Honestly, I also think the game would be long, but I find that clip and start to think two things, first was the same what You wrote and second was this, like Ranpo literally destroyed Dazai without giving him a chance to think about the game. I mean there are a lot of options, you never know which one is THAT one, right?

The point of chess is to get the opponent’s king to be in checkmate. What is checkmate? Checkmate is when your king can be taken by a piece, but can’t make a move to stop it. Rendering the opponent’s king trapped and in checkmate, you win. There is something called check, which is when with one move you can take the opponent’s king. No matter what else is going on on the board, you must stop and help your king get out of check. Like stated previously, if your king cannot get out of check, it is checkmate. • The king piece can only move one square in any direction per move. • The Queen can move almost any way however many squares she wants until she hits another playing piece. She cannot jump over any pieces, meaning she cannot move like a knight. • The Bishops can move however many squares they want diagonally.(until they take hit another playing piece ofc) They must stay on the color of their starting square. (Black or white) • The Knights move in a L shape any way they want. They can move forwards, backwards and sideways. The L is 3 squares “forward” if you’re pushing towards the opponents side and one square to the side. Adjust accordingly to whatever direction you move the knight. (Look this one up for a better explanation, it’s a lil hard to explain sorry 😅) • The rooks. The rooks can move forward and sideways however many squares they want so long as nothing is in its way. • Pawns move forward one square at a time. The only time a pawn moves more than one square during a move is when you first start off a game, in which you can choose to move it 2 squares off the starting row. Pawns attack diagonally only, and cannot attack anything to the side, in front and behind them. Pawns also can turn into any playing piece of your choice if they make it to the opposite side of the board without being taken. (Means if you want another queen, who bc she has the most freedom to move how you want often considered the strongest piece, so long as you make it to exact opposite/ last row of the board, you can turn your pawn into a queen.) I feel like this is quite inaccurate as the game would last much longer and both of them would either have a tie or random wins very close last minute as dazais IQ Is 205 and Ranpos is 215 which is very close.So they would most likely be playing a long time.
The moment I heard the audio 💀 The thing is, Dazai might beat Ranpo at chess. Yes, Ranpo has a higher IQ, but his intelligence is more focused on logic and deduction, while Dazai is more focused on manipulation and strategy. And guess what: chess is a strategy game. Not to mention, Dazai has most likely played chess way more times than Ranpo has, and is more familiar with it. Ranpo's IQ is also only around 10 or so higher than Dazai's, which definitely makes a difference, but it's not a ridiculous gap either, so there will be times where Dazai does better.
I personally think that ranpo is rally Smart and good with figuring things out but dazai would win cause his better with strategy and predicting things
I mean it would be a tie in my opinion because although ranpos smarter than dazai, dazais also quite munipulative sooooo idk but also ranpo would beat against his munipulation but then also dazai would find another way soooo idk again😅😂
