@@atticushexcel9567 I just got one Monday from Microcenter. It's amazing. I upgraded from a 7800x3d definitely lived up to the hype. @@johnpaulbacon8320 7950x3d is not faster than the 7800x3d because of higher latency between the dual ccds (one ccd has the x3d extra cache and one does not), even when you turn one ccd off its still marginally slower. If a 9950x3d doesn't have the latency mitigated then it will remain slower than the single ccd variant 9800x3d. It would be very cool if the 9950x3d had lower latency because then it will be an all round monster in gaming and productivity which would be intels worst nightmare.
When comparing CPUs, it's really not as important to compare performance on lower-end GPUs. To be honest, this guy isn't really doing a great comparison. The biggest use-case for a best in class CPU would be high fps/low latency esports. Otherwise, you'll be GPU bound in most games at sufficiently high resolutions. If you used a 4070 or 3070 at 1440p ultra in these games, you would likely see consistent average fps values among all of these CPUs because of the GPU bottleneck.
@@bingbongwingwongDoesn't matter if somebody can get 1 million fps at 480p resolution if the viewer doesn't game at that resolution. The direction all the youtube hardware benchmark channels are heading, they will end up going back to using RCA cables soon.
@@joshmonus The purpose of lower resolution testing is to let you know which CPU is actually faster than the other. If you test at 4k and find that a CPU like the Ryzen 7950X and the Ryzen 9800X3D are equal for a small set of games, you will be disappointed if you got the 7950X, which is around the same price but is much slower for games that need it most.
4k is gpu push resolution, so all the fps will be thanks of the gpu, not the cpu. What I mean is every cpu would perform the same or close but the difference will be the 1%lows (stuttering and drops of fps)

How it's been your experience with the 9800x3d? Mine just arrived. I have to mount the new PC today.
Absolute legend. Was hoping for a comparison with the 10900k, but most people don't do it since it's an older gen chip.

9800X3D : The KING
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D has yet to be released. But until then Go 9800X3D.
