As much as i miss these rides they got rid of them because newer generations wouldnt see the value of them and they needed more room for up coming plans. Its more of a business thing and keeping things new. Especially with Floridas growing popularity which kinda sucks but they benefit and someone’s gotta pay the bills
Backdraft is still around, one of my favorites. I'm guessing the reason it not going to be removed anytime soon is because of it location in the back of the park and not enough room for expansion.
I dont know how proud I'd be about that. Without knowing anything going in, I would have sworn it was a crappy simulation that a 3rd world park created. To see it is actually Universal Studios afterwards in the description, stunned me. Very, very crappy. But then again, this is the dame company that put out Fast and the Furious attraction so yeah. Lol
I know this is supposed to be make-believe and emulate a movie set. I’m just here pondering “if only Hurricane María was this tame for a category 5 hurricane when it hit my city” 😂 GOD how I wish it was this mellow
Beijing Universal Stuidios Lights Camera Actions! brought me here... I think the one at Bejing lack of the weather reporter on TV if not would have been equally better. However, the introduction by Steven Spielberg + Zhang Yi Mou was a blast by the looks of it on videos (well themed).
The audience reminds me of a few Backdraft experiences in USH when most of the audience would stand back while only 2 people would actually go up against the handrail as intended.
Backdraft is still around in Universal Studios Japan. More than half the people in the first row go up the handrail in the first row, by the end, everyone has backed up. I still won't even go to the first row, it scares the *!@# out of me.
Its like the twister ride. They should have made the platform the guests are standing on move with the waves to be more emerging, and had the windows fly off with more force. Really cool looking ride tho none the less.
Please stop saying it was too slow, they had to make safety measures because they didnt want to get any of the guests injured by the fire and stuff. This us just a demo on how they make movies *not actually the real one* . It will be much more real once you tried the attraction in person, its really cool so head down to USS.
You have clearly never ridden Earthquake the Ride. That was faaaaaar more realistic than this weak failure. "Oh look. The i-beam dropped at one end and...now the boat is sliding along it. That is so scary I might just take a nap."
I am from South Florida I was there at hurricane Andrew just looking at this video is not really a hurricane it’s just a bad Florida storm This was the most Ounky Bunkyest version of a Hurricane that I’ve ever seen I was laughing from the start but I definitely like a domino effect of things that was good
This would have been perfect for Universal Studios Florida. It is the "studio set" rides like this that really make sense in a studios park. Unfortunately, Universal is getting away from this kind of concept and focusing on simulator movie rides...
Like a lot of stuff at USS this attraction lost its sparkle and needs updating. A few more recent movie pictures? Removing dust and cobwebs? A lick of paint? How hard can it be? A few live actors? Don't get me wrong, I love these types of attractions.
I remember seeing a King Kong easter egg on the ride. KK was climbing the empire states building when the windows fly open but before a lightning effect struck or something.
This is ok , not that good , but ok , and the first fire in the begining , it started too early , i geuss it was supoosed to start when the hanging boat hit the furnace , but its started like 5 seconds too early...
That's nothing like when your in a Hurricane. I'm from Puerto Rico and when Hurricane Maria hit it was not even close like a category 2 and most in PR lost its power. In the video if it was a category five you will not be standing there watching anything in front of you, not even a boat.
I've lived through hurricanes (I live in Florida) and they really aren't anything like this lol. It's not nearly this dramatic. It's just a bunch of wind and rain and that's about it.
I’m really bumped out because our goal when we went to Singapore universal studios was to watch the movies the movie we watched was the waterfront we missed the lights ,camera, action and the trolls
1:22 Is that Comic Sans on the sign 'Ron's'? Anyways...this set animation looks realistic like the Simulated earthquake from Universal studios hollywood!
I have to say that was really really good but that is not a category five hurricane I live through Andrew and hurricane Gilbert which were Real category five hurricane‘s and even though this was a Sound stage prop re-creation it’s nowhere close to the real thing which is a lot scarier
whoa I didn't know that universal studios sg has this kind of attraction bcs when I visited this park last week I didn't see the sign of this ride! is this attraction located at the Hollywood area?
I think the coolest part is watching all the props go back in place and reset. No one never really shows that part.
I wish universal still did these types of experience based rides. It's always cool to see how epic scenes in movies are played out
As much as i miss these rides they got rid of them because newer generations wouldnt see the value of them and they needed more room for up coming plans. Its more of a business thing and keeping things new. Especially with Floridas growing popularity which kinda sucks but they benefit and someone’s gotta pay the bills

Hollywood kinda has Earthquake in the studio tour.
Backdraft is still around, one of my favorites. I'm guessing the reason it not going to be removed anytime soon is because of it location in the back of the park and not enough room for expansion.
The windows being ripped off and flying away was a cool effect,
lolz
Too slow.
It was cool but really everything was just too slow.
Mike Wolf that’s how they work.
You joking ?
My dad made the boat that crashes into the building.
He made that boat?!
@@mimisargent766 no
Thats rly cool! My uncle is the engineer that made the twister in twister ride it out. I miss that ride a lot.

Aww this reminds me of the Twister and Earthquake/Disaster ride that use to be in Universal Orlando, miss those rides :(
I wish universal at Florida would start making this sort of ride again. A park entirely based on simulation-type rides gets boring real quick.
You want a hurricane just sit in FL for a sec you'll get em all you can eat
Watching it all go back together is so cool.
I miss Backdraft and Twister! This one is pretty cool too.
Happiest Place dude twister scared the fuck out of me when i went there with my parents as a kid
I have such fond memories of the Backdraft attraction. Man I miss it.
Japan still has Backdraft.
Backdraft has a lot of fire effects.
@@cube9862 was a show at Hollywood, twister was in Orlando
I know this is supposed to be make-believe and emulate a movie set. I’m just here pondering “if only Hurricane María was this tame for a category 5 hurricane when it hit my city” 😂 GOD how I wish it was this mellow
Eh I kinda miss when Universal did this stuff in their parks in US, now it’s all screen based rides :(
AMagicProduction yeah ;_;
And stupid Harry Potter.
They don’t cause it burned down half the studio in Hollywood
Thats not the main reason, Jordan. Not even close. The main reason is cost.
That’s why Waterworld is so important to USH
As a native Floridian, I can honestly say that the people who made this have a really weird idea about what goes on during a hurricane.
I believe they were going for a worst case scenario.
Stephen Spielberg made this btw
@@GorgeousFaustina
Ok, so an Ohio-born person who moved to and lived in California for most of his life.
Got is. That explains a lot.
you can tell the 2 people who've seen this 20+ times hanging over the railings lol, I'd be so far back in my seat during this
Don’t need a special effects show to see this where I live.
Same here. XD Boy would it be cool if we had that reset button, huh??
Beijing Universal Stuidios Lights Camera Actions! brought me here... I think the one at Bejing lack of the weather reporter on TV if not would have been equally better.

I hope the Universal Studios in Orlando makes some “rides” like this in their new park, Fantastic Worlds
The audience reminds me of a few Backdraft experiences in USH when most of the audience would stand back while only 2 people would actually go up against the handrail as intended.

Meh, everything felt like it was in slow motion. Poorly done.
fyrTV because it needs to be reset easily
Playing this at 2x speed made it perfect.
I tried that, fixes the video, but screws up the sound. Sync issue?
Can you do better? I would love to see if you can instead of complaining.
fyrTV I think the attraction is supposed to be set on a soundstage while a movie is being filmed so everything that happens is not meant to be "real".
Its like the twister ride.
They should have made the platform the guests are standing on move with the waves to be more emerging, and had the windows fly off with more force.
Really cool looking ride tho none the less.
Best part of singapore visit
Just saw this today IRL, it's absolutely fantastic!
They need this special effects attraction at the Universal Studios parks in US.
When i was a kid idk why i cry on this, its cool!
I remember being here when i was 6-7 and the staff gave me a free poncho right before the boat fell off lol
Please stop saying it was too slow, they had to make safety measures because they didnt want to get any of the guests injured by the fire and stuff. there’s a whole SHIP there!

Especially since Florida gets Hurricanes all the time
I just saw this, it didn’t change after 5 years!
Love practical effects like this
twister looks so much better
As you can see ladies and gentlemen, thats how the Titanic sank😂😂
HotRod Jack survived. Watch the Titanic 2 trailer, only JACK. So he sank with it.
LMAO
What the heck is wrong with you!?
Like a lot of stuff at USS this attraction lost its sparkle and needs updating. A few more recent movie pictures? Removing dust and cobwebs? A lick of paint? How hard can it be? A few live actors? Don't get me wrong, I love these types of attractions.
Still think the old Twister display was better.i miss the original stuff it had more charm.this was clinical and cold.
I remember seeing a King Kong easter egg on the ride. KK was climbing the empire states building when the windows fly open but before a lightning effect struck or something.
I remember when I was a little kid, I used to cry everytime I went there cause I thought the flame would reach me
gosh i miss this one. it was hot and so cool!! the window one was so cool
This is ok , not that good , but ok , and the first fire in the begining , it started too early , i geuss it was supoosed to start when the hanging boat hit the furnace , but its started like 5 seconds too early...
If I had to guess the stage manager was a little trigger happy and hit the cue just a bit early, missing their mark.
Thank you for visiting USS and recording it! I've been waiting for this moment!
OH THIS WAS THE RIDE THAT I LOVED

Universal Studios Singapore 😍💕
これめっちゃ熱くて一番後ろだったけど船出てきた時後ろさがった笑笑
i love that show.
"standby for the hurricane *good luck* "
I remember the first time I went here to experience this, I low-key actually got scared. I was a *kid* back then lmao...
I watched it today in universal studio

here bc i have a major exam this year and covid is gg on so cant go to amusement parks lol, might as well relive the feeling with this vid ಥ⌣ಥ
that was so awesome

So cool

That was cool
Damn, I live in Florida. If this is how a hurricane is supposed to be I feel cheated...
Exactly me too....this was pretty lame
I wish hurricanes were actually like this, then all people would have to worry about is wanting the last 4 minutes back of their life. 😂
PROANISH two islands in my country (the Bahamas) literally got destroyed in hurricane Dorian, a cat 5. Pls don’t say stuff like that 😅
This is like Twister, in a warehouse for boats.
Didn't see that coming...
Couldn't they have done a twister 2.0?
Nice.
Everyone’s slick until the Lucky Fortune cruises on in......
That's pretty cool
I have to say that was really really good but that is not a category five hurricane
I live through Andrew and hurricane Gilbert which were Real category five hurricane‘s and even though this was a Sound stage prop re-creation it’s nowhere close to the real thing which is a lot scarier
if only universal studios orlando replaced twister with this instead of jimmy fallon
Tyler Daise yea!! Over a even better twister ride with bigger stronger winds and more effects!
Niya heck yeah
I was waiting for a devastating cat 5 hurricane. Felt like a school project.
Wow, madness! You think first, its real
The doors gently floating away = I died.
This was the most calm hurricane lmao
Now y’all know how is Floridians feel although this is really nothing compared to how it really is
Loll looks like a whole bunch of stuff just turning on to me
But overall it was amazing
I remember when I was 9 going to see something like this at Universal Studios Hollywood
Hollywood & Japan had Backdraft, Orlando had Twister, Singapore has Hurricanes in New York, and Beijing has Typhoons.
eh it's better when you see it on the Weather Channel.
That’s it ?? That’s not a cat 5 hurricane, more like a tropical storm
No where like a cat 5
日本でいうバックドラフト的な?
Alls they had to do is go outside for the real huracan experience.
A cat 4 has winds of 131 to 155mph this is a cat 3
A category 2, maybe.
whoa I didn't know that universal studios sg has this kind of attraction bcs when I visited this park last week I didn't see the sign of this ride! is this attraction located at the Hollywood area?
Hadi Abdul Halim yess
oh so this is what I'm going to go through in a couple days
Just another rainy night in Georgia
When Vekoma-Chan uses Ultimate Kyushu Florida Yes Power! (in my anime, “I Love You, Colonel Vekoma Kyushu!”)
Lmao I’m shook at these effects
Judging by the speed of the falling sign, I'd say they were filming something that takes place on a smaller planet than earth.
Mark Sommerville lightweight materials, really cheap over there
Wow! That was Cool! 😃☺👍
I wanna experience!!!
I've been there before lots of times, but I'm not sure if it's still open because most of the time I go back to US Singapore it is always closed
If I was here this will end my life
How can there's no more
Twister and backdraft
i went here brah
I live in Florida, this isn’t how hurricanes feel lol
I feel like this is reference to twister and disaster
Category 5 Hurricane in New York City:
We are the World. We are the Children -
Move to America:
Babylon USA was Israeli Civil War about OFW
Ieuzjxm
I went to one of these the exact same one
Umm... Maybe you have to be there for it to look awesome?
Yup! looks better in person.
Deberían hacerlo en Florida también
How they keep the fire going in the water?
This would be scary for me :d
