Maryann, I cannot express how much I appreciate your detail and how you create. As a beginning artist I am able to see the depth of your paintings for the first time. I’m not sure other artists do that and certainly they don’t explain it. So thank you so much for all that you share and teach.
Patricia! You made my day! Its great to know that what I do makes a difference in your life. I hold great appreciation for your interest in Whole Artist Mastery.... Cheers!
Hey everyone! I look forward to hearing your thoughts about my thoughts regarding the relationship between feeling a connection to your work, comparing your work to other artists, and having to build a consistent body of work. Enjoy!
Wow....that really hit the mark, thank you ❤ I've been struggling with starting a body of work after a long time being stagnant. A light bulb went on in my head. I worked in 2 different styles and thought I should stick to one for a cohesive body of work but not anymore 😊 It's hard to articulate at the moment so ive decided to write an artist statement before I begin. Don't know if that's a good idea or not but I know its what I need to do. Thank you again, Marianne. I'm excited 😃
This is fantastic, Carrie! Your story shows me that my words are making a difference in the lives of artists on their path... an incredible feeling! Write away, and whatever else you need to do to keep going. Cheers to your pracitce!
Marianne, I can’t believe this was your video this time. You could have been in the studio with me, it was that on point. I absolutely am a believer and hearing you say it all aloud was a real gift. Thank you for saying what needed to be said!!
And thank you for sharing how much my thoughts on Connection, Comparison and Consistency resonated with you! Cheers to your practice and many thanks for your interest in my videos.
Consistency has been a struggle for me for many years. Comparison isn’t such problem for me since I know I love a very wide range of art, but I am able to separate more clearly “art that I love” with “art that I want to make”. Connection is something I am definitely still figuring out. My process seems to need writing, words, memory and sometimes music to help me build connection. Without those being part of my process it can become kind of meaningless.
Thanks so much for chiming in here Hazel! Sounds like you know yourself well and have some clarity about your sources of inspiration and process. Cheers to your artistic practice!
Thank you so much for this! I am fairly new when it comes to showing my work in public and have my first solo exhibition coming up soon. Needless to say, I’ve fallen into all kinds of rabbit holes, especially the comparison one and lost all confidence to the point when I’m close to cancelling. But your wise words gave me some stability back so I shall listen to you many more times and hopefully get somewhat back on track. Thank you!
This is wonderful to hear, yay! Stay on your track, have the show, and however it turns out it will help you grow as an artist. Wishing you much strength and good energy, and ENJOY the experience! If you can, let me know how it goes... Cheers!
Sometimes when I get “stuck” I do look at the work of other artists on RUclips and Instagram. More often than not, I find myself going down a rabbit hole and becoming more and more frustrated and confused. Then I have to drag myself out of the hole and reconnect with what makes me inspired and happy.
Marianne thank you for the opportunity to listen to your deep wisdom I am grateful to have gained some key insights and clarity to giving voice to own visual language which always shows up on my canvasses from the start of each journey. i couldnt find the right words to help me make sense of my creative process but now i have some words which came to me this morning as i viewed one of my canvasses and listened in. In brief the chaos of the enormous unconscious energy unleashed from its captivity on to the canvas in the first stages of a relentless, search drives the dominant critic to take charge, take control, jump in way to soon. i mostly end up feeling very dissatisfied. The words oppression suppression life force vibrant dull “scratching the surface” to disrupt sameness occurred after i heard you so THANKYOu, This is a great start to learning how to read my visual reality🌹🙏🏽
Wow Lynne! Loved reading your comments here... so glad this video and my words have helped you deepen your understanding of your visual reality... cheers to your artistic practice!

@@lynnecartwright8644 I really understand, Lynne. I like the way you say "navigating the path between spirit and matter" is a challenge for you to stay "true North." I find myself in that place a lot as well... Glad you found my videos!
