    Check out our detailed review here: www.treadmillreviewguru.com/s...
    The Sole F63 is a quality treadmill for under $1000. It inclines to 15% grade, has a 12mph max speed, will support up to 325 pounds, and folds up when not in use. It is also covered by a lifetime warranty on frame and motor.
    Sole builds simple, quality machines that aren’t weighed down by excess tech. You do not need WiFi to run the F63 programs, just plug in and go. There are 10 onboard programs and an included chest strap for the two heart rate training programs.
    The F63 folds up when not in use and will lock into place. Four wheels under the deck make it easy to move and slide along the floor. A hydraulic release lever will slowly drop the deck back to the floor -- you don’t even have to hold it.
    The F63 has a 3.0 HP motor, so it is best for walking or light running -- but probably not ideal for heavy running or extensive training. The 20” wide by 60” long deck gives you plenty of forward and back space.
    We recommend the Sole F63 as a good quality, sturdy machine well priced at under $1000.

    Thank you. I watched several other of your reviews but I decided to buy the F63 because of your video. This is my first day so it has not yet stood the test of time, however it seems to be very durable and well built. My favorite part is that the console is simple and not fancy so I believe our money is going towards quality rather than electronics. iFit does not interest me at all and I'm glad I was not forced into paying for the hardware for it. I paid $1000 at Dick's sporting goods. Grab it while you can. They seem to be going fast. The store closest to me was out of stock so I had to drive a bit to get one and they only had 3 left.

    I just purchased a F63 that is very slightly used. I was going to get the F80, but when I found this one I got it. I was a little concerned about the simple screen, but I downloaded the Zwift app to my iPad. It syncs beautifully with the build in Bluetooth that the treadmill provides. You would be fine with either the F63 or F80. The F80 is a little bigger with a stronger frame and a bit more cushion in the deck, so if your budget allows, we recommend the F80. But the F63 is a hearty machine as well, it's just a little smaller. Sole offers a full lifetime warranty on the frame regardless of where you live.

    This is the best video I've found on the F63, thank you!! I plan on using this for walking and incline intervals (so 15% incline for a minute or two, drop it down to 2% or so for another minute, back up to incline, etc). Do you think this is a good treadmill for that many changes in each workout? It looked a little slow to change inclines in the video but not sure if it's worth the upgrade to the F80 for the more powerful motor. • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад +1

      Yes, there is more foot noise when you are walking on the belt than when it just runs in the background. When you step on it, the belt rests against the deck and this makes a "whooshing" sound that is incidental to all treadmills. It's not just the F63.

    Thanks for the review! I'm looking at getting this treadmill to use on the days that are way too hot or way too cold for me to run outside. Obviously, there's a big difference between 5mph and 7mph-- how many intermediate speeds are there between those speeds? • @TreadmillReviewGuru

      The manual +/- buttons allow you to set the speed at 0.1mph increments -- from 7.0 to 7.1, 7.2, etc. The preset buttons along the side of the console take you up a full metric. From 7.0 to 8.0 etc.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 года назад +1

      Good question! Finding a treadmill that won't disturb downstairs neighbors is a constant challenge. Pretty much any treadmill makes a thudding sound just due to the impact of your foot on the belt. Running is louder than walking and larger users tend to generate more noise. Some of our recommendations for particularly quiet treadmills are: Horizon 7.8AT. It's not compact, but it is durable and quiet. The Sole F80 is another good mid-size option. Smaller units include the Nordictrack EXP 10i and ProForm 2000. All four of these treadmills fold up to clear floor space when not in use. If you want something super compact, look at the ProForm City L6. It's extremely small and folds flat, but it has a smaller motor and deck as well. It's food for walking but maybe not as much running.

      You should be fine with either one. The F80 is a bit more expensive so it has a larger motor and more cushioning in the deck. Depending on your weight, the added cushioning may make running more comfortable. The F63 is a great budget option and should work fine for your intended usage. If you have the means, we'd recommend the F80 simply it's more powerful and more comfortable.

It only $200 more and has a 3.5 HP motor, which is just a step up from the 3.25 HP motor on the F65. However, if you are only running twice per week, you should be fine. Hi, thanks for a great review. Im looking into this for incline walking. Has anyone tested to put some sort of support under its front to make it a few percent steeper than the max 15%?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад

      We wouldn't recommend lifting the front of the deck. This could compromise the integrity of the deck as you run on it and possibly cause damage to the underside of the treadmill. Most folding treadmills only incline to 15%. However, incline trainers that do not fold up will incline higher. The Nordictrack x11i inclines to 40% -- I know it's a big jump in price, but if incline is of value to you, then you could consider an incline trainer.

Some users don't find it has enough cushioning for longer distances. In general we recommend users who plan to run faster than 6mph for longer than an hour look for something over 3.0hp. The F80 has 3.5hp and more cushioning but the price jumps a bit. You will probably be fine with the F63 but the F80 is worth a look if it's within your budget.

    I'm tired of running in the rain, snow and negative 20, 30, 40 and 50 temperatures. I like to run around three miles a day around 6.0. Can I do this on this treadmill?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад +1

      Yes, although if you have the budget we may recommend upgrading to the Sole F80 (or F85) for a larger motor and slightly more cushioning in the deck. Sole machines are well built, but they aren't the most cushioned treadmills. An upgrade may provide more comfort while running. The F63 is fantastic for walking.

    Hi, I usually run 20 to 25 mpw outdoors and I’ll probably be increasing my mileage in the coming months. I usually run at a 9:30 to 10 minute mile pace for easy runs. I need a treadmill not for my every day run since I prefer to run outside, but a treadmill I can use every now and then when the weather is bad outside and so I can run indoors. Do you think this treadmill will be okay for me since I won’t be using it as my every day trainer?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад

      Yes, the F63 will be great. It's a good treadmill, just not as cushioned as some others and it has a slightly smaller motor. But it will last forever and has a durable deck and simple console. For your estimated usage, this is perfect.

  • @Sweetswede15

    Why would you not recommend this for running? Would the f65 be okay for running?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 года назад

      The F63 is a good machine but it lacks the motor power and deck cushioning for extended running. If you plan to walk or jog lightly, it's great. If you plan to run regularly for several miles per day, we recommend the F80 which gives you the added power and cushioning for longer distances.

    For $999 USD I was expecting ~$1499 in Canada, but it's sitting at $1999. What the hell? I would love this treadmill but that's an insane price difference. For $1999, there is an unnecessary level of redundancy.
    Make the side rail buttons more responsive (maybe a CPU bottleneck) with an option to increase speed/incline numbers quickly by holding the buttons down, move the speakers to the sides of the display, shrink the display bezel and ditch the fan, if not allow it to rotate down further. This would shrink the entire top and bottom console by a good third, simplify the electronics and save build costs while maintaining quality and usability. 🤷‍♂️
    It would be interesting to have some insight into the design/manufacturing process. There's got to be a reason fitness equipment manufacturers can't seem to make a clean and modern looking console.
    The rest of the treadmill looks high quality, and as you say, the warranty on offer no doubt attests to that. If you're going to sacrifice in any one area, I guess the console is the only place you'd want to do it. Shame though.

    How much assembly is required?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад

      You will need to attach the uprights, console and tablet holder. The deck comes fully assembled. It is easiest with two people -- not because it's heavy, but because you need one person to hold the uprights and console in position while the other tightens all screws, etc. Assembly takes around an hour. It's not too bad. Instructions are well explained in the user manual.

      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад

      At 320 you will be right at that weight capacity of 325 lbs, we think this would work for you for sure. In our experience, Sole treadmills are sturdy and reliable. If you are worried about the weight capacity you could take a step up to the F65 that has a 350 lb weight capacity, it has a little bit higher of a price tag but might be worth checking out if you're interested. If you're not too worried about being right at that weight capacity then for sure go with the F63.

    So what’s considered light and heavy running?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 года назад

      We consider heavy running to be more than 5miles per day at greater than 6mph -- or having multiple users. The F63 has a 3.0 horsepower motor, which is perfect for walking, jogging or several users who walk. But if you run longer distances or have several runners who plan to use it, we probably recommend looking at the Sole F80. It has a bit more power.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 года назад

      This model is one of the quietest we've tested. It should work in an apartment with a rubber mat placed underneath. This will help absorb some of the noise, especially if you're on the second floor. We recommend checking your lease agreement and with your landlord if you haven't, to be sure a treadmill is allowed. Some leases don't allow them.

      @@TreadmillReviewGuru Thank you for your reply. If I used this 2 to 3 times a week at 18 to miles running between speed of 5 and 7 would the f80 still be best option. • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад

      @@davidgorman8578 If you're only using it 2 to 3 times per week you should be fine. We recommend that runners who train 4x per week for longer than 6miles and faster than 6mph upgrade to the F80. If you plan to use it less than that or for fewer sessions, it should be fine. Sole equips their treadmills with strong, durable motors and they are one of the few companies that still offer a full lifetime warranty on the frame and motor. You just don't want to tax the motor or push it too hard too frequently, but if you are the only user and your sessions are just a few times per week, the F63 should be plenty powerful.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 года назад +2

      You should be just fine. The F63 will support your amount of running. The motor is strong and capable. If you planned to run 6+mph for more than 5 miles per day, I would probably recommend upgrading to the F80. But I think based on your projected usage, this is the best machine for you.

    Your model was from 4 years ago, I see. I just went over to Dick's Sporting Goods (May, 2024) to look at their Sole F63 and noticed that it is missing the two rocker switches for incline and speed control on the arms and it uses the kick stick to lower the platform instead of the yellow lever handle. I wonder why they removed those features off of their new models? I also like the display on your model better. The quarter mile track fills the whole screen whereas on the new models it only fills a quarter of the screen. I might as well buy the F80 instead.

      @@TreadmillReviewGuru Great suggestion, thanks. I did check it out. I checked out the F63 and F80 at the local Dick's Sporting Goods store and the F63 tried to kill me. What I DON'T like - as an 80 year old guy - is the lack of speed and incline adjustment on the side handles. Reaching forward to the console tends to disrupt my balance and I wind up stepping one foot on the track and one foot on the side rail. It tried to kill me. The OTHER problem are those textured sleeves on the side handles. Feels good for keeping your balance, right? Except they slide right off as the track is pulling you backwards. If there were rocker switch controls on the side handles then that would keep those textured sleeves from sliding off. Other than that, you can't beat the value for the current $ 1,000 price. I like the nice bright display screen, too. But, I might have to go with the F80 even though it has a dim display screen. It has those big paddles to adjust speed and incline instead of me having to reach way up to the console to do that.

    Si why can’t this be used for running?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 года назад

      It can. But it is right on the cusp of what we recommend for distance and/or speed running. The 3.0hp motor is plenty powerful for most types of use. Running is high impact and generates a lot of torque on the deck. If you plan to train for longer distances, the Sole F80 or F85 are more powerful and will provide more cushioning for those longer runs.
