    Great video, I have been doing this for years. I have a 98 12V Ram making 550-600 HP. I process 8 gals of used oil into every full tank of fuel (35 gal tank so just over 20% black diesel. I pump mine through a 5 mic whole house filter and then through a water separator and into my holding containers. I pour into my tank at the station and then top off the rest at the pump. Change my truck fuel filter every 5K US miles and so far I have done this for the last 60K US miles and no issues. The only downside is the truck does idle haze but nothing visible while driving down the road. So doing the math as you have, that's about 3500 gals of fuel at my 17 MPG average. Total savings of 700 gals of fuel. Oh yeah I change my black diesel filters every time I change my truck filter!

    I've been running used ATF in my 7.3 IDI, only issue I've had is if I use it all the time and leave the alt. fuel in the injection system all the time, it ruins the fuel return O rings and then they leak.
    I only use it if I'm traveling more than 10-20 miles, and I switch back to diesel at the end of the day.
    Also I Changed my glow plugs because they went bad and found them to be very Coked up which was unusual compared to the previous times I replaced my Glow Plugs, I suspected that this was because I would run WMO all the time in the winter and on cold starts, another reason I don't use it unless the Engine is nice and warm and I switch back to Diesel at the end of the day.
    The Ford 7.3 IDI"s are nice because they have 2 tanks, I removed my rear 20 gallon tank and installed a 38 Gallon tank, I keep pure diesel in the front all the time because I have had times going through the mountains it got cold and the fuel was to thick for the fuel pump to pull, so I just switched to the front tank and was able to press on. One time this happened I just stopped at a gas station and added some more diesel fuel and the truck ran fine for the rest of the day.
    Otherwise no major issues, I've been doing this for years and did worry about fuel injection system wear and tear, but with Diesel at $6 a gallon, its definitely worth it for me.
    What's your experience with IDI's and running WMO out of curiosity?

    Great info Rob. I don't mean to sound negative. But I believe we are headed to a SHTF scenario. Maybe you could maybe show how you set up your equipment for the process. We all pretty much know it is a cost saver and the risks. But given they may cut off the supply. We need to get real knowledge real fast from an experienced pro like you. The risk of the repairs I agree is important. But the nuts n bolts are what we/I want. Like maybe a way to filter without a centrifuge like pressurizing a 55 gal barrel add old gas or diesel to thin it and them force filtering with a pump to get contaminants out in order to do it more cost effectively etc...Instead of a 1800 centrifuge ? Don't mean to come across like Castrudeau or Bidenut.

Will it clog? I surely hope not. I also hope settling the WMO for months on end, filtering at 8 microns before entering fuel tank and 8% wmo/92% diesel solution passing through 2 micron Caterpillar filter before entering VE injection pump is adequate.

      If you add some gasoline to it let say

    • @vwaudiwelder
      @vwaudiwelder 2 года назад +2

      @@CUTTERUPROB Thanks. I only need 3% RUG to thin the WMO, not 10 or 20%? I have read folks that allow the WMO/RUG solution to settle for a week and draw from the top layers instead of running through a centrifuge and have had success. I would still pass that solution through 8 and 2 micron filters as I really don't want to clog the injection pump or the catalytic converter if this thinning and waiting process procedure is possible?

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  2 года назад +2

      The viscosity of the fuel is the big one I find. And the gas help the oil burn hotter so you get less deposits. I do mix and let it settle for a week or centrifuge it. You will get a bunch of junk out of it

    • @vwaudiwelder
      @vwaudiwelder 2 года назад

      @@CUTTERUPROB 3% RUG is all that is needed to thin, lower the viscosity ans allow the WMO solution to settle out particulates over a week or two? 10-20% is far too much? I figured it would help prevent the 2 micron filter just upstream the injection pump from clogging so quickly.

    I feel like your making your diesel wrong. Check out this guys youtube page’s hes been running his used motor oil with 10-30% stale gas from the scrap yard, that he buys the gas for a buck a gallon. And obviously oil is free. He opened up his ram engine and nothing was wrong with it after 4 years of use in the summer and winter. I think they way he filters his homemade diesel is better than how you are doing it for sure. Most likely why you have gotten issues over the years. And it seems like his method is cheaper and easier. Heres his channel ruclips.net/user/shortsRYFaaRsPriY?feature=share you should try a bed sheet as a filter and let the diesel mix sit in 4 different 250 gal totes for 2 week intervals. All the water, debris, sludge, metal shavings, etc gets filtered to the bottom by gravity it it wasn’t already filtered out with the initial bedsheet. In each holding tank it seems like he gets a solid thick layer of 2-4 inches of sludge on the bottom of the totes. I imagine the way you are doing it, your not giving your stuff enough time to mix and separate so you trucks filtering all that through it’s system and you’re getting worried about it od shits breaking for you. For this guy its the opposite. I think you should refine your method and use the centrifuge in conjunction with a double lined bed sheet whilst being mixed with a drill and concrete mixer in each separate tote and let that sit to sift.

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  Год назад

      I been doing this way for 15 years. I was shown it by a guy doing for 20 before that. So it works. You can use just gas. Really comes down to it use what’s cheap for you to get.
