Natural gum Mastic is produced only in Chios island Greece for many thousands of years!
Believe me this is the right way to collect the natural gum mastic of Chios!
Mastic should dry out and become smaller or larger pieces so it will be used as natural chewing gum, or for other uses.
The way you describe is the appropriate way for other resins that are derived from barks of trees (like pine trees etc)

should be put some special goblet ... under cracks ... for collect the liquid ... after we could dry with any form and sizes ... with so much dry technicals ways... but doesn't down on the Earth this is will be dirty with micro...
