Because as much as I love, love, love, Tems, she is not a gospel singer. That song falls between the grey line of contemporary music and Christian music. Anyway, the awards are all political. I don’t even care about these ceremonies anymore. Also, the strategic speeches some of the winners give are so insincere. I just pray Tems is okay and she continues to succeed in her career. Often, innocent people get dragged into industry political agendas.

@@AnnaleighTV-ks1bb Hi! I agree with you. Nonetheless, I strongly believe she cares. That said, she cannot do anything about it. The only thing she can do is give the award back. However, doing that may make things worse. She is not the only person in the music industry that received an award they should not have. What people need to do is fight the corrupt systems and the people manipulating it. Tems is just a Victim who had no idea what she was getting into, and is now left to deal with the consequences.

Now that a lot of people are on social media, they are able to access legitimate information that reduces the chances of being manipulated by the media. Thus allowing people to think more critically, which causes them to notice the ongoing corruptions they were not able to notice in the past.
I think she won the category because even though it’s clearly not gospel, it is inspirational. The title is “best gospel/inspirational song“. Yes probably been a long time since somebody who was just “inspirational“ has won it.
