I’m surprised there aren’t more views. I can’t stress how important this song was to me back in late 2019. That was a rlly dark year for me, and while I may have balled my eyes out listening to this song multiple times, it was visually inspiring to me. I can’t understand Japanese for the life of me, and without the context of language the music often feels how ever I first interpreted it. To me this song is melancholic, it reminds me of the good and the bad. It’s always fun to listen to a song you found years ago and get hit with a wave of nostalgia and unprocessed emotions.
It’s essentially 90s styled graphics. Ps1, msdos, Sega Saturn. If you love this I’d recommend you check out games like Vagrant Story, Megaman Legends, Panzer Dragoon. This style of graphics with low resolution and pixel style textures also had a resurgence on the Nintendo DS if you don’t feel like trying to get a hold of old consoles.

The thing that's really neat about this and the reason it's doing that is this essentially works like those really old DOS games from way back when. Really low resolution and rendered 100% in software. It made no attempt to smooth things out or improve visual clarity because the CPU was already working hard enough just doing a complex 3D game with only something like 33MHz to do it in. Major nostalgia for those of us who grew up with that.

It's worth noting that the earliest cases of 3D -- the ones that looked most like this -- didn't enjoy the benefits of any hardware 3D acceleration. 100% CPU rendered. With clock rates in the double digits of MHz (and here we are now getting somewhat close to double digits of GHz.)
Listening to this song again is like reuniting with someone I haven't met in years. The playlist I had this in got deleted, and I forgot the name of it so I thought I would never be able to find it again... until this channel uploaded an hour ago. It's good to be back.

3d with toon shading, low resolution, and no filtering. They also seem to use pixel art (face, escalator, etc) textures along with having certain elements in pixel art (sky, some of the backgrounds (based on the lack of dithering in all the 3d elements and the simplicity of pixel art for some things vs the whole 3d shebang)). It's a pretty effective use of toon shading at a low resolution and they do it quite well with their color choices and not skimping out on the models. I'm not entirely sure how one would go about some of the shaders for the stuff that actually reflects things and it certainly makes me want to play around with styles like this more. If you want to play around with this, download blender and give it a go.

曲も最高だし、ドットアニメ凄すぎてめちゃくちゃ贅沢だ…
楽曲そのものの良さを映像とのマッチでさらに引き上げる好例。。。横ステップ見たさに何度でもリピってしまう
志賀匠のファンになった。なんて綺麗な水色。
ドットで懐かしいかと思いきや、こういう絵で見たことないような色遣いで、知ってるのに知らないみたいな、パラレルワールドを見てるみたいな不思議な気持ちになる。
MVって映像が際立ってると音楽が入ってこないこともよくあるけど、これは引き立てて昇華させてる感じがする。頭が映像と音楽の間の一番いいゾーンをふわふわして心地良くて何回も何回も見てしまう。
