@@nikhildubey85 I have no issues swapping out blades, it takes a couple of seconds, and is way cheaper than disposables not to mention a superior shave and the blade is spotlessly clean (after you rinse shaver) everytime you shave, you can't get that with a disposable.
Hi, african american male here. Let me say thank you for the very informative video and let me also say that this DE razor was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I can now shave my neck, as you would know is a problem area for us black men. When I first used this type of razor I first thought it was cutting the hair on my face, its SUPER SMOOTH. I shaved my neck and let me tell ya, no irritation, no burning, nothing. I went over it ONCE and the hair was gone. Best switch I have made in my life.
Same story as yours. Nearly every I know initially shaved with multi blade razors, quickly realized it was a bad move and moved to trimmers that aren’t capable of giving you a close shave. It wasn’t until our 40s that we learned that our grandfather had solved this riddle a couple generations ago.
bro I wish I knew this shit 8 months of ago, after struggling trying every type of careful technique possible with the cartilage my face and neck was still coming out tragic. Thank god none of the damages were permanent and I am making the switch to safety now myself. That fact the he specifically mentioned the thing about African Americans was the silver lining for me.
It's only when you look into 'why' Gillette started doing multi-blade razors that you realise they might well qualify as the biggest scam of the 20th century. It was because their patent was running out, and they feared competition from abroad as the safety razor design is so simple, pretty much anyone can replicate it abroad for cheaper costs. The multi-blade razors, whilst offering no real benefit, were more complex to make, and by adding small changes, Gillette could renew their patents as often as they needed to. Then you get into the markup on those cartridges. They don't cost much more to make than a regular razor blade, and the markup on them has been estimated at over 4000%. I can get a pack of ten multi cartridges for £10 to £20 in the UK. Meanwhile I can buy 100 safety razor blades for £10. The cartridges are also non-recyclable, whereas the simple razor blades corrode and bio-degrade. When you then realise that with a little bit of practice, a safety razor offers a comparable shave to any multi-blade, it starts to sell itself. £25 for a razor and enough blades to last years.
Yep man. Amazing cost effectiveness in the long run, initial cost may be 40-250€ instead of 10-30€ for a Gillette razor handle. But, the cartridges (Pro fusion glide) cost 17€ per a pack of 4 here... Rip off/expensive. I bought a pack of 100 good old school Safety Razor blades for 10€. You can't even get four top tier cartridges for that, here in Finland. Lol. Can save money and make shaving a pleasant, comfortable ritual! Less annoying/boring!!
I spent 8 Euros for a Qshave and 6 for 100 Gillette Wilkinson sword from India. I can get 4 shaves from the blade as opposed to 7 from the Mach3 @ 2.5 Euros each. It takes the same time to shave because I need a two pass shave with the cartridge if I want a clean face. Of course Gillette doesn't sell these blades in Europe or the USA so that rip off continues and clients watch ads on tv endorsed by millionaire sports figures.
Rekaert I’ve been a multi blade razor fanboy for ages. But I’m going to try to perfect the safety razor technique. Too many guys saying how good safety razors are there must be something in it.
@@Lycosa I got a nice safety razor for 50 bucks, I'm very excited to use it. Good riddance gillette cartridges! Taking advantage of the consumer, just like printer ink which was already mentioned and I'll also add non-removable batteries on phones, tablets, etc.
My biggest problem with the multi-blade cartridges was that because of the close spacing, they easily got clogged full of stubble that wouldn't rinse out. It's literally like shaving with a cheese grater. After finally switching to wetshaving with a DE safety razor, my face has never felt better.
I like to shave around once a week, but doing so leaves enough length to clog up any cartridge unless I rinse after every stroke. I bought an open comb safety razor and shaved 2 weeks of growth right off with minimal rinsing and zero irritation. That's what sold me.
Bro shake your razor in mug full of warm water or swing and hit it at some rod (the shake it will get will make all the hair and grim come out) thats what i do always. I out my razer under running water in my wash basin and also keep hitting my razor head rubber side border at basin with little force, with few hits my razor gets clear
They're just better too, although i was in reverse, started off safety, with the mass exodus Gillette actually started paying a few people just to order their blades off like third party sites. I bought like a dollar shave club starter kit, i tried a Gillete with eagerness, just too rough and not as sharp as my safety. Ironically enough it was just a nameless generic one i found at a bin for like 5$ but it's still going strong and super smooth. I'm wondering about upgrading the blades on amazon since like the difference between luxury premium safety blades and generics are like literally pennies (10$ for 100 5 star astras vs 6$ for a low ranked 2.5 star generic! , at 4 cents difference a blade, who's counting?!? )
To be fair, Gillette made pretty good DE razors back in the day, two of which I'm still using despite the fact one's 53 years old and the other is 42 years old. Gillette just got greedy.
Though my favorite is a Slim Adjustable, the original Bond razor from Goldfinger, I actually have a brass Gillette open comb that I found in an antique store. Just hit the CENTURY mark. Works great!
I'm of Jamaican parentage and you nailed it! Our skin type is definitely more prone to ingrown hairs and I have tried & tested the entire range of razors and blades. The single wins outright - thanks.
I have been using a DE for the last 30 years. One suggestion to anyone moving to DE: You need to find your right DE and blade combination, good for your skin, open comb vs closed, right blades with respect to mild vs aggressive, ... it takes a while. I tried at least 10 blades brands to find the one I like. Once you find it, you are in heaven, no cost, perfect shaving.
Thank you for the good tips. I'm new to safety razors, and I've got a budget DE with a safety bar. I shaved once so far. It took me a long while to get it done; I had a hard time trying to figure out the angle and was afraid of getting myself cut. I have yet to learn the right angle. I noticed that depending on how I hold the razor, it was a bit too aggressive or wouldn't cut at all. I decided to switch to DE since shaving has always been a chore for me; I never had luck with cartridge razors, or electric shavers, for that matter. I must say that the experience is already better using the DE.
@@Yujiro945 Ok.I never used this Product.I was using Gillette Presto,Gillette Mach 3,Gillette Guard,DORCO Klass 2 fixed and Supermax Long Handle 2.I was never comfortable with so called Lubricant Strip. All these razors gave good Shaves but also gave Razor Bumps,Skin irritation and itching. However now I am evolved and I don't want to use these razors again. Now I have so much stock of Catridge Razors but I am not willing to use it.
I made the switch 4 years ago and never looked back: I said ADIOS to ingrown hairs and skin irritations; and shaving has become a pampering and relaxing moment that I look forward to 👍
Started shaving with a safety razor just a few days ago and man it's so good. It's turned my shaving from a bit of a chore that I want to get though to a relaxed ritual to start the day off.
I just used it for the first time and I am positively gleeful with the result. Other than parts of the neck it's dead easy too. I feel like I've just cheated at shaving
I started 3 weeks ago and as you described it's a lovely shave with just the right amount of lather which I love mixing in my shaving bowl the shaving technique isn't much different to shaving with a catrage razor but the over all experience and the closeness of the shave makes it worth while that's why I prefer shaving at night when I have plenty of time.
I started in April and it's a great shave have graduated to also using the shavette cut throath razor and am getting the hang of that nicely even better than the safety razor next stop is grandad cut throath.
Used a safety razor today for the first time, I was surprised how much better it felt. I will say I discovered the single blade cheapoes work way better than the million blade razors. The triple & quadruple blade razors are just a marketing gimmick. But the safety razor still did better than the best "regular" razor.
I agree, cartridge razors have their uses. I use a cartridge when I'm on the go, partly because they're allowed in hand luggage while DE razors are not. But there is no reason to buy expensive cartridge systems, the cheap ones work just as well (there's dozens of Mach3 clones out there today), and be aware of their limitations.
I just used a safety razor for the first time today. I've been doing research on blades and creams for a couple days. Everything arrived today. It was the best shave I've ever experienced! I almost thought I didn't have a blade in or something was wrong because I couldn't feel the shave at all. It was that smooth. I'm blown away. And Ive always used what I thought was the best (Gillette proglide). I'll never go back. Safety razor all the way.
I hope what you say is true, because I have started with the safety razor and barbasol, but I have not found it any better so far. I am waiting for my brush and soap, and will be very disappointed if it doesn't make a difference.
My experience over the past month has not lived up to the hype. I have tried two different razors and three different blade brands. The only selling points for me is that the razor I'm using now doesn't clog and the blades are much cheaper than cartridges.
@@heinzerbrew I'm using up my Edge shave gel. I haven't had a problem with it. Once it's gone I'll start with my soap and brush. I just started with a butterfly style razor and am so glad I made the switch. $0.12 per blade as apposed to $1.25 for a Track II. I get 100 blades for about $12 on Amazon.
Switched to DE shaving just over a month ago and will never go back. I hated to shave before, now I can't wait to shave. Wouldn't shave two days in a row with cartridges due to skin irritation, but with the DE I can do two days in a row with no issues. It's more of a process but well worth every minute of it.
About a year ago I switched to DE also. got tired of paying upwards of 4 dollars a cartridge nicked myself first couple times. Now that I've got use to it I'm sorry I didn't switch a lot sooner less money more comfortable and better shave.
Switched to DE a year ago after using cartridges for ~30 years. I'm amazed how little I cut myself now compared to before. No burning feeling either. Yes my shaving sessions may have become a little longer but also much more. enjoyable.
Van Der hagen has a Decent razor handle terrible blades the blades I got dragged and cut my face several times switched to viking revolution blades and cuts like a dream smooth and sharp
I don't mind Van Der Hagen/Weishi razors but I had some of my worst cuts from the Van Der Hagen blades. Honestly, I use a Parker 23C or some Gellette 60's replica razor. Both slightly more expensive but better razors overall. One is mild to medium and one is medium to aggressive
Safety Razor by a mile. Once you use it, you'll know why. The cartridges are the biggest shit on the market for beards. They always irritated my skin and I had little wounds because of it. The Safety Razor is so much better. You have to practice a little bit, but it's more accurate and comfortable for your skin.
Fabolous NineNine I know it’s all opinions but personally I prefer the cartridges razors with a safety razor you have to do all the work yourself and I bled every time I use them but with the Cartridges razor all you have to do is literally slide them over your face or wherever you want to use them so that’s better I guess
I find I'm just as likely to get nicks with a cartridge razor and a safety razor. But unlike the single cut I get with a safety razor nick I get multiple cuts with.a cartridge razor nick.
At 62 years old, I have been using the Track II razor for years. I finally got fed up with the price of the blades and bought a butterfly style safety razor. I get a very comfortable and smooth shave with it. At a cost of $0.12 per blade it is something I wish I had done years ago. I can remember as a child, my dad and grand dad using this type of razor. Funny how the old style is coming back into favor. My son is now looking into getting one for himself. I will never go back to those multi blade razors again. Better shave - lower cost. It's a no brainer.
Yesterday I shaved with my brand-new Mühle R89. It was the best shave I've ever had. No more expensive cartridges from me. And I thoroughly concur that lathering up with a brush is brilliant.
I shave my head Gillette fusion prosheild flexball chill or Gillette skinguard. I love.bbs head shave.or schick hydro 5 is excellent razor for my head.
those are the best blades ever. ive tried lots, and oddly enough that was the first one i bought and never found one better. Beloved feathers are just a little too easy to get nicks and dull quickly. astras seem to be good consistent even on a 3rd shave. top notch blades. i have the 34c also... one of three!!
@@honeypower You will find more success with astra. they are more consistent, don't nick as easily, and don't pull like derby's. They perform longer as well, you can easily get 3 or more shaves on them... i'm sure i've done 5 or more just forgetting to swap blades. Derbys sometimes 1 good shave, maybe a couple, but they pull a lot and just aren't very sharp in my mind. I started with Astra's, and then tried easily 15-20 other blades after, and the go to has stayed Astra.
i like the feel of shaving with safety razers over cartridge razers, feather blades work very well for me along with creamo shaving cream. also while not always needed, toner/aftershave is nice as it'll help close up minor cuts and when choosing one, find one that you think smells nice
I've been using the original Gillette Sensor since about 1989. I liked it better than others through the years. Enough so that I bought a backup handle in the early 90s. When the original finally gave up the ghost about ten years ago, I broke out the backup handle. It's still good, but I've always wondered about good old safety razors since Sensor cartridges are expensive now. The Sensor's two blades vs. the later bazillion blade razors always worked best for me. So I am about to take the plunge into a safety razor. Wish me luck gentlemen!
Omg, I always said this myself. I used to use the sensor excel II, and all the razors since have felt worse. I'd rather use a cheap bic razor over the big five blade ones. They lose all precision, and they don't feel like they shave closer - they just clog up with hair.
I use both. If I shave regularly I like the safety razor. Otherwise, with more growth I prefer the multi blades. Not all multi blades are equal. In my experience the mach 3 is about as good as they come. The cream and shaved hair washes away from the blades easily and still gets under the nose good also. It cause less irritation when there is more hair growth to shave. Ive never had to go over the same areas that many times. Im also a brush guy.
This man has turned me into a real man that shaves the right way. Have used mach 3 for years and always thought it was me that was causing the razor burn but it wasnt it is the razor. Bought a few safety razors and now i dont think i will ever look back!
tried a safty rasor today for the first time in my life and I regret every single time I used cartridges especially the one blade cartridges. Also for the first time I did not bleed.
Pure facts in this video, he nailed it guys. I switched to a safety razor 3 years ago and couldn’t be any happier. No more razor bumps or irritation after the switch. Plus you’ll save a ton of money. These days you can get up to 300 blades for under $30!
Salu2
I am switching to DE, but if this was the first video I found on the subject I'd walk away. The things he says are inaccurate and biased. For example the blades on these cartridges do not perform the same as a DE blade so 5 blades on a cartridge does not equal the damage of 5 DE blades. The blades are much more spring and flexible than the rigid DE. I know what you said is a joke, but I suspect you do believe this was a fair comparison video.
Thank you so much for this video! So informative! I'm a woman so I need to shave much more than just my face. My skin is EXTREMELY sensitive. I grew up thinking there were only three options- cartrige saving, waxing, and lazer hair removal. The latter two only being for the wealthy. Which I am not. Cartridge razors wreck hell on my bikini area. Bleeding, razor burn, bumps, iching, and constant pain. Not to mention how unsanitary it can be. (For those of you who don't know, disposable razors actially make tiny, microscopic cuts on the skin. This increases your chances of getting an STD, STI, or urinary tract infection.) I have been using hair removal cream, which works well, but I can't inagine it's good for me, especially for long-term. You really hit the nail on the head with this video. I hate constantly having to go over the same area 10 times just to get it semi-smooth. I know this comment was a bit of a TMI, but I do think it's important to adress the health aspect of what cartidge razors can do. I truly think shaving with these razors has contributed to the increasing rate of STIs/STDs nationwide.
This channel is a requirement going from cartridge to safety blade. I am now enjoying shaving more now after discovering this channel and learning proper shaving etiquette.
I can't agree more as a 15 year-old my mother got me a Gillette, Mach-3, and it caused me so much irritation and ingrown hair, the cartridges were damn expensive for a teenager and thanks to my beard growth they blunted quickly(and they still do but guess what safety blades are cheap so who cares), I remember switching to a safety razor at 19 and now I preach this word and many of my friends converted for economical, skin health and just to look rugged
Great Video Geo, you taught me how to shave with a DE razor you and Mantic. I went back to my cartridge after 6 years of DE shaving and razor bumps came back. You know the true Art of Shaving! Your one of the pioneers who have been in the game for a long time who would've thought that something so simple as shaving would make such an impact. Blessings Geo!! Thanks for all that you do!!
@@snailnslug3 ya, just tried it. Shocked the hell out of me at how easily it took my beard off. None of that slimy feeling those aloe strips leave behind either. The only downside to me, was that when I cut myself (because no matter what I WILL cut myself) it bled a lot. Still surprisingly it was only slightly annoying, whereas with a cartridge I'll have a few stinging paper cut knicks, instead of the small bleeder. All in all I'm pretty happy, and it was kinda fun.
You can buy a styptic pencil or alum block...cuts do happen at first...depending on what handle you buy some are more aggressive then others...for beginners aggressive isn't good. I bought a really aggressive DE awhile back...I used to have a mole on my upper lip....now I don't...I learned my lesson.
As someone with sensitive skin, I can attest to this. Used cartridge razors on my face and my skin would be inflamed, irritated, and red for hours so I stopped close shaving for a while and only used electric razors resulting in the perpetual five o'clock shadow. Eventually decided to try the double edged safety razor and it was the solution. No irritation, no redness, no razor burn, and it's an enjoyable ritual to go through to start your day when you have a full shaving set, really has a feeling of elegance and decadency.
I like this video... Been shaving with a safety razor for just over a year now and I definitely don't miss the tugging of the cartridge razor! Its amazing how easily it removes whiskers. Thanks Geofatboy for all your videos!

I watched this guys video back in 2014 and I immediately got hooked on buying safety razors, brushes and all the different creams and shaving soaps. Its a real cool hobby
I bought a pack of Wilkinsons sword double edge razors for my shavette i started using again, i opened the packet and every single blade had "A Gillette Product" stamped on it, which was kind of annoying. I was always planning on stopping using cartridges because of the insane price ($28 for 8 cartridges) but the ad was the final straw for me.
Oh, man; I could almost feel the pain just by watching you use one of those multi-blades razors. I've been using my safety DE razor for well over 5-6 years now and I enjoy -not suffer- every single shave. Using a traditional creme or soap with a brush makes a critical difference too.
Used my new safety razor today for first time. No cuts or scrapes but ive been using a straight for 10 years or so which maybe helped with the technique. Replaced my stupid Gillette disposables I used when I was in a rush and didn't want to go through the straight razor process. Was a great shave and super easy and quick. Score! Bought 100 blades for like 10 bucks.
Thank you for all you do Geo. I made the switch about 2 months ago. Switched from the cartridge straight to straight razor. Skipped the safety razor. Although I do plan on still getting one for myself. By the age of 31 I really hated shaving. Something I never really enjoyed, just got it done. Now I have actually found enjoyment in my daily shave thanks to you Geo. Keep up the good work you will always have my support. Plus I get to pass down the right way to shave to my son. Which I really look forward to doing. He's already fascinated by daddies shaving ritual lol thanks again. Hope you and your family are doing well. Have a great shave have a great day 👍
@@geofatboy thank you for your response 🙏. I totally agree with you wholeheartedly. All about taking that time for yourself and making sure you enjoy it and get the best shave possible. I personally thought I would never find this much enjoyment from my daily shave routine. But now I have thanks to you with your plethora of information and helpful tips. I really can't thank you enough. You have changed my whole outlook on the shaving process. Hope you have a wonderful day 👍
Just switched to a Rockwell Razor model T. It's easily as fast and smooth as my old cartridge razor and way cheaper. The model T was a kickstarter project so the new one's are back ordered but the execution of the razor is flawless. Rockwell has a number of classic safety razors, 6C, and 6S which have the same range as the model T, just a bit more work to change the width of the cut.
I live in the Netherlands, from my experience most of the stuff you can buy here in the Grocery Stores are from Gilette or Wilkinson, are heavily overpriced (cartridge systems that is) and just not good at all in my experience. The rate of irritation after using these products is high; to stimulate you to buy other products as well (like lotions) ? But it's also not only the cartridge system; check out the foams (several brands) you buy in these canisters, there looks to be a kind of acid in it to create more volume and this can potentially irritate your skin even more (if the PH value differs). Once I switched to the Double Edge razors I only noticed then I could shave much smoother with (almost) no irritation in combination with traditional (pre-)shave cream and soaps. Yes it will take you more time in the beginning (few minutes more) but you will enjoy the shave much more, have a better result, less skin burn & irritation. Also the traditional shave set (DE razor, brush, shaving bowl) looks more awesome than the plastic throw away cartridges. Money wise, you will also earn back the investment of a DE razor very quickly and after that it will be much cheaper (a blade costs 10-20 cents composed to a few dollars of a cartridge) Today I ordered my 2nd Rockwell Razor (Rockwell 6S), the 6T is also out but I wanted to try the 6S first. The cream and soap I order are from an Italian brand, but that it very personal (the scent and so on).; Try a DE, borrow one from a friend, of course clean it very well first with high percentage alcohol, check out the RUclips instruction video's, become a pro and spread the word.
That sounds identical to american stores, which have 99% disposable, plastic, and multi blade cartridge- extremely over priced. The "mega" pack of pro glide cartridges cost $39. and the canister "shaving cream" is horrible. and for women: everything comes in pink color, and 5 blade cartridge razors are for shaving legs and pubic hair.
My Mach 3 served me really well for about 15 years. During this time i've used just 8 cartridges. Do the match. Very good shave results. Really fast and safe even with an up and down motion (yes it works. reduces the shaving time by half). BUT...either my facial hair became very hard last year, or the last 2 cartridges had very very soft blades and wore out REALLY fast. After just two shaves they simply wouldn't cut. Then i saw that the price of those things has skyrocketed and i didn't even bother replacing them. I got a nice safety razor and 15 blades. Let's see how long they last. In terms of shaving results....well i'm a "noob" and still have perfected my technique, but the shave is rather inconsistent, especially on the chin and jawline. The Mach 3 was very consistent around those.
After watching more of these YT videos about DE safety razors than I can remember, it was obvious I needed to give them another go. I grew up using my grandfather’s, and never liked it. But of course, I was a novice back then and maybe he wasn’t investing in good blades. Almost 40 years of shaving had me wind up with disposable multi blade cartridge razors. You get 3 or 4 for $5-$10, and I’ve found some that leave me with a baby smooth shave that’s the best I’ve had in my life. Currently, my favorite are the 5 blade Schick Hydro. They’re sharp, quick, forgiving, and I’ve only had one mishap in the two years I’ve been using them. But again, these videos convinced me I need to give the safety razor another opportunity. I finally got the Wilkinson Sword kit with DE safety razor, with 5 DE blades that win fairly high praise here. While I was at it, I also got the Wilkinson Sword shave soap and brush. I eased into this by using the soap and brush for a month. It’s a good way to go, and I have come to enjoy it, although the process adds a lot of time to the shave. Finally, I jumped in with the DE safety razor. First shave was somewhat of a scary experience. Yes, memories of all the nicks and cuts I used to endure immediately returned. Perhaps being tentative played a big role, but the shave was nowhere near as close as I’ve become used to. I also disliked the much heavier razor. That said, I survived, and wanted to give this a month. I understand I need to develop my technique, and obviously a lot of guys in these videos found success with this regimen. A month has now passed, and I spend 6 days a week with the DE, and one day with my Schick disposable. I have definitely improved, and have become more comfortable with the DE safety razor, and can produce a much better result. That said, it’s still nowhere near as close, as comfortable, or as safe as the disposable. I’m going to keep going a little longer, and have considered trying a different blade, and see what happens. Maybe it’s me, but I just don’t find anything about the DE safety razor that’s superior to the better disposable razors available today. Another thing that often comes up is economics and environmental considerations. Given this is definitely a hobby for many here, and while it could be a cheaper way to go, I think that’s not really the case. Watching the amount of money spent on trying and collecting all manner of razors, brushes, soaps, and blades equates to significant cost. On my end, an $8 pack of razors lasts me 3-5 months, of again, much safer, more comfortable, much closer shaves. And in complete truth, the volume a razor takes up as a percentage of the total waste my family generates almost doesn’t even register. Again, maybe it’s me, but I’m about to walk away from the old style razors for the second time in my life
You are maintaining those cartridge razors really well, which is to be commended you make them last a long time and get great value for money out of them. Most do no and they have to buy more every few shaves, making it incredibly costly, I believe the average man uses about 8 cartridges a month which if your using Gillette Fusions makes that $25 a month which is $300 a year on razors for 1 person and 96 pieces of metal encased in plastic in the bin every year. You could buy 100 blades for $8 that would last you the entire year instead which are 100% metal and can be safety recycled or disposed of environmentally friendly. Pretty big difference if you ask me. Don't give up on the safety razor just yet, you just have to find a razor and blades that work for you, there are many different choices to try or can lookup reviews for. Every man's skin is different and you might just find your dream razor + blades, find you enjoy it and save some money too :).
cattysplat thank you for your perspective. I’m going to give DE safety razors more of a chance. I’m looking at a couple of plastic versions the Wilkinson and Merkur, which are affordable and address my preference for a much lighter razor. I also acquired a sampler, with Feather and Derby and four or five others in between those two, which should cover the shades in between. On the disposable side, I’ve really done well. Two weeks ago, the local papers featured a sale on the Schick 5 blade Hydro I’ve discovered this past year that definitively provide me the best shaves of my life. Sale was $8.99 for a 3 pack, with a $4 coupon that brings the price down to $4.99. Even better, at the supermarket, I found several 4 packs that included an extra razor. That works out to $1.25 per razor. And in use, I started a new razor May 1, and after several weeks, felt I’d move to the next one on June 1. But as I hit that day, still getting incredibly close, comfortable shaves, I decided to let it go until July 1. Incredible! I’m talking closer shaves that I have gotten from any other razor, disposable, cartridge, DE, anything. Baby smooth, comfortable, and maybe only a couple episodes of irritation and maybe one nick or two in more than a year. This with me shaving blindly in the shower, which is lightning fast. More and more, I wonder why I bother as there is currently nothing better available today. But I have an attraction to the wet shaving culture, DE safety razors, blades, and all. Maybe it will work out, though it’s a far more lengthy, dangerous, attention demanding process yielding a far less close shave. The sampler pack and a different razor will obviously provide me with the ultimate answer
I started by switching to traditional shave soap and brush with my cartridge razor. When I got fed up with the cost of blades, I finally made the switch to a modern DE-safety (Henson) and won't go back. I know I have my dad's vintage Gillette Aristocrat stored away somewhere. I gotta find it and give it a try. BTW... I don't mind the echo at all. It sets the scene firmly in the shaving zone/bathroom.
I’ll been using safety razor until I went to army . Then one day I didn’t have any blade and a friend of mine gave mi a cartridge razor. It was great .Fast , no cuts . Best decision I’ve made. And there’s no only Gillette. And I’m using just normal soap , no shaving foam . 👍🏻
Solid metal cheapo safety razor that will last a lifetime $17. One hundred DE razor blades $15. Gillette write-down of EIGHT BILLION DOLLARS!!! ----- priceless. Safety razor is far superior in every way than over-priced plastic cartridges. Always.
uk7769 I’ve been using DE safety razors for over 12 years. After I retired 3 years ago I’ve used primarily a straight razor. I use the DE when I’m pressed for time, it’s is quicker and safer than a straight razor. Don’t be in a hurry shaving with a straight. Overall, I enjoy shaving with a straight the beat. However, the learning curve with sharpening and shaving was about 3-4 months. I definitely wouldn’t recommend a straight razor if you’re a busy person.
You guys are going to hate for this, but here I go. Just moved back to mach3 from using safety razor(lost the handle) 2 months ago. I actually enjoy it better, it never knicks me, I'm also not prone to ingrown hair and don't have sensitive skin. Yeah, it's slightly pricier, but not that much actually. I use that m3 10x, platinum lasted 3 shaves for me(really thick beard). For now, I actually don't see myself going back to safety(that I used for past 5 yrs or so). And I feel so much smoother also.
Just had my first shave with a safety razor after 20 years of using cartridge razors. From the first swipe i could already feel the difference. No bumps or tugs or cuts. Was an amazing experience and is my new way to shave from now on.
I shaved DE exclusively for over a year but still get the best shaves from a Mach 3. Enjoyed the DE process more but the end result is what matters most. Guess it comes down to an individual's skin.
I agree with you. I love safety razors. I have 10 safety razors, open and closed combs, many blade tipes, and use them for over 5 years. It’s more funny and it’s an amazing ritual, but my gillette Mach3 is still the best for not irritating and for smoothness
I agree with you. My best shave is with the Schick Quattro. I have spent a lot of money on the DE razor and soap, creams. The Quattro costs me less than a dollar 90 at Walmart and 1 cartridge lasts for a month.
I can agree with you. I shaved with safety razor for 2,3 years and one day I was talking with my dad about shaving, he was in a millitary so he shaves every day. He showed me simple tricks when shaving with carts and I must say that now I am getting the best shaves of my life with carts in just a couple of minutes. I am using sensor, mach 3 and even Fusion. I can say that 90% of people just dont know how to shave with carts. This video shows exactly what I am talking about. You cant use the same thickness of leader, and apply the shaving cream the same way for one blade and five blade razors...
I agree 100%. The best shaves I ever gotten came from a Mach 3 or Quatro. A great shave isnt as important to me as saving a few bucks which is why I use DE razors for about three years now. I own vintage and new safety razor and none of them give me a great shave like the mach 3 gave me. I also have more Nick's and cuts with safety razors.
Switched to a safety razor a few months back. Using a Merkur 34c with Astra blades. So much better than my the Gillette Fusion Proglide I was using before and blades are 10p each as opposed about £2 each for cartridge.
geofatboy Ha Ha! Took a minute to register given I'm British and we had our own, original version of The Office. It's my real name, damn you Ricky Gervais!
I switched from Gillette pro fusion glide (still have 1 or 2 cartridges) to Muhle R89 closed comb and Astra Platinum+Derby Extra, and I have a 100 pack of Astra platinum coming, and a 100 pack of Feathers, which are made in Japan feather blades. The bloody cartridges cost about 4.50€ per cartridge. Astra Platinum blades cost 0.10€ per blade...
Just switched from Mach 3 to a 34C HD and my face loves me for it. Thank you for your videos. You taught me how to shave properly. Saves my face from irritation and my wallet from the cost of disposables. My wife got a safety razor for her legs as we are trying to eliminate plastics and waste in our home. We are both hooked and looking forward to our next shave! Thank you for educating us good sir and have a great shave, have a great day.
Thanks for the video. I switched to safety razor and get rid of all my skin issues after shaving. With cartridge I shave 3 times a week now with safety razor I shave every day with pleasure no problems
Why Bash Gillette? I use a Gillette safety razor from 1960. It works flawlessly. It is adjustable and many people seek them out. The Fat Boy is a classic. You will pay a premium for used ones. I also use the Gillette super mega multi bladed cartridges too. They work good and last a long time. If I am in a hurry I use the disposable multi-cartridge. It gets the job done, and and doesn't make me bleed. The double edge Fat Boy safety razor is for times when I want to take the time to pamper myself. I bring out all of the products and take my time. I'm loyal to both the old Fat Boy and the Multi cartridge Gillettes.
I really like the shave I get from the safety razor-but being new to using it I get multiple cuts per shave-still learning the technique. I think it comes down to knowing the direction of your stubble growth so you can shave with the grain.
Going to use my DE for the first time today. I've been struggling with ingrown hair for a couple of years now. I have coarse hair so it's even more prone to grow in. I hope this will fix it
I'm 20 years old and i just switched from multi blade razors to a safety double edge razor and i've got to say im loving it and the nice clean shave it gives me. I'm the type of guy that likes to have a clean and shaved face all the time, and while with multiblade razors i had to shave every other day, with the safety one i only have to shave like, 2 times a week.
Probably because you don't have much hair. I have very little on my face, so junk disposables work just fine. My safety razor gets its most use on my body shaving- which is the only thing that shaves my pubic hair without cutting or razor burn.
I love mine... And short of having to do periodically lubrication maintenance of the Safety razors actual (movable/twistable parts) aswell as the adjusting stem attached to them & its head (to allow the razors head to open and close smoothly (and not freeze up, or bind, as you try to twist it to replace blades) I've had the best shaves of my life since I purchased mine... "Though I did get nicked a few times when I was first started to use this style of razor, but that was because I was only used to using the cartridge style razors before this one..."lol! Anyways I was actually shocked to find out how long this type of design of razor had existed, and was shocked that the Major Razor companies had decided to replace this style with the newer (more problematic) Cartridge style ones...
Carts are great if you have the proper technique. The thing that makes people hate carts is improper technique. I use my DE technique with carts and strop my carts. Works great for me.
When I still used cartridge razors, I could get 17 shaves out of a cartridge. By drying it on a towel after shaving and stroping it on a piece of jeans.
I have tried DE shaving several times, learned the technique, and spent a fortune on different razors, blades, and accessories but unfortunately, it's not for me. I get a far closer, more comfortable, and quicker shave with a cartridge razor.
@@samo4955 Massage the foam or gel well and use light strokes, and of course, change the blade after 7 or 8 shaves depending on your beard thickness and coverage.
Bought a safety razor today and shaved off my beard. Got almost all of it off with one pass. Second pass finished it off. It would take me multiple passes with cartridge razors. I am 100% sold on the safety razor. I also didn't have a single nick or cut like I got with a cartridge razor. Thanks for motivating me to try one!

Just made my first shave with the Muhle R89 Traditional Grande, it's awesome.
@@samsteel4456 I don’t see why you are so offended in the comments. It’s hella cringe. I just switched from cartridge to a safety razor and I like it better. It doesn’t irritate my skin and I no longer get ingrown hairs. Just a more comfortable shave. Plus it’s way cheaper.
Thank you... I use double blade razor but it's causing a lot of pimple problems. I will give single blade a try although it feels like its hard to use.
Great vids, buddy. I switched to using a safety razor, and the price savings alone, which, I thought were unnecessary at first turn out to be a huge bonus. The soaps, and creams, as well as using a brush make shaving a much more enjoyable experience for me. Good job with these vids, and keep it up, buddy.
I'm a DE shaver as well, and appreciate it much more than cartridge shaving... however I feel like this video is trying way too hard to give cartridge shaving a bad rap. I've compared between the two, I am still able to get a very close shave with a cartridge razor.
I re-discovered the DE safety razor a few years ago when I ran out of disposables, I had my fathers old DE in my vanity, and one pack of blades(probably 40 years old). I cracked out a shaving brush and cup that I got for a present 10 years ago, and I fell in love with the old style of shaving. I then bought a new Parker long handle razor, and retired my fathers razor to my travel kit .I make my own after shave by mixing 2 oz. of rubbing alcohol with 2 oz. of water and 1 oz. of aqua velva (straight aqua velva smells way too strong for me) Also, a little trick I learned years ago , is to dip the razor head in rubbing alcohol and let air dry when done shaving, it makes the blade last 3 times as long ! I can often shave for a month with the same blade. At 7 cents a blade, it make shaving very cheap, you don't need to buy 50 cent apiece Bic, or $23 Gillette cartridge re-fills . Just take your time ,re-lather once or twice, do a second or even a third pass, and enjoy the art of shaving !
It's been a few weeks since i discovered DE razors, and man it has made shaving so much fun. I use to get severe irritation using cartridge razors but since i've switched it has gotten 99% better, very few if any irritation.
Seems to me with the modern cartridge razor they've engineered all the skill out of shaving. No need to find the angle of the blade. No need to be careful with the blade because they're spring mounted and have a pivoting head. Shaving is almost mindless with a cartridge razor.
Really good points. DE shaving needs a few skills, though they are easily learned. To my mind, traditional shaving is a hobby, something to be enjoyed. Cartridge shaving is more like brushing your teeth ; something that must be done, but that gives little pleasure. (No offense to dentists; I brush and floss daily.)😀
david czapla I only shave because I have to for work. If I wasn't forced to shave, I wouldn't. In my mind, shaving is a waste of time. So I prefer cartridge razors, it lessens the time and effort of shaving.
Kieran M get a mach 3 from gillete, idk about the 7 blades one, but it seemed really bad. I use a safety razor myself, but looking back on my old mach 3, i was always very pleased.
Both types work well with the right prep. Also, cartdridge razors may be expensive but you easily get 30 shaves out of a fusion proglide. And you don't need to go more than once or twice over the same spot. Be honest, Geo.
starlodear Its true that cart razors can get a lot of shaves, but isn't 30 alot for just one blade? I'm thinking 10, or 15 max (for a satisfactory shave with my type of facial hair, granted my growth is probably different to yours). For a pack of 5 double edge safety razors, you can get around 3 or 4 good shaves per blade. It does tend to be much cheaper to buy a pack of double edge razors than to get even a single head of a quality cartridge blade. Not to mention the shave is better and much less irritating.
That's exactly what I was talking about. I have even used Gillette foam a fusion cartridge and got a baby butt smooth shave in 5 minutes, very little mess to clean up, and out the door to work. GEO wants to sell high dollar safety razor and preshave oils and the expensive soaps. Take a look at 1.50 can of Barbasol and a Gillette fusion and compare it to all the preshave, brushes and the other, did you really save anything?
@@kavir3359 I've used the same cart for over a hundred shaves and it's worked just fine. Keep it dry and strop it before each use and it makes it last far longer than the manufactures would want you to think it does.
Every time I try using a safety razor I get a million little cuts on my face. Can someone give a tip or two on how to avoid this? On the other hand, I can shave with a multi blade razor in about 2 minutes all directions and I don’t get a drop of blood. Thanks in advance
Maybe you press to hard and/or do too long strokes and/or shave too fast. Don't shave more than max 5 cm pr. stroke and do it slowly. Also shave right after a shower and maybe add som pre shave like e.g Proraso pre shave cream. Also remember to do a proper lathering. And remember to change your blade often - with the low prices you can afford to use a blade only for 2-3 shaves.
I only had that on my first shave with a safety razor. Until I found out that I should not put any pressure on the razor. (Like you would, shaving with a cartridge razor.) Let the weight of the razor do the work. Short strokes works best. Also make sure you you replace the blade after a couple of shaves.
Vic R. Maybe you should use a Merkur future, Parker adjustable or a Gillette slim, with these ones you can set the aggressiveness of your blade, and use Derby blades or Merkur blades, they are not aggressive.
A hint for less irritation for people with sensitive skin. I don't use shaving creams or gels but buy Tea Tree conditioner and use that both for my face and my head. It's unbelievable. Leaves the skin feeling fresh and rash free especially for those of us shaving our heads. Highly recommended!
@@geofatboy no I just found it so much better than using shaving creams and gels. But that's just how I feel. We are all different and have our own preferences. I just found I had less skin issues this way.
Thank you for putting your ad up Man, has been a big help to me. I used disposable blades for years and, got cuts nicks and lot of irration constant . Now got a safety razor on eBay and, is the best closest shave . Truly fantastic shaving every day, now is a joy . Wish I had this little gem years ago 😀
The amount of plastic that is used in making those cartridges is reason alone to never use them, not to mention the clog factor, and the cost.
but how do you feel about changing blade every time in sophisticated manner in safety razor.

No one cares where you are from or your origin really
This 'Scam' is on par with the Printer Ink Cartridge 'Scam' - Both are designed to rip the comsumer off and give them the worst value for money.
Bro, this comment section really hates Gillette
That may be true, but they brought it all upon themselves... Everyone makes a mistake now and again. Even giant companies owned by P&G.
@@geofatboy What s the beef with Gillette. I use exclusively Gillette both old and new.
Gillette makes their own safety razor :D
their DE razor blades actually arent bad, but the gillette cartridges are a rip off and don't shave as well no question.
murtisoft No... not really no...
My biggest problem with the multi-blade cartridges was that because of the close spacing, they easily got clogged full of stubble that wouldn't rinse out. It's literally like shaving with a cheese grater. After finally switching to wetshaving with a DE safety razor, my face has never felt better.
Thats the reason they popularised shave foams and gels which are way thinner than shave creams/soaps
@@jayakrishnancp8848 I'm only using my cartridge razor on my balls and crack from now on, these areas aren't very sensitive.
I like to shave around once a week, but doing so leaves enough length to clog up any cartridge unless I rinse after every stroke. I bought an open comb safety razor and shaved 2 weeks of growth right off with minimal rinsing and zero irritation. That's what sold me.
I’ve always had that problem with regular disposable razors
Bro shake your razor in mug full of warm water or swing and hit it at some rod (the shake it will get will make all the hair and grim come out) thats what i do always. I out my razer under running water in my wash basin and also keep hitting my razor head rubber side border at basin with little force, with few hits my razor gets clear
Thanks Gillette, without you I wouldn't be here learning how to really shave.
I'm wondering about upgrading the blades on amazon since like the difference between luxury premium safety blades and generics are like literally pennies (10$ for 100 5 star astras vs 6$ for a low ranked 2.5 star generic! , at 4 cents difference a blade, who's counting?!? )
Use aloe vera plant direct on your chin....
@@Notyouraveragename the astras are fantastic

Tried it, but not for me. I'm sticking with Match 3 or Schick 3 for a far closer, more comfortable, and quicker shave.
I'm using the plow 2.0 what're your thoughts ? I'm trying to get used to it but maybe you gotta a better one to recommend ?

Me too. Best shave I have had. And it is joy to do.
My experience over the past month has not lived up to the hype. I have tried two different razors and three different blade brands. The only selling points for me is that the razor I'm using now doesn't clog and the blades are much cheaper than cartridges.

17.00 van der Hagen razor and a 30 cent blade can’t go wrong
I love Van Der Hagen. But the last two sets of blades I've bought, the package was completely empty🙃
I just bought one yesterday. I’m actually excited to shave later
I actually started bleeding a bit after the first use of my safety razor. But I guess I have to learn that still haha
My experience is the opposite. Cartridges never hurt me but a poorly adjusted safety razor, can peel my skin!
It does take practice but once you get the hang of it you'll be clean shaven in less than 2 minutes.
I agree. a 12 cent blade is good for four shaves! The cartridge costs more but sure is handy when you want to get the job done.

Gillette makes safety razors too though they're under the king c. Gillette name tho but it's the same company

Seing this video really opened my eyes to why im getting razor burn when shaving just bought a 34c with astra platinum blades 👍
those are the best blades ever. ive tried lots, and oddly enough that was the first one i bought and never found one better. Beloved feathers are just a little too easy to get nicks and dull quickly. astras seem to be good consistent even on a 3rd shave. top notch blades. i have the 34c also... one of three!!
That's exactly the same setup I started with! They are an amazing combo for my skin, how do you like them?
Try the Viking razors out on Amazon. I don’t care for my 34c anymore. Viking has really taken it up a notch for the modern shaver. Check em out
Are astra platinum blades better for a beginner or Derby platinum? Or something else? Can anyone advise?
Thanks for sharing!
I cut myself every time I use a feather blade - they are SHARP lol

This increases your chances of getting an STD, STI, or urinary tract infection.)
I have been using hair removal cream, which works well, but I can't inagine it's good for me, especially for long-term.
I been using a double edge safety razor about 4 months now and I am not going back to cartage ever again.
Thanks to Gillette, I'm actually being more masculine due to having to relearn to shave. May P&G rot in hell.
Its not even relearning. You just dont push down . The razor is heavy enough and the blades are legit to do the work.
Grow a beard bruh. You will be even more masculine than now
You can buy a styptic pencil or alum block...cuts do happen at first...depending on what handle you buy some are more aggressive then others...for beginners aggressive isn't good. I bought a really aggressive DE awhile back...I used to have a mole on my upper lip....now I don't...I learned my lesson.

Anyone here because of Gillette's recent PR fiasco? :D
Great video btw :D
Yep, no more Gillette for me.

Yeah, I'll never buy Gillette again, so sick of this feminist, anti man crusade. I can't imagine being a millennial guy today. Must be so hard.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing.
I like this video... Been shaving with a safety razor for just over a year now and I definitely don't miss the tugging of the cartridge razor! Its amazing how easily it removes whiskers. Thanks Geofatboy for all your videos!
Just switched to a DE razor. Astonished at how much less irritation I got, and how much closer I could shave.
Gillette raises my oestrogen levels.
Their shaving cream definitely will. Have s\you seen the garbage in there? It has lots of carcinogens.

I watched this guys video back in 2014 and I immediately got hooked on buying safety razors, brushes and all the different creams and shaving soaps. Its a real cool hobby
Remember lads, when replacing your Gillette cartridge razor, don't accidentally buy their blades.
Also, don't buy Braun, they're a P&G company.
Good to know....I for one didn't know that.
Agreed. P&G has their hands in everything.
@SilentBob420BMFJ Have you tried the Braun Series 9? I'm considering buying it
I use Voskhod blades and I don't have any Gillette blades or razors.
Oh, man; I could almost feel the pain just by watching you use one of those multi-blades razors. I've been using my safety DE razor for well over 5-6 years now and I enjoy -not suffer- every single shave. Using a traditional creme or soap with a brush makes a critical difference too.
Switched to a safety razor this past year. A much nicer shave and the prep is enjoyable. Thanks for the vids, very helpful.
Have a great shave have a great day 👍
Hi Justin! No matter how you do it-it's all about enjoying your shave, and you are so that's great! Thanks and take care.
Gary Powell I’m jealous! I want one but they aren’t going to be available for awhile, apparently!
But it's also not only the cartridge system; check out the foams (several brands) you buy in these canisters, there looks to be a kind of acid in it to create more volume and this can potentially irritate your skin even more (if the PH value differs). Once I switched to the Double Edge razors I only noticed then I could shave much smoother with (almost) no irritation in combination with traditional (pre-)shave cream and soaps. Yes it will take you more time in the beginning (few minutes more) but you will enjoy the shave much more, have a better result, less skin burn & irritation. Also the traditional shave set (DE razor, brush, shaving bowl) looks more awesome than the plastic throw away cartridges. Money wise, you will also earn back the investment of a DE razor very quickly and after that it will be much cheaper (a blade costs 10-20 cents composed to a few dollars of a cartridge) Today I ordered my 2nd Rockwell Razor (Rockwell 6S), the 6T is also out but I wanted to try the 6S first. The cream and soap I order are from an Italian brand, but that it very personal (the scent and so on).;
Try a DE, borrow one from a friend, of course clean it very well first with high percentage alcohol, check out the RUclips instruction video's, become a pro and spread the word.
15 years with 8 cartridges? Do you have any beard growth at all. Lmao. I would use 100 times as many
After watching more of these YT videos about DE safety razors than I can remember, it was obvious I needed to give them another go.
Nice gift from you're Dad! I'd be in search mode!
shaving with a cartridge razor is like shaving with a cheese grater safety razors are better.
Exactly!
i've been using a safety razor for about 4 years never went back my favorite razors is my 1930s gillette new standard and my 38c are my go to razors .
Get some sun and wind, you will Cowboy up!
Always.

I’ve been using DE safety razors for over 12 years.
Well I do have toxic masculinity but I still use a safety razor
I like that it's an actual comparison. Thanks for the video.
Bought a Merkur a bit ago. Super happy with it. Just need to buy better shaving creams.
Baum Ast your English is better than my German!
Thanks Michael! How's the paper business?
geofatboy Ha Ha!
Awesome Angelo! I'm glad you are both enjoying it!
Thanks for the video. I switched to safety razor and get rid of all my skin issues after shaving. With cartridge I shave 3 times a week now with safety razor I shave every day with pleasure no problems
I also started to love shaving after i switched to a safety razor.
Anything so long as it isn't Gillette.
Well atleast their DE Blades are good :P

Yeah, their Silver Blue blades are highly regarded as some of the smoothest and longest lasting.
#metoo Recently bought a Edwin Jagger DE89, never going back to cartridges again. Screw you Gillette and your new age BS
There's an extra blade on the back of the cartridge razor for hairs under the nose and sideburns, you just hold the handle backwards.
Wait really?
Wow TIL
Just about to try safety razors but this video certainly isn't an accurate representation of how I use a cartridge. I need one pull and not six.
I had to pull 1 time if it's brand new and after than not less than 3 at least but it burns and it also caused many ingrown hair
Im still using safety razor.. been using it for years and im loving it.. keep the tradition alive!!!
I've tried all kinds of razors. Plus I shave my head, too. Up to this time Bic Flex 3 is the best one for me.
Gillette shave gels are also excellent.
I really like the shave I get from the safety razor-but being new to using it I get multiple cuts per shave-still learning the technique. I think it comes down to knowing the direction of your stubble growth so you can shave with the grain.
Momo-The key word being "new" it will get better with practice. Muscle memory is your friend.
Going to use my DE for the first time today. I've been struggling with ingrown hair for a couple of years now. I have coarse hair so it's even more prone to grow in. I hope this will fix it
It should, let us know...
Your argument makes perfect sense, 7 blades x 5 strokes, no wonder I get burned every time I shave. Thanks for sharing these informations with us!
Thanks for watching!
I use a safety razor for economy but when I want a really close, smooth shave I use a multi blade cartridge. I find that there's no comparison.
I keep one around for the precision shaver feature as well. 95% DE, but the cartridge has its uses!
Finally! I agree! Safety is for economy and for pleasure. When I want to get the job done it's cartridge!
Look into shavettes, you really can't get any closer than that. Be wary though, as theres is nothing between the skin and the blade on those.
@@captainkuijt
Will do. Thank you.
I have a shavette and trust me, it’s like I’ve never had beard before... fuck em multi blade
I've used cartridge style blades and never had an issue, its always smooth and closer than a single safety razor.
No
Probably because you don't have much hair. I have very little on my face, so junk disposables work just fine. My safety razor gets its most use on my body shaving- which is the only thing that shaves my pubic hair without cutting or razor burn.
Remember the cartridge razor need to use regular shaving cream which is not as dense and does not require too many passes.
Thanks for sharing.
Your videos is where it started for me over 5 years ago. Nice to see you still puttin' out the good word!
Geofatboy - This video is the best video that I have found on YT that talks about ingrown hair and razor burn. Thank you so much for this information!
I can agree more with you. With proper technique and good cart you can have a perfect shave every day.
How is this possible
@@samo4955 Many have told me the same. DE shaving sucks.
@@tommyharris5817 well that’s strange. I used cartridges most of the time and after every shave I got a big razor burn.
@@samo4955 Massage the foam or gel well and use light strokes, and of course, change the blade after 7 or 8 shaves depending on your beard thickness and coverage.
@@samo4955 everyone’s skin is different, I get no razor burn with a Harry’s cartridge
“20-25 cents”
Me: Runs to the store
Same lol
2024 update, u can get 100 blades for 9$ in some areas…
Geo's taking one for the team!
The safty razor is amazing and the best shave i have ever had.
Yeah and I bet your 1979 Honda Civic is way faster than my 2017 Corvette. Safety razor clown. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
@@samsteel4456 corvette is for gae boi, dodge demon is for men
@@samsteel4456 I don’t see why you are so offended in the comments.
Easy to use, not difficult at all.
Great vids, buddy. I switched to using a safety razor, and the price savings alone, which, I thought were unnecessary at first turn out to be a huge bonus. The soaps, and creams, as well as using a brush make shaving a much more enjoyable experience for me. Good job with these vids, and keep it up, buddy.
ive been living with razor burn for years, i thought i was cursed im gona try these and see if it helps thanks.
Hey man, have you tried it ? Does it help ?
@@irkl_ yeah I’ve been using them since that post lol, I find it helps if you have a hot shower first before shaving
Shaving is almost mindless with a cartridge razor.
i made the switch from cartridge to Straight Edge shavette. I still get irritation but not as much.
Try different DE blades.... I had to switch ti find ones that didnt. Astras worked for me.
Yeah, you can get just as great a shave with carts, he is ridiculously exaggerating. Kind of petty.
I dunno what I'm doing wrong then... proglide loses its edge for me within 5 uses, or 10 passes. Then it starts to tug and catch my skin causing cuts
Every time I try using a safety razor I get a million little cuts on my face. Can someone give a tip or two on how to avoid this? On the other hand, I can shave with a multi blade razor in about 2 minutes all directions and I don’t get a drop of blood. Thanks in advance
Vic R. What blades and razor are you using? As their level of agressiveness is mainly (apart from skill) what dictates how many nicks you get.
Dan S I have tried a few blades. All of them give me those tiny cuts.
Are you a manufacturer of tea tree oil?
@@geofatboy no I just found it so much better than using shaving creams and gels. But that's just how I feel. We are all different and have our own preferences. I just found I had less skin issues this way.
Thank you for putting your ad up Man, has been a big help to me. I used disposable blades for years and, got cuts nicks and lot of irration constant . Now got a safety razor on eBay and, is the best closest shave . Truly fantastic shaving every day, now is a joy . Wish I had this little gem years ago 😀
