Don't judge the technique of the dancers unless you are their coach. It's seriously uncool to judge when you don't know the amount of time and effort these dancers put into it every single day. Being a dancer myself; I believe the passion of what you put on stage is what counts at the end of a competition. Knowing you put everything you have on that stage is the most incredible feeling in the world. I could care less about their outfits.
also no one should feel sorry for us. we had an option to do this dance and its something we both felt strongly about and we were mature enough to handle it. our parents for one do not have any say in what WE pick to do, and if they did they would agree that we are mature enough to express it. those of you who said postive things. Thank you very much =) and those of you who didn't...........you aren't hurting anyone and i hope by putting us down you're feeling better about yourself! ;)
Usually I'm not a huge fan of watching solo/duo lyrical routines, but wanted to see the creation of this song. Excellent, very enjoyable. The dancers portayed the message very well
I love it, they dance really good and I have always wanted to dance but never had the money to be able to, so when I see people do it and see how passionate they are it amazes me and I get chills shen I watch this video
wow. just... omg. i especially like that you were doing DV outreach, dancing to a song dedicated to DV outreach... the suitcase with the info was a beautiful touch - not for the competition per se, but for the communication, the message of the song and the dance. it was a brave dance. people don't challenge stereotypes much, let ALONE have discussions about DV. thank you.
Kayla, If it means anything i enjoyed your performace and i also think your dance partner is cute dont ever listen to negative influences because you kno in your mind to did your best:D
wonderful dance, both dancers were good. like others i felt the transitions were a little long/awkward but with practice and time you both will get better. keep up the great work
The point of competition isn't to go being amazing dancers. It is for constructive criticism to become a better dancer hence why there are score sheets, all kinds of different levels and to get out and feel what the dance world is like. Any competition dancer knows that. It's a way to get exposed and know how other dancers see you rather then what your studio thinks.
There are some really good moments in here, and the lifts are very creative. The only constructive criticism I have is that some of the movement seems half-hearted. I know it could easier be worked on, as you two are both wonderfully skilled dancers. =)

It's a lyrical dance so they tend to dance bare foot... the tights weren't rolled. they were just the type that stopped at the ankle
