HD800/HD800s are clearly superior to other Sennheiser headphone. The HD600-650 win just only about their slow timbre and bigger midrange sound than HD800/800s, these make them sounds like more romantic, smoother than HD800 but not as real as HD800. The rest HD800/800s win.

HD660S2... finally, a neutral sounding headphones. HD600 distort a lot. HD800S very fast but somewhat unnatural. HD650... seems like the capturing setup issues with phase response.
My thoughts: 660s2 has better bass extension and more.. modern sound? But compared to the 600 feels less natural. 800s is a bit bright but mostly sharp cymbal type sounds. 650 is just the 600 but smoothed over and made more mellow. HE1000.. is.. awful on this recording, hopefully it doesn't sound like that. No air except a huge 10k peak. My Sundara is nothing like that thankfully. Listened on HD600.

i own 600, 650 and 660s2, s2 is the worst by far, pure trash, 650 is just bad, 600 is the greatest of all time, (I used to own 660s and returned it, even though it is bad, still it was noticeably better than 660s2).
s2 is just terrible headphones, avoid at all cost, something is seriously wrong and other people have mentioned it multiple times, if you ask me even HD 280 is 100 times better than s2, bass is ok but overall there are issues with the sound@@tibetkl

idk, i dont trust Sennheiser anymore, at least I dont want to buy their new stuff unless everybody says it's great, I am gonna buy Sony MV1, everybody said that's it sounds good and asian guys are going crazy about it, Senn is on the wrong track, I also had HD 560s and did not like it, it sounded cold and distant, I returned it, all great Senns are made long time ago, HD 600, HD 25, HD 280, only recent HD 26 is truly great, but recent HD 300 is bad overall, the only good recent headphones from Senn are legendary Neumann NDH 20 which are the best thing money can buy if you can handle it's pressure on your skull, but again NDH 30 was terrible.............resume nobody should trust Senn anymore@@tibetkl

HE1000 comes across very different irl, I must say. Sounds very thin here, which is not at all the case with them on your head.

S2 sounds muddy, 800s and 600 are my favorits, 650 have the most relaxed sound
HD650. Together with DT990 Pro most used headphones for mixing in professional studios.

I measured the HE1000 with my own ears, the 10k peak is still there and raise more
@@kanou654 Wow, that's impressively bad at that price point. Very strange. Sundara and XS is far better sounding and also cheaper.. or... 600. Love mine, cohesive is the best word to describe them. They aren't the best technically but everything sounds cohesive.

i own 600, 650 and 660s2, s2 is the worst by far, pure trash, 650 is just bad, 600 is the greatest of all time, (I used to own 660s and returned it, even though it is bad, still it was noticeably better than 660s2).
Yes, nothing beats the vocals on the HD600 but the bass on the s2??
s2 is just terrible headphones, avoid at all cost, something is seriously wrong and other people have mentioned it multiple times, if you ask me even HD 280 is 100 times better than s2, bass is ok but overall there are issues with the sound@@tibetkl
@@michaelsi6770 it’s not terrible. I had it for a few months. However the HD600 can be better of course. It doesn’t make the s2 terrible. I returned it though, since the HD490 released and I will try that probably.
idk, i dont trust Sennheiser anymore, at least I dont want to buy their new stuff unless everybody says it's great, I am gonna buy Sony MV1, everybody said that's it sounds good and asian guys are going crazy about it, Senn is on the wrong track, I also had HD 560s and did not like it, it sounded cold and distant, I returned it, all great Senns are made long time ago, HD 600, HD 25, HD 280, only recent HD 26 is truly great, but recent HD 300 is bad overall, the only good recent headphones from Senn are legendary Neumann NDH 20 which are the best thing money can buy if you can handle it's pressure on your skull, but again NDH 30 was terrible.............resume nobody should trust Senn anymore@@tibetkl

garbage music and acoustic quality to test preproduction with. use acoustic music as minimum, or classical orchestra as best. else you waste brain cycles for nothing.
HD600 is awful headphones sold them in one week. HD800 in 2 weeks.
