Stars: John Wayne, Noah Beery, Verna Hillie Director: Robert N. Bradbury Rod Drew hunts for a missing girl and finds himself in a fight over a goldmine as well.
A very good movie of John Wayne first time I see Noah Beery Sr and his son acting together in the same movie I did enjoyed it Thank you for sharing ❤❤👍👍
And towards the end I liked how Wayne (Rod Drew?) first failed at his attempt to seize the bastard he was giving chase to, but then got right back to it in classic style. It injected a bit of realism.
An entertaining oater. Wayne is beginning to develop his distinctive style of reading his lines. He still has a ways to go but the potential to become a star of the screen is readily apparent.
Yes worth watching. I wondered there near the end of the film whether the audiences yelled BS at most of the chase scenes. Anyone that has actually spent time around horses knows there isn't a horse on the planet that can gallop that fast that long! Not even close! The fight scenes sure people would understand that was BS and give it a pass. How did the Wayne character go from a white hat to a black one in the final scene unless they were denoting that he was Stealing the guy's gal! Also Where was this filmed?
@For Truth LOL!!! These are GREEN broke horses off the plains FCS! Not some mile and a half thoroughbred!!! out of some pussy permanent pasture!!!! LOL!!!

With Bob Steele's old man directing a lot of these early JW movies, I'm surprised Bob didn't turn up in a few.
Always wear your spurs on a canoe trip.

Notice at 48:16 the rope around the "fallen" mountie.
A lot of tired horses
Jump in the river while ridin' the train. That's gettin' away from it all!
A 27 year old John Wayne, I hope someone colorizes this movie. Never seen John Wayne so young.
Watch The Big Trail (1930) if you want to see a younger John Wayne. That is a truly wonderful movie!
I thought I would watch this because it has Noah Beery in it, who was so good in the Rockford Files, but it was really silly.
like real
Merde, zose pesky voyageurs, zey vas nairver vary bon.
So that's Noah berry of clint Eastwood fame?

Crazy unnecessarily stupid horse stunts don't make a movie better.
