It's kinda sad that in Power Rangers they don't keep some of the autonomous Mecha and remove their personalities. Sometimes that makes them interesting chars on their own.
@@sph9564 Some seasons can be arguably better than their counterparts. For instance, Zeo was made a good Power Rangers seasons despite the fact that Ohranger was considered a bad Sentai season (they were on the verge of cancelling). And before that, Zyuranger was arguably better plot-wise than MMPR S1, but the latter had some points on its favor such as better soundtracks, so it might even be a 50/50 deal at times.
It's all for the sake of having a 6th Ranger. Because it's popular in Mighty Morphin'(y'know? Tommy the green & white ranger), they thought that Lightspeed Rescue must have 1 as well so that the kids will like it. So despite it does not make sense to have 1, they still push for 1, & created Titanium Ranger, who hardly appeared in 2nd half of the season for obvious reasons. The Titanium Ranger suit looks appalling & stupid, except the helmet which I have to admit it's lit.
@@yujieleong8821 I know that. I also know how lousy the results are when they try to combine elements from different Sentai series. I remember that I didn't enjoy Seasons 2 and 3 of MMPR partly because they meshed the elements from Dairanger and Kakuranger rather poorly for the sake of keeping the original Ranger suits (and that was even before I knew about the existence of Sentai, mind you), despite the series having different motifs. Super Megaforce was similar due to splicing Goseiger and Gokaiger together, which resulted in the Legendary Battle being a legendary disappointment, in my opinion.
They used the Turboranger suits as inspiration for the Titanium Ranger although it was previously believed that inspiration for the suit came from Goggle-V
For any Westerners who get this DVD set, be wary of "Episode 17: Matoi's Bridal Candidate". I was caught off-guard by the cultural difference in such a children's program, and the implications of raising a grade-school girl as a wife. In fact, when I realized what I was watching, I immediately turned the episode off and never finished it. I have to be honest- it was a disturbing and even repulsive feeling I got from that episode, something I would never have anticipated from a _Super Sentai Series._
You missed out on the explanation at the end of the episode. The team assumed that the girl was trying to be Matoi's wife because she said she was training to be a bride. However, she mentions at the end that she viewed Matoi as a dad figure, and that she figured that cooking and cleaning for him was good preparation since he was a goof who didn't know who didn't know how to make good curry.
@@decepticonxhunter4850 Well, there was enough _deliberate misrepresentation_ with such a joke that it completely threw me off the track, and I haven't been able to go back and finish the episode since. For the nearly-twenty _Super Sentai Series_ that I've watched over the decades, that one episode alone left a really bad taste in my mouth.
Be thankful in RPM the zords didn't talk cause in the Sentai Go-Onger Engine Birca speaks a variety of words from English, Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, & Italian
I actually think it's kinda cool that in some seasons, there were autonomous mechas that talked. They're nowhere to be seen in PR. I just can't see why they made RPM a dark season when they had the vibrant, talking Engines. They could've made the series lighthearted, and made it good. But...
In concept, it was a good season. With the cute, animal-like mecha with moving eyes and talking animation... it kinda made it look a little shoddy in a post-apocalyptic universe. If you were gonna make a Terminator-esque PR series, I'd have waited until Go-Busters/Beast Morphers. Granted, you could still make the main villains of RPM deadly serious, but keep them somewhat in character to what they originally were in Sentai. Don't make it too dark.
If you think about it, Liner Boy was GoGo V's in-series sixth ranger (Zeek doesn't since he was movie exclusive)
Yeah.... who the hell needs a Titanium Ranger when you have LinerBoy
I'd say more like their extra-hero
There was actually a GoSilver initially planned. But they dropped it due to budget reasons.
Has anyone else noticed that Liner Boy's head looks strikingly familiar to the megaranger helmets?
Come to think of it, yeah. I mean, it is a space shuttle after all.

Was there a 6th Ranger in the Super Sentai counterpart in GoGoFive?
There was in the form of beast hunter zeek but he did not last long
Besides Beast Hunter Zeek, there wasn't a sixth ranger counterpart. The Titanium Ranger was the first ranger made in America.
