Is it possible to pre install apps to the iPad / iPhone before giving the device to the user? Kind of like preprovisioning?

Very good questions, it is possible (not done it myself) if you give the device with nothing then during setup it can install all before the user can really us it.
By using Automated Device Enrollment (ADE): Register the devices with Apple's Device Enrollment Program (DEP).
This enables you to configure policies, profiles, and APPS before the device setup is completed by the end user.
Not much of help since I lack testing this myself, but at least it is possible

Please continue the iOS series with Intune ADE enrollment with ABM as well. (I wanted to know if I can enable App store with no restriction for app install ?)

Thanks, I'm looking if it is possible to get an ABM or at least an AEM (Education) since I'm sort of doing that with this channel but I think it might be difficult :) that would be the dream!

Hi! great series of videos you have here, keep the good work! Are you Europe based? you know how Intune is dealing with the release of the alternative App stores and how to manage them for Intune enrolled devices?

Thanks a lot. Yes, based in Europe, France :) and you?
Alternative App Stores? For Android you have a bit of choice, I use Google Play, for iOS it is the Apple Store, you can install LOB apps, but not from another store (not what I know about or heard) same for Windows and the Microsoft Store etc...

    Hi,
Thanks for the video. In my case, all our students' iPads are managed by School Manager and Intune, and there is no Company Portal installed on the devices. Can I still push apps from the Intune portal?
    Thank you.

Thanks for comment, Yes you can totally do it without Company Portal, I did it because I don't have an Apple School Manager or Apple Business Manager for my RUclips video environment so I must do it by Company Portal, but not you :)
If you have Apple's Volume Purchase Program (VPP) you can deploy it there also.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Do you know why, when I use Intune to push iOS VPP apps to the iPads, the iPads prompt me to sign in with an Apple ID? I thought apps from the VPP channel wouldn't require an iCloud ID.

tricky, you are 100% right, that is the whole point of VPP apps, that the users don't use any AppID, it is managed by the AppleID of the VPP. Not much help from me other then saying you are right, why it happens hmm, you publish a Store app from the VPP account, then no password needed,

how to create IOS phone simulator to test the scenarios

I used an older iPhone X and remote into with TeamViewer. If I had recorded it today, I would have used a macOS with Sequoia and used the new mirror feature and mirror the iPhone. Not much help for you as I didn't use a iOS simulator, I did for Android, easier, open source :) Apple do money on the hardware not OS so they don't like so much virtual devices :)
